Exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff. The homemade egg rolls (wrapper is actually made from egg) are amazing! They are a meal in themselves. The shrimp rolls are a special treat! They have a lot of different things to try. The Korean soup noodles are really good as well as the beef chow foon, but I ask for it spicy. Their fried rice is above average, and isn't just white rice with peas and carrots added like some places do. And if you want some delicious chicken strips, these are really yummy, especially with a side of gravy and their fries are like Tootsies. They use the same coating as their almond fried chicken. My sis and I were visiting from Texas and order off the lunch menu. We also ordered a side of steamed broccoli. The lunches were hot and fresh. They charged us a full dinner price for the steamed broccoli (didn't tell us this before we got the check and were shocked at the $16.95 price for broccoli). It wasn't a good experience. It took a few minutes to get to us to take our order and once that was done the attention from all three servers was constant. The food was amazing as always. There are a bunch of choices for Chinese food here in Sequim and nearby Port Angeles. What attracted me to Moon Palace was simply location...and the smell of Cantonese style cooking when I exited my car! Moon Palace is located in a small and quiet shopping plaza. After spending the day exploring around Olympic National Park...I was craving Asian Cuisine. When I Googled restaurants...a bunch of places came up and I didn't know which to choose from? My instincts just said to go with Moon Palace. When I visited back over the summertime of the Pandemic of 2020, I wasn't sure whether they'd offer dine-in service...fortunately they did! Because...I didn't feel like taking a meal back to my motel room. I just wanted to sit down in a dining room and feel normal again, lol. During this Friday evening when I stopped on by, it was casually busy. I was able to be seated right away. They had tables spread out far enough from each other...definitely more than 6 feet away. I felt safe and wore my mask the entire time until my meal was served. The waitress was friendly to me. I was just eating alone. I ordered one dish and that was it. She treated me fairly just like any other patron. The menu was easy to read through with your typical Chinese dishes. There were 4 different Single Person Dinner Combinations. Normally I'd choose from one of them and go with it...but I wasn't in the mood for any of the main entrees offered within the 4 combos. Ultimately I just chose a separate dish - A La Carte. That was fine by me. Also featured on the menu were 4 options for Family Style Dinners serving 2 or more people. So, I'm sure most diners choose either the Single or Family Combos as they basically feature everything within the course of a meal. An example of a Single Combination... - Combo 1 included - Egg Flower Soup, Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Pork, Almond Fried Chicken and BBQ Pork Fried Rice. All this cost $13.50. So...with a drink, tax and tip...it'd run about $20 for a single person. An example of a Family Style Dinner... - Dinner A included - Egg Flower Soup, Barbecued Pork, Honey Sesame Seed Chicken, Almond Fried Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and Barbecued Pork Fried Rice. This cost $14.50 per person. Overall, prices for Family Style Dinners run about $16 - $18 with everything included for each person. But you do have to take into account Sequim and Port Angeles are the gateways to Olympic NP. Because of their ideal locations...they're deserving of charging prices higher than what you'd normally see. I certainly found cheaper restaurants along my cross country road trip...but it's okay. In certain instances you have to pay up for convenience. I decided to order the A La Carte - Sweet and Sour Chicken for $11.25. The picture beside this dish looked terrific and mouth watering! In the moment, I was just hooked on this particular dish. I got hot tea with it as well...something very comforting for the mood I was feeling. While waiting for my meal...I did receive complimentary crispy noodles with duck sauce. The sweet and sour chicken came out of the kitchen within 10 minutes or so and looked stunning. I just had a feeling about this particular entree and it did not disappoint! The chicken was golden fried and fresh right out of the wok. The meat used was quality all white meat. The sauce was outstanding, tangy and thick with hearty flavor. It was accompanied with carrots, green peppers, onions, pineapples and white rice on the side. The sweet and sour chicken was absolutely satisfying! It totally "hit the spot", exactly what I was yearning for. The dish had some extra sweet and sour sauce which I mixed the white rice in to flavor it up. After a few minutes...I devoured the entire dish. I didn't leave anything over! I was hungry and Moon Palace delivered exactly what I was looking for! I left Moon Palace quite happily. It was a great way to end my first day exploring around Olympic National Park. I can't recommend this place enough. Had I stayed within this Sequim area another evening...I would have definitely returned and maybe had this sweet and sour chicken again or tried another entree. Ultimately...I spent the following evening near the Forks area of the Olympic Peninsula. Finally, there are many options for Chinese dining to choose from around town. Moon Palace may look ordinary from the outside...but it had a homely, authentic Chinese cuisine feel on the inside. I believe Moon Palace is a 5 star restaurant. read more

1st time here. Service was friendly quick and very accommodating. I had the peppered beef. The beef was cooked perfect and was tender and juicy. The bell pepper broccoli onions carrots and mushrooms were fresh. Best I've ever had. Also had an egg roll. It was huge and fill with tender pork and fresh vegetables. Biggest and best I've had anywhere. Dining room is clean and can accommodate big groups. It was half empty when I was there and the room was pretty quiet. Really enjoyed my meal there. We had wonton soup, walnut shrimp, shrimp and lobster sauce, chow mein with crispy noodles , and bbq pork fried rice. I personally wonton soup was ok but rest of it really yummy! Walnut shrimp wasn't super sweet and it had more lemony flavor to it which we loved. Moon Palace is a kinda divey, casual Chinese restaurant with ho hum food and sideways service. The service was bad and it's the most memorable component of my experience here. My husband and I stopped here for dinner. There were two teenage girls that were either brand new and/or hadn't been trained right. One took our order twice then a manager came out to get our order for the third time because the teenager didn't understand what was going on. It was super easy, two entrees, two sodas. Tried it again and I will never go back had Mongolian Chicken it was gritty and tasted nothing like any Mongolian chicken I have ever had was terrible tasted like chilly powder. Amazing service and awesome food. The staff is so friendly. The food was delicious, we had a starter of BBQ pork, egg flower soup and tea. It was nice as we mentioned we weren't in a hurry so the dishes came as course's. The the mains... OMG, my wife had the Fried tofu and green beans that was super flavorfull with a ton of depth. The green beans had the perfect tenderness with just the right amount of snap. She also had the pork pot appetizer as part of the main and these little creamcheese stuffed fried wonton with bbq pork are heaven. Not to mention the dipping sauce.... What attracted me to this restaurant was their sign which said Moon Palace - Cantonese (big street sign)....being Cantonese myself, this was a big let down. Ordered some "Cantonese" style entrees like Hong Kong style - House special Chow Mein (which is typically made with pan fried thin egg noodles), but instead it was pan fried spaghetti like noodles. Also ordered Tomato Beef with a Black bean garlic sauce (not sweet way)....the beef was tough, need to find a better way to marinade it, plus it was very bland. AMAZING FOOD AND PEOPLE!! The restaurant offers both authentic and americanized Chinese food that can be enjoyed by wide variety of crowd. My recommendation is their hand-made Egg Rolls. These egg rolls are crunchy outside and soft inside with fresh vegetables and bbq pork. Try a few bites without sauce and try rest of them with some (also home-made) sweet sour sauce. This was by far the worst money I ever spent! I wish there was a guarantee or many back! I would like my 79.00 back! I ordered . Chicken chow mien, shrimp chow mien, moon palace Lo mien, 2 egg flower soup, shrimp in oyster sauce, and shrimp rolls. Chow mein noodles were white, no flavor at all. Moon palace lo mein was over cooked slimy spaghetti noodles. Shrimp in lobster sauce looked like nothing I ever seen before! Looked more like a shrimp fajitas! Oh my GOD THE shrimp rolls consist of shrimp wrapped in bacon dipped in flour mix and fried! So gross. The dipping sauce taste like apple cider vinegar and soy sauce. Yuk. The pictures on the FB page do not match the food. They must of took pictures of a different restaurant and posted as their food. I will be calling my bank to refund my money. My kids love Chinese food. They voted never to eat there again. No body got past 4 bites. I ordered pizza from Costco. Threw everything away from Moon palace! Thought I would do a review since I have been going to Moon Palace for over 20 years. Each of my family members have their favorites that we must order every time. My husband loves their hot and sour soup, my son has to have their honey walnut prawns and my daughter can't get enough of their sweet and sour chicken! I liked Moon Palace very much. It's the classic "Chinese-American" restaurant menu you would expect out here in Sequim, but that being said, it is much better than any of the other places I have tried on the Olympic Peninsula. Most of the others have been no better than the to go Chinese food at Safeway, and some worse. Moon Palace is the exception. Moon Palace is clean and pleasant. The staff are very welcoming. The flavors are fresh and clean, and portions are ample. My MIL ate on her Senior Special (I think it was almond chicken, sweet and sour pork and bbq pork fried rice) leftovers for two days, and my husband and I had (got) to take our leftovers home for lunch the next day. We had house special chow foon (wide rice noodles with veggies, seafood, chicken and pork) and dry fried garlic green beans. YUM! I first started coming here when I was a teenager, (43 now) moved away for 15 yrs, then moved back to town and find some of the old favs are still surviving. There's a reason why...it's good! So many restaurants in town have come and gone, but Moon Palace continues to serve reliable food and great drinks. The main dining area is somewhat stark and uninspired, but the food and great drinks is why I come, not the "looks". The bar is very hometown feeling, where the bartender knows everyone in town. It's a very relaxed feeling, the sort of place you can come to hang out and play cribbage. Ohya, did I mention the great drinks? Bottom line, the "new" places in town come and go, but the ones that keep going for decades are worth supporting with our business, go try it and see. :) Edit: After discussing it with many other locals, it's very likely this is the oldest surviving restaurant in town.
