My Fiancé and I went here for our anniversary! I'm not a big seafood guy so I was a little skeptical. However the staff were all incredibly nice. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary and they gave us a great seat so we could look into the kitchen! The crab friend rice was very good and like I said I don't really like seafood. My fiancé said her halibut was good but she would try something else next time. I ordered the burger and was surprised at how good it was considering it is a seafood restaurant! Our service was great as well! I think his name was Joe. I would recommend and if they had other non-seafood items in the menu I'd come back!

The venue is cozy and cute, we sat in a booth that seats 6. Service was great. We loved the breaker martinis; such a unique flavor and the olives were amazing. The bbq fluke had amazing flavor and texture. The ceviche was a bit sweet and very tasty; great fish. Must get the smoked salmon for the table, it was so so good. The rum cake was huge and blew my mind.

Our 1st visit to Montlake Cut was great and we will definitely visit again. Service was very friendly and helpful from the hostess to our server and other staff we came across. The ambiance is a casual, but classy seafood spot. Our reservation was 8:45 pm on a Saturday and it was pretty packed & loud. The food was prepared well with nice sized portions. We had the sol milanese, halibut fish tacos, and a side of fries. Both fish dishes were very good. The sol portion size was huge. The fries were a little overcooked for our liking, but we appreciate that they're fresh cut.

This is a great hidden gem in Dallas! The food and service was fabulous. I highly recommend making reservations, even on a Wednesday night. It was very busy. I can't wait to go back.

Crab fried rice - it was pretty big for a small plate!

Great place! It's my second time here and I love it! All the food we had tasted amazing specially the branzino and the ceviche. Both were my favorites! Dessert was good but not as good as the rest of the dinner. They give you gold fish at the beginning which I thought was funny. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. Make sure to make reservations.

Recommend this place. Didn't have a reservation but still got seated right away, always a bonus. The waiter was great. Seemed kind of in a hurry, BUT...also when I told him the 3 bottles of wine I was deciding between, he didn't automatically say the most expensive (of the three). He gave an honest recommendation which was the middle priced bottle. I appreciated he didn't just say the most expensive one. We went specifically for oysters and they had 3 types that night, so we had options. Blue pointe are always my favorite. None disappointed tho. The food options are incredible, but the menu is a little confusing. Everything is presented as a "special" because the menu has a list of like 7 ways to order the fish (cook style and seasoning/sauces) but it changes with each fish, that's not actually listed on the menu. We had our waiter repeat it a few times. The haricot vert with bacons was delicious. As were the actual fish dinners we ordered. You also get gold fish for a snack and Swedish Fish with your bill:)

    Great cocktails.

What a great seafood restaurant. And just as important, an incredible cocktail menu. This is one of our new favorites in Dallas. Great food and great service. They have lots of fish items on the menu as well as daily specials. The oysters are top notch. And this may sound crazy, but you can add a beef taco to any meal. Brilliant!

I love Seattle (I've been multiple times) and this restaurant really brings Seattle to life right in Dallas! Parking is within the Preston center and see easy. The food was so fresh!! I loved my whole fish branzino, the oyster were excellent and perfectly briny. The service was good! It was our anniversary and our seating wasn't the best, they have the tables so close together and sat us right next to a party of 4. It would have been nice to have a table in a little more of a romantic area. We went on a Sunday at 7 pm with reservations and the restaurant was less than half full.balso all the other tables got the goldfish crackers except us, definitely felt like we were shoved in the corner and forgot about which is disappointing when one is spending hundreds of dollars on dinner. The prices are standard for the area but we left full and happy.

Made a reservation for 2 on a Wednesday evening, but as it was a weekday, it wasn't too busy. We were seated at a booth, and our waitress came over fairly quickly to take drink orders. I got the seaside G&T (Ford's gin, celery, Old Bay lime, tonic) - on the stronger side, so I couldn't finish it all, but delicious! The waitress then explained the Market Fish Preps - this section of the menu changes frequently, so you just have to ask for the specifics. We got the tuna crudo to start (this was a special that our waitress recommended over the hamachi), along with the Dutch mussels in anchor steam (garlic, butter, crispy bread) and the grilled swordfish from the Market Prep menu. The mussels were very tasty - I was looking for a small dish, and this came out as a larger portion than I expected, but the mussels were so fresh, and the crispy bread goes so well with the garlic soup that the mussels are steamed in. I had a bite of the swordfish, which really isn't my kind of fish, but it was grilled very well! We also got a side of their Harikot vert (green beans) with bacon, a delicious combo! A little salty, but the green beans definitely help mellow out the flavors. Overall, comfy atmosphere with great seafood - so what's not to love! Will be coming back to try some of their other menu items sometime!

Crab fried rice was so salty. Halibut was okay. Grilled oysters underwhelming. Great service and ambience but Martini not ice-cold.

They utilize team approach where someone else brought the drinks and food runners brought the food. Manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. Our water glasses were never empty. Others in the party had lobster rolls and the fried shrimp basket. I forgot to mention that we had the appetizers , crab hush puppies and fried oysters and both were excellent. We also tried the bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert that we really liked. Overall we would definitely return.

The mocktail was delicious. Our crab fingers appetizers were in a tasty sauce. The salad could've used more flavor to it and fresher lettuce, but i appreciated the amount of Parmesan cheese on top. I personally thought the presentation of the salmon was too much and a bit odd. I wish there was more sauce (or at least a side of sauce). The risotto was too bland, but the brussel sprouts were tasty and lemony. The salmon had a great crust, but it was too undercooked for me and wasn't the best salmon I've had. The filet mignon was ordered medium rare, but too us it seemed a lot more rare and wasn't seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were delicious. Our server was kind and helpful.

The roll tasted fresh, but it is on the spicer side so don't order unless you can handle some heat. 9/10 ***Entrees:*** I got the Beverly salad and subbed my shrimp for seared ahi. My cousin really enjoyed her meal and said she would definitely order it again. 10/10 The bachelorette ordered the steak frites, she ordered it to be cooked medium but it came out a bit more rare than she preferred. We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Truluck's last night. From the first sip of the Single Barrel Old Fashioneds to the last bite of dessert, every part of the evening exceeded expectations. We started with the Salt & Pepper Calamari, and after my first bite I literally said, "Oh my God." It may have been the best calamari I've ever had. The combination of blistered shishito peppers, red Fresno peppers, basil, sweet chili glaze, and dynamite aioli created an incredible balance of flavors with just the right amount of heat and crunch. An absolute culinary orgasm. For my entrée, I had the Redfish Pontchartrain with shrimp, crawfish, piquant Creole sauce, and rice pilaf. The fish was perfectly cooked; tender, flaky, and complemented by a sauce that delivered just the right amount of spice without overpowering the dish. My girlfriend ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Sauté over Florentine cauliflower rice with lemon vinaigrette. The scallops and shrimp were cooked flawlessly, tender and buttery, and she couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. We finished by sharing the carrot cake. Between the rich cream cheese icing, spicy pecans, and warm butterscotch sauce poured over the top, it was decadent without being overly sweet. Smooth, crunchy, rich, and absolutely unforgettable. Our server, Paloma, was exceptionally warm, personable, and incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive. She anticipated what we needed before we had to ask, making an already wonderful meal even more enjoyable. The bar is beautifully designed, our booth offered a fantastic view of the city, and the overall atmosphere struck the perfect balance between elegant and comfortable.
