Great experience yesterday at Monument car parts, San Ramon. I was detailing a clients car and the client also wanted me to change out the wiper blades. No probllem as i had done this 50 plus sets before. Well, the normal loop kind it turns out. This 2015 Ford Explorer had a metal nub on the end after I broke off a piece of plastic. I was in Ut-Oh land thinking I broke something. I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out as the rain increased by the minute. Off to Monument with much hope. Deborah, greeted me with a smile as I entered. I said I HOPE you can help. I explained the mid-evil wiper control arm. She removed the normal car install loop part and installed an entire new insert, and pulled out a part of that insert and quietly said its was ready for instal. I was still doubtful of this witchcraft and a happy ending. Deborah came outside and installed the first one explaining each step. She might as well had been speaking Swahili and I would've understood better. Luckily, seeing me deer in the headlight confusion, she also installed the second one. I had bought nothing from the store and she treated me like a Monument highroller. Excellent/outstanding customer service from her. I was beyond fortunate that she had the patience and knowledge to solve my Rubiks cube. This will be my go to place no doubt in the future. ( I'll call first and ask Deborah is working :)). Monument Car Parts is a small store on SRVB, near the San Ramon-Danville border. There are lots of businesses here for cars in the vicinity: ELease Returns, Gold Coin Car Wash, Wheel Works, America Tires, Oil Changers, and O'Reilly just to name a few. I made a quick stop to replace some windshield wipers, with the rainy season coming. One of my wipers had the rubber layer come loose so it was like a wet noodle flying around. The nice clerk at Monument helped me pick out the right sized wipers based on my car model and then helped teach me how to replace them. It was much easier than I thought - I am normally not handy around cars and its important to get wipers installed correctly. Safety first, right? 5 stars for excellent service that's friendly and quick. I was in and out in like 5 mins with brand new wipers! read more

My six month old Bausch battery stopped holding a charge, I bought it back to Monument car parts in San Ramon. They tested it on the spot, reading said replace. Didn't have the expensive $300 AGM battery on site but got it within two hours, they did a peak charge, tested the new battery and had it ready for pickup that day. Totally covered under warranty. I like the location because it was close for me at the time.. ,and it was dead inside I was the only customer, so I figure it would be a fast easy visit. I was looking for some breaks so i brought a buddy who is a car expert with me. I will never come to this store again due to the worst horrible service.. I was asking the associate for breaks and he seemed like he didn't really know much he was annoyed that he had to help me and then found the wrong item ... my buddy took a look at the item and quickly asked him if these are the rights ones.. My buddy took a better look at them out of the box and realized that the associate was selling us the wrong one. So he then asked if they had carried difference models for this car and after searching the computer found there was another pair and then sold us the correct ones.. I m just really disappointed in the customer servicer here very very poor.. and then we also asked about another product and instead of taking us to the lane that had it. the worker just said yeah it over there just got to find it.. read more

Also, it seems every time I self-install wiper blades, they come right out, seems like an art beyond my skill. While this wasn't my first time visiting Monument, I definitely had a great experience today! They have been my go to for a lot of car parts, and are always nice and helpful. Today I walked in needing new windshield wipers. All of the men at the counter greeted me, and I, in turn, asked how they were doing. Just be polite! :) I told Philipp thje make, model and year of my car, and he asked if I wanted just the basic wiper. I said no (due to preferences for the other wipers I'd purchased there) and went with a better product. He then asked if the car was in the parking lot. It was so he took a quick peek. He then picked the brand that I have purchased in the past, rang up my purchase and said "let's go put these on." I was stunned! I've always put my own blades on, but didn't say no. Less than five minutes later (after a size change) I was on my way. Thank you! You made my day! Yes, it was only wiper blades, but it's the little things in life that are important. read more

I have a 1956 Thunderbird that came with a oil bath air cleaner. I bought a new lid for my air cleaner to convert it to a paper element. However, I had a very hard time finding a paper air element that would fit. You know that moment when it starts sprinkling and you go to turn your wipers on aaaaannnnndddd it's like you are wiping with a dried rag that had eggshells, dog vomit and sand paper on it? If you own a car you know what I mean. My blades were so bad my sister just told me to stop using my wipers. I came in here the very next morning to get me some new ones. They had the required blades in stock. The man helping me came out and even installed them. I don't think my pals down at Napa would even do that. It seems I wasnt the only one doing this. I saw a few women coming in. Before I knew it I could see the whole wet world in front of me. These guys are the best. Bought a battery there today and didn't have any tools to take the old one out and the put the new one in. Was going to buy a wrench JUST for that purpose, but one of the guys at the counter (don't remember his name) lent me a crescent wrench so I didn't have to wasted money on a wrench I would probably only use once. And then when the wrench didn't work (not their fault, it was just too big for the space I needed to get into), he lent me a whole socket set to finish the job. This is outstanding customer service. Most places would've been reluctant (or not willing) to lend out tools like that, but in doing so Monument Car Parts is my choice for parts whenever I need anything. These guys rock. Stopped by to get a rear window wiper. The car is new to me and I had trouble getting the old wiper off. I did a quick measure and headed into the store. The counter man, Philipp, looked up my car and we walked back to the wiper display where he found two slightly different possibilities. It wasn't clear as to which wiper was the right one so without batting and I, he walked outside with me and went through the trouble a popping off my windshield wiper even when I told him that he didn't need to do all that. As it turned out we didn't have the right wiper at that point, so we went back into the store and he went back and found 1/3 wiper. He then went outside with me again and installed that wiper. He must have spent about 10 minutes with me, was just as helpful and courteous and friendly as any sales person I've ever met. Completely Beyond what was necessary in my opinion for a $10 sale.
