The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The design, atmosphere, and presentation are on par with a luxury hotel, and the service was excellent. My disappointment was with the portion sizes compared to the prices. I ordered the gazpacho, which was nineteen dollars, and it was a very small serving. We also ordered three mantecadas with butter for fourteen dollars, and the portions were much smaller than we expected. My twenty dollar Negroni was served with a very large ice cube, making the drink itself seem quite minimal. I don't mind paying premium prices for great food. In fact, I would have gladly paid twenty-two or twenty-three for the gazpacho if it had been a more satisfying portion. For me, it wasn't about the cost, it was about feeling that the value matched the price. This is a beautiful restaurant that's worth experiencing. But, I do think the menu would benefit from either more generous portions or clearer descriptions so guests know what to expect before ordering. read more

I have to start by saying I had no idea there was even a restaurant tucked away in this part of the Design District! It feels like a hidden little escape once you walk in. The decor immediately gave me Tulum vibes (beautiful and stylish) and the cuisine is definitely an elevated, upscale take on Mexican dining. We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it really felt like an experience rather than just dinner. One important FYI from the birthday girl: this is not your chips-and-salsa kind of Mexican restaurant. So adjust expectations accordingly! Ha! There were four of us, and we ordered a ton of different dishes for the table and shared everything. I highly recommend going this route because it gives you a chance to try so much more of the menu. Definitely order the little bites sampler that comes with around six different bites and was such a fun way to start the meal. The pasta dish was easily my favorite of the night and something I would absolutely order again. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. And the service? Impeccable. Attentive, polished, and exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant at this level. Between the gorgeous Tulum-inspired atmosphere, elevated food, shareable dining experience, and fantastic service, this is such a fun find in the Design District. I'll definitely be back! read more

So wonderful build out Great parking Perfect restaurant size This entire review concerns one item- the Margarita. It's a distinctly unusual item. Served in a truncated cone of a glass. One single large ice cube. Some kind of emerald green substance on the rim where the salt would go. The liquid is also emerald green in a lighter shade. It's likely one of the best drink experiences in the modern world. A mortal could easily have six with their meal and perhaps should. read more

We had a nice welcome and is a nice ambiance. The food is OK; flavors a bit bland. The Grilled oysters are not bad but wouldn't repeat. The Octopus was not charred and bland. The Torta Milanesa is a good value but nothing special as well as the Pasta-Ladas. The food seems "over-creative" but nothing memorable to return for. Loved our experience here! We had cocktails before dinner at the bar with a very nice bartender, and enjoyed two small appetizers: the scallop was to die for, and my husband also enjoyed his crab cake. We had the tiradito before our meal, and describing the explosion of flavors in my mouth from that one dish is impossible. It's been 5 days, and I still love thinking about it! We also had the lobster toast which as rich and delicious, and then for entrees, we had the pasta with burrata (soooo good!) and the red snapper. We were told that the red snapper was the fave but my husband preferred my delicious pasta. The margarita was just so-so and on the small side. The Mexican Pinot was great, and loved the twist of the all-Mexican wine menu. The restaurant vibe was the perfect blend of not too loud but still buzzy. The lighting is gorgeous. Stopped by Puerto Cocina before a Stars game a few weeks ago and my husband and I had an amazing time. There was no operating valet yet when we visited but we were able to find free street parking outside the building. Service was super attentive and the interior is super gorgeous. Our server led us expertly through the different menus, and we started with the jamaica tea (not too sweet!) and the golden beet pop, which were both super refreshing drinks. We got one of each of the bites off that menu per person, and our favorites were definitely the butter braised scallop and the chochoyotes con caviar, but everything was super fresh and well made. From the main menu, we coursed out some hot and cold apps, split one entree, and ordered two desserts to finish. Of the apps, the tiradito and the panela salad wow-ed us the most. The tiradito was so visually stunning and the flavors and textures went together so well, and the salad was also beautiful and delicious. Definitely want to come back and try some of the other items on the apps menu in the future. The main we split was the red snapper, which was cooked perfectly, super flaky and soft, laid atop a bed of tangy, savory lentils that were also delicious. It was a good amount of food for two people about to go to a sporting event later and didn't want to be TOO stuffed, and also left us room to try the semifreddo and meringue batons for dessert. Both were amazing and balanced each other really well; the meringue batons were tart and fresh (and the textures were super complementary here too), and the semifreddo was sweet and creamy. Can't wait to see how this spot continues to evolve! Prices aren't insignificant but quality of food definitely matches them. We'll be back! read more

The space is so beautiful. We sat at the bar and got good service. The cocktails were really amazing. We tried the milk punch and the negroni. The food was good but the items we got didn't blow our minds. The aguachile de atun had super tender fish but with limited flavor, the candied hibiscus was great, the sauce was very spicy but overall not very flavorful. The sauce is the seasonal chocolate clam was very good. Everyone else liked their clams but mine tasted a little funky until I got through the first layer of its meat. The mushroom soup was good, loved the little masa chips in there. The chunks of whole mushroom were a little big for the dish and the greens they added were huge, impossible to fit into your mouth gracefully. Definitely go for cocktails!! read more

I went with a group of friends to this new addition to the Dallas restaurant scene. Service was great. Beautiful space. Most of us started with a glass of wine which the pour was maybe 3 ozs. It was definitely light. I've visited a few fine dining places and while this one has the right look, I thought the food was bland, the portions were too small, and overpriced given both. I did order the sea bass. It looked good. I had to stop at Chick-fil-A afterwards to get some fries just to have something extra. This of course, is only my experience and it could have been an off night. I won't go back but recommend trying it. read more

The moment I stepped inside, I felt like I'd been whisked away to Mexico. The light fixtures are stunning, and the sound system hits that sweet spot--perfectly balanced, never too loud or too quiet. Full disclosure: alcohol and I have parted ways. Maybe I burned out on it, or maybe it just lost its appeal. Either way, I went with the compressed beet soda, and it was phenomenal. For those who want something boozy, throw in a shot of tequila or browse their extensive cocktail menu (which I regrettably didn't photograph). We kicked things off with raw oysters from Costa Rica and the aquachile de atún--both fantastic starters. The aquachile de atún is a showstopper: delicate slices of tuna with jicama rolled inside. The panela salad completely won me over. The panela queso and fresh greens are a perfect match, and I'd happily order it again. Just know it's on the lighter side--you'll still have plenty of room for an entrée if you go this route instead of an appetizer. For mains, the steak delivered, and the pasta brings a welcome spiciness--think Carbone's spicy vodka pasta energy. Definitely a dish I'd return for. By the way they have a beautiful space if you have a private party which seats 28 and definitely gives birthday or engagement vibes. I will definitely be back for a repeat visit. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant in Dallas - the seafood is super fresh and the meals are Michelin quality...wouldn't be surprised if they won the Michelin award the next time they come through. I've been here several times. It's decent food in an environment that transports you to Cabo in an elegant way. The amuse bouche bites on offer are excellent and they've got a fantastic raw bar menu. I think the mains are too limited in number and that there needs to be more variety. Unfortunately on a recent visit, our pasta dishes were tasty but came out so hot that they had almost certainly been microwaved. Still tasted pretty good once it cooled down a bit. That said, you won't find better service anywhere in Dallas, and the food is certainly not bad at all. Spendy but fair prices. Sadly, I suspect what will ultimately do this place in is its location, which is very much a side street destination well off the beaten path. read more

Fabulous modern Mexican food in a stylish modern space. Readers should know this is not another Tex Mex joint but an eclectic seafood influenced menu. We loved the raw oysters, kale salad, and most of all the really excellent lamb chops that reminded my wife of her childhood in Cuernavaca. The selection of Mexican wines was also a hit from the sparkling rose to the Cabernet/Syrah blend. Prices are reasonable. I loved the grapefruit ceviche. It is all good and deserves to be discovered. Every place is crowded in the holiday season but this brand new place is waiting to be discovered in an off the beaten path new and still largely empty multiuse office building, convenient to everyone in the central parts of Dallas. read more
