I went in for a pedicure since this was the only salon available to take me in all week. It is a bit different than your local nail salon but Crystal was amazing. If you are use to massage chairs and your local nail salon environment, I would say skip this place. I was going to Las Vegas and wanted to get a new look! Hair and eyelashes well I got orange hair and told them I wanted to come back after the shock of my hair had a minute! They made appointment for me and then as the days go by the eyelashes started falling out and when I returned to get my hair fixed they said they would refund my money for the eyelashes! So they started fixing my hair but as you can see it is still orange! They then said it would be another $39.00 on top of the $320.00 I already paid them! They said it would have been free had I stayed the first time!!! But since I had to go back it was a whole different charge! 5 stars for my first experience here 0 for my last :( I was initially referred to Latoya by a friend for a flat iron and cut in December 2017. I had a great experience! I immediately liked her personality and thought she did a very good job straightening my curly hair and trimming all of my damaged ends. And the price for that service was very reasonable! I left feeling great! Fast forward to yesterday, Feb 6, 2108. I left in tears after getting a awful bleach job :(. I had virgin hair, and I don't know a lot about bleaching / toning / coloring etc. I found a few pictures of what I thought to be a "balayage" style that I really liked and showed Latoya during a consultation a few days prior. During the consultation she seemed very confident that she could give me something similar. I arrived very excited to add some color and dimension to my long curly hair. Latoya and her assistant bleached my whole head (leaving a few inches of the roots dark) by the foil method, and sweeping the bleach on so not to have a sharp line where the bleach stopped. After washing it out and "toning" it, I was immediately shocked by the results! It was an orange / yellow / brassy color, not flattering at all! When I voiced my concerns and made the comment that it looks orange she replied that it a actually looked "yellow" like that was any better!? She started to blow dry it and it just looked worse in my opinion. So she offered to "tone" it again and I agreed. The results of the second toning made it look more golden yellow and not so much of the orange yellow it was before. I still was not happy bc there was no dimension / high lights like the pictures I showed her. In my opinion it looked like I bleached my hair myself. And it did not compliment my skin tone, I looked like the scarecrow and the lion from Wizard of Oz had a baby. She was receptive to me not liking it and kept asking if I wanted her to "tone" it again but at that point I had no idea what could be done to fix it... I'm not a stylist, I don't know what "tone" it means. It seemed like she wanted me to tell her how to fix it.... at one point she did apologize for not being on "her game" and explaining better what she was going to do prior to bleaching my hair.... at the end of the day I trusted a stylist to make me look good and I now regret putting my hair in her hands... To be fair she did offer options like adding low lights or referring me to a different stylist to fix it, to make me feel better but at that point I just felt like crap. That dreaded stylist disappointment had set in... she made comments like "you probably just don't want blonde hair" and "you're just in shock from the big difference" ... no I'm in shock bc I look crazy! I didn't want her to flat iron it so she offered to "diffuse" it. I wear my hair curly 95% of the time and I know how to achieve a good wash-n-go.... I did not like they fact that she just put a little product and started to diffuse it, without brushing out the frizz or anything to smooth the curls... so I left with damp hair and a sad face :( I've seen other reviews with pictures on Yelp where she did a great job! I can't imagine that the way my hair looks now would be done intentionally by any stylist! I was most disappointed that Latoya made it seem like she did a bomb job but it was just "me" that couldn't handle going blonde... This is my second review ever on yelp! I especially dont like giving negative reviews! But I hope that maybe this will help some else who wants to get their hair colored here. Also the service was discounted since I was visibly upset, I didn't ask for a discount and I even left a tip! Edit: Just wanted to add that IF what I was trying to achieve could not be reasonably done in one session that was NEVER mentioned at the consultation nor prior to starting the service.. maybe I just had high expectations...‍ and maybe that's why she said she was "off her game" for not explaining that ‍... I absolutely love Mood! Latoya is a master stylist. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my curly hair. Crystal is an artist with nails. Crystal & Latoya are so amazing that I booked a standing appointment with both until 2024! Laquita gives the most amazing shampoo experience. Her scalp massage is to die for. Shout out to AJ at the front desk! AJ is hilarious and adds to the overall "Mood". Every time I go in for services it feels like I am in an episode of Cheers. Had my haircut today by Arianna and left completely dissatisfied. She first was going to blow dry my hair straight to cut it, I informed her that I never straighten my hair and tend to wear it curly. She told me "you don't have curly hair it's wavy" and continues to diffuse dry my wavy/curly hair. She then brushes through it and cuts it. Once done my hair is completely puffy and frizzy and she informs me that she doesn't have time to fix it. I asked if we could at least wash/rinse my hair quickly so I don't walk out with puffy hair and she declines. I left with my hair looking like a horrible frizzy mess. Hi my friend and I had our hair done at mood on 10th Street. I was a little nervous shame on me because the girl was terrific beautiful! I love my hair. I asked for it to be a little shorter and it is not. I wanted a new style. She asked me how much I want to spend I said a couple hundred! When we left out of there I was charged $400 and my friend was charged $500 and all it was for was for high and low light and cut and wash and condition. I was in shock never have I ever had to spend this much money on what she did to my hair. I have to say as far as the hair goes it's a three-star not really much change from what I went in there with basically same type of style and my friend her hair can barely see any different. I think we were definitely way overcharged she doubled it at the counter. I'm very frustrated and needless to say broke. Was planning a trip to Vegas and so were they and now I can't because of such a high charge for a hairdo! I'm very very upset I'm broke! read more

I have only been getting Deva cuts for nearly 10 years because I have very thick/curly hair, that not many stylists can handle properly. After taking a look at the website, I was drawn to Kristina S. I am so glad I trusted that intuition! She has me as a client from this day forward. First of all, that wash, and scalp massage, is just as relaxing as a full body massage! I usually get freaked when a stylist dry's and straightens curly hair before cutting but I decided to trust that initial draw. I sat in total relaxation and just let her do her thing! Raquel did a great job on my hair. Absolutely love it. Thank you. The store was well prepared for taking on clients. They took my temperature upon arrival and limited the number of people in the store. They also sanitized each station after a client visit. Schedule appointment for my kid to get perms for 1.00 pm , salon called me at 12:45 that stylist running 30 min late while my husband and kid was already in salon parking lot. Told them to come back at 1:30 ok when they went back at 1:30 they got told by salon that it's going to be another 40 min , didn't even use the service my husband left because he had to go to work. I am super happy about my perfect pixie! I've been so disappointed in the past, but I found Nikki and she is great with short hair cuts. I had been stalking the salon and peeking in whenever I was downtown... so I finally made the plunge to just do it and make the appointment. I got THE best shampoo and conditioning I have ever had... my scalp tingled and I had goose bumps... it was super relaxing.
