    Nice ambiance

We had a nice welcome and is a nice ambiance. The food is OK; flavors a bit bland. The Grilled oysters are not bad but wouldn't repeat. The Octopus was not charred and bland. The Torta Milanesa is a good value but nothing special as well as the Pasta-Ladas. The food seems "over-creative" but nothing memorable to return for. The Drinks are was OVERPRICED; $23 for a Mezcal at lunch and $24 small Margarita !!! Service was friendly and professional though.

Stopped by Puerto Cocina before a Stars game a few weeks ago and my husband and I had an amazing time. There was no operating valet yet when we visited but we were able to find free street parking outside the building. Service was super attentive and the interior is super gorgeous. Our server led us expertly through the different menus, and we started with the jamaica tea (not too sweet!) and the golden beet pop, which were both super refreshing drinks. We got one of each of the bites off that menu per person, and our favorites were definitely the butter braised scallop and the chochoyotes con caviar, but everything was super fresh and well made. From the main menu, we coursed out some hot and cold apps, split one entree, and ordered two desserts to finish. Of the apps, the tiradito and the panela salad wow-ed us the most. The tiradito was so visually stunning and the flavors and textures went together so well, and the salad was also beautiful and delicious. Definitely want to come back and try some of the other items on the apps menu in the future. The main we split was the red snapper, which was cooked perfectly, super flaky and soft, laid atop a bed of tangy, savory lentils that were also delicious. It was a good amount of food for two people about to go to a sporting event later and didn't want to be TOO stuffed, and also left us room to try the semifreddo and meringue batons for dessert. Both were amazing and balanced each other really well; the meringue batons were tart and fresh (and the textures were super complementary here too), and the semifreddo was sweet and creamy. Can't wait to see how this spot continues to evolve! Prices aren't insignificant but quality of food definitely matches them. We'll be back!

The space is so beautiful. We sat at the bar and got good service. The cocktails were really amazing. We tried the milk punch and the negroni. The food was good but the items we got didn't blow our minds. The aguachile de atun had super tender fish but with limited flavor, the candied hibiscus was great, the sauce was very spicy but overall not very flavorful. The sauce is the seasonal chocolate clam was very good. Everyone else liked their clams but mine tasted a little funky until I got through the first layer of its meat. The mushroom soup was good, loved the little masa chips in there. The chunks of whole mushroom were a little big for the dish and the greens they added were huge, impossible to fit into your mouth gracefully. Definitely go for cocktails!!

I went with a group of friends to this new addition to the Dallas restaurant scene. Service was great. Beautiful space. Most of us started with a glass of wine which the pour was maybe 3 ozs. It was definitely light. I've visited a few fine dining places and while this one has the right look, I thought the food was bland, the portions were too small, and overpriced given both. I did order the sea bass. It looked good. I had to stop at Chick-fil-A afterwards to get some fries just to have something extra. This of course, is only my experience and it could have been an off night. I won't go back but recommend trying it.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Dallas - the seafood is super fresh and the meals are Michelin quality...wouldn't be surprised if they won the Michelin award the next time they come through. The service was incredible - they definitely hire enough employees to keep the service attentive. Lastly, the ambiance is incredible - very upscale with beautiful natural lighting

We had an amazing experience at Puerto Restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. The chef even sent us some complimentary appetizers, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. He is an excellent chef who truly cares about his guests. Héctor, our waiter, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, and he truly made us feel at home. Great ambiance for date night or girls night, or more upscale easy casual at the bar. Everything was delicious but we especially enjoyed the margarita, seasonal chocolate clams, and red snapper. The martini was also a fun experience! Server was very knowledgeable and it seemed like the staff helped each other with serving/clearing so everything was timely and prompt, but we never felt rushed.

Dallas is lucky to have this place. The coastal Mexican is unique and everything was verging on delicious. Service was great and attentive. The margarita, while not traditional, was the best one I've had in a couple years. I hope dallasites patron this place, as all of our truly unique and wonderful places ultimately close, and the generic mediocre food thrives if it's a place to be seen.

The actual Bocados de Mar menu

Great food and a great atmosphere. Drinks were excellent, and the dishes felt creative and well done. I'll definitely be back!

The only thing that was brought to our table was dry bread and cold/hard butter. Our waitress name was Kristine and honestly she was the worst i've ever had! The oaklawn location is THE WORST location i've ever been too and I've been to all of the Atlanta locations, the Alabama location and all of the Dallas, Texas locations and I have NEVER had a bad experience. Meanwhile the waiter didn't bring my drink when she brought everyone else's then when I mentioned it she told me I never ordered one! The issue here was the entire right side of the table heard me order my drink and also state that I would be taking care of my sisters drink. We asked for the manager 10 times and someone by the name of Andrea showed up maybe 2 or 3 times out of the 10 with NO SOLUTIONS. The majority of our party ordered from the restaurant week menu so the orders were simple but incomplete and dissatisfying! My shrimp gumbo came out after 1 hour and 40 minutes COLD! Everyone else's came out decent, the waiter Kristine acted as if she ain't understand the issue! I stated that I didn't want any more gumbo after she said she can bring out another. I wasn't offered anything else although on the restaurant weeks menu there were 2 other options. Next, 45 more minutes went by and the waiter came out stating that the dirty rice that came with the majority of our 2nd courses was sold out. Next we all questioning what our options are. 20 more minutes go by and the supposed manager Andrea states that they are sold out of the 3rd course (cheesecake) that the entire table ordered. needless to say for the 2nd course the waiter stated that we could get crab rice instead of dirty rice. Most of us agreed and it came out DRY AF and nasty bug at this point we don't even care we gave up. All of the table received theirs but the birthday girl never got her rice so we asked questions of course the waiter is clueless and the rice later comes out separate from her meal! After that remember they said the dessert of our choice is no more so they bring the bill. We ask if we can get our cake for birthday girl and some guy comes and slams it on the table as if he has any reason to be irritated after what we've been through! The bill was complete bullshit! At that point we don't want our food, we've had a terrible experience but there really wasn't any accountability for anything! We were met with blaming of being short staffed and the kitchen! NEXT, I state that I wont be paying my bill until I speak with the manager and our waiter inappropriately asks me my age! Why that mattered and why she asked me that is still unclear but I tell her my age has nothing to do with my asks of her! Next she explained the check saying that I received over $25 in discounts and after my calculations that was a lie! I went ahead and paid the bill out of frustration although I should've left the shit on the table and walked out! The waiter watches me pay and skip the tip and then INAPPROPRIATELY STATES that I skipped the TIP! I proceeded to tell her that she DIDN'T DESERVE a tip! Her attitude continues and I don't care nor do I say anything else. I approached the manager Andrea to ask one more time if she was really the manager and her, the waiter and some other lady were smirking! THIS experience was Unnecessary , Unacceptable, and Unprofessional and I will not stand for it! I want a refund as this food was thrown in the trash! All of your staff at every location should be on one accord and i'm just not going to accept how we were treated at this location! You all literally ruined a birthday and that's sad!

I made a reservation and placed in the notes the occasion. The preparation and attention to detail was so appreciated. The food was good. In total transparency, the King crab was a bit over cooked. I believe this could be a one off situation because I have had crab here before that was perfect. Although I did not make a huge issue of it the brief mention of it I made to Dawn, my impeccable server, caused her to relay the dissatisfaction. Once the Manager, Deshon Ford, was made aware he truly went through great lengths to make sure I felt appreciated and the concern was addressed. Maggie was also a warm welcome and a delight to encounter. This is what was ordered: King crab: 7/10 the precut of the shell is very helpful. It did not have the natural sweetness I normally experience. The squeeze of lemon does wake up the flavor a little bit but the cook process did not afford the tender luxury as expected. The lemon butter sauce is good but could be great if using clarified butter with minced garlic and a hint of seasoning was considered. Crab fried rice: 7/10 the presentation and the way it was assembled is great. I also like the ingredients. I could not tell if there was crab throughout. I did see the pieces of shredded crab sprinkled on top. This would be a 10 if it was seasoned a bit more to wake up the palette and there was visible lump crab mixed in throughout along with brown butter. Meatball appetizer: 10/10 I could tell the quality of the meat is high. The ingredients and seasoning is on point. They were perfectly cooked. Still tender in the inside and a crisp on the outside. The sauce on top brought the flavor to a well rounded party in your mouth. Natural chicken: 12/10 I tried a few bites of this meal since it was not what I ordered and it was the best meal of all. The chicken was so tender, delectable and excellently cooked. The potato mixture and the capers are well paired and oh sooooo goood. Bread roll with fresh Parmesan:10/10 So fresh, fluffy, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The light and fluffy Parmesan sprinkled all over the top elevates the bread to the clouds. The fresh whipped butter is also a great element of flavor with every bite. Mediterranean salad: 8/10 I was thinking this sals did not come with lettuce. The crab, olives, feta, cherry tomatoes, and calamari are a great pairing. The calamari was a bit chewy. All of the other ingredients are good. I think the dressing could use more depth in flavor to help incorporate such good ingredients. Whalla: 10/10 this drink was so lovely and well balanced. A thoughtful mix of ingredients.Loved the smokey presentation.
