The Moon Palace is tucked away in a little strip mall on the left side of the street as you're headed west. If you've been to a decent Chinese restaurant on the West Coast, you know what to expect here. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable, but I prefer the Dynasty Chinese Restaurant which is just down the street. Don't let that dissuade you from trying Moon Palace, you may find that you like it better. read more

We ordered for the first time over the weekend from this wonderful place! Unfortunately, we were unable to dine in due to the recent Stay-In order but was able to get take out very easily. Thank you for being open during such a difficult time. We have tried other Chinese places in the area and have decided that Moon Palace will be the only place we will order from in the future! My husband loves the General Tso's and said it was by far the best he has ever had! I loved the Almond Fried Chicken and the Moon Palace Chow Mien. I'm honestly surpised at the negative reviews! We stopped in the bar around 7pm on Friday, after a strenuous hike on the spit, and granted the food is what you would consider "Americanized Chinese" but It was extremely good for that category of food! We ordered family style, with high marks going to the egg drop soup, hand-made eggs rolls, kung pow chicken (yummy!, full of peanuts, sweet and tender chicken and fresh veggies) and my favorite- the "house special" chow mein, service was fast and friendly with Mike (the bartender) cracking jokes and generally keeping us entertained. Will definitely return here on my next visit to sunny Sequim! read more

Best Chinese food around. Period.

Well don't show up around closing if you want to feel welcome... I called ahead to see if they delivered and even though they said they did I decided to go by and enjoy the lounge and have a nice meal. I went to the lounge and the bartendress didn't even bother to turn around from her calculations to welcome me. I was the only one there. I noticed they had no drafts beers so I ordered a bottle and a bourbon. They didn't have the bourbon and I had yet to be welcomed with eye contact so I left. At least next store at The Oasis there were people there and they had draft beers. So in summation I would suggest you get your takey outy from the Palace (even though I am not sure how good the food is yet) and if you want to hang and at least have some company try elsewhere. read more

We were pleasantly surprised when we decided to eat here. The decor was nice and the restaurant itself was clean with good service. We ordered the Egg Rolls off recommendation from a previous review. They were not wrong! I can clearly say they were the BEST EGG ROLLS I have ever had! We also ordered the B family dinner for two. There were 4 of us and with the addition of the egg rolls it was perfect for the 4 of us. We live an hour or so away and will be coming back here just for a road trip and a good meal! Went here wanting chinese food and their general tso's and sweet and sour chicken were just pathetic- it was like premade safeway style but for twice the cost. I believe the staff were actually korean...so much for authenticity :( The egg soup was decent. read more

staff is unfriendly and rushed here. the only thing good that they have is egg drop soup and even that's questionable sometimes. I really hope the owner of this place takes a look at his staff and watches how they treat people here. some employees have been here as long as the restaurant has been open and you can definitely tell that they are getting worn out and burnt out from the way they treat people. I have never gone here just because it's a place to go, rather only when the other places I wanted to go were closed. as far as the rest of the food goes, everything is overly battered and artery clogging. the chow mein that comes with every combination is tasteless and extremely greasy sauce ridden. I think it might be time for a re-vamp and maybe some new recipes .. perhaps home made egg rolls instead of the huge ones that are pre-made from sysco foods? read more

My sons and I just got back from Moon Palace, Sun Rise. We went for 5 days and 4 nights. The second night my son got bitten by some bugs in the room, sleeping on a cot. He was suffering for 2 days. I took him to see a doctor at the resort and he charged $200. Asked if it was bed bugs, he works for the sort, so he said no. I spoke with the public relationship representative (Lida is her name) and she did not care and said that the doctor did not say it was bed bugs. So it is not the responsibility of the resort to do anything because they can't control the bugs. The food was terrible and all restaurants are fully booked. The shower drainage was clogged and the sliding door was broken. They always try to sell you the timeshare. I got suckered and bought the one with 50% room rate. After I read the fine prints, they mislead the customers. The sell person said $299 for a fee and I can go anytime within 3 years with 50% discount on room rate. But the detail says I have to pay up front $1200 in a year and 1/2 to keep it valid or Pay $99 to extend another year or two. Don't fall for their sell pitch. The service was not good like before. In America we have 3 days after we signed a contract, we can cancel. After I paid and went back to ask if I can cancel, she said no. Showed me the fine print said the administration fee ($299) is not refundable. They have people at the lobby trying to get you to buy this scam. I won't go back, but had bought the package. read more

Just moved to Sequim and the Moon Palace was recommended by a neighbor. HOWEVER, the food took forever to come out, at least five minutes between my wifes food and mine. The chicken was chewy and clearly several days old. I had the seafood platter. The scallops were way undercooked, the oysters were definitely not fresh and were way over steamed. Easily the WORST chinese I've ever had. No way we will ever return. read more

we tried this place because our favorite was closed. The daily soup was great. The complimentary tea was equally close to perfection. Then the egg rolls came out and I was very hesitant and for good reasons. They are tempura battered and fried and virtually tasteless. My General Tso's chicken was ok but my husband's kung po chicken was terrible. It tasted like a bottle of vinegar was accidentally dumped into to wok. went here because someone i know works there and said it was really good. I don't know where or what she has eaten before, but I will not recommend this place to anyone. I went in and there were three tables open, i chose one in the corner by the windows. I had three people come climb in the seat across from me and mess with the blinds while I was trying to read the menu. I am allergic to mushrooms and wanted to make sure and not order anything that had them in it. The problem was that there were only a few things that had a description of what was actually in the dish. I asked the waitress after she came over a couple times asking for my order when each time i asked for her to give me some time to decide. She acted put out that i would take up her time. I wanted some crab cream cheese won ton and she said theirs were stuffed with BBQ pork. I asked if they had some without the pork and she said yes the vegetarian ones..... (cream cheese is not vegetarian) I put in my order for Mongolian beef and some of the won tons. 45 minutes later i got the won tons and another 20 minutes before i got the beef dish and fried rice. You could smell burnt meat really bad and when I tasted my dish it was not good at all. I could not even eat it and it tasted like a burnt roast that was way overcooked and mush. The rice was sticky and tasted as if there was the burnt broth from the beef in it. I tried my best to try and eat, but after about three bites I felt very ill and asked for my ticket. I didn't feel like anyone should have to pay for this mush, but was just wanting to get out of there. I paid and even left a small tip even though I did not feel anyone deserved it for the service I had not received. I ate a lot of asian food across the US and lots of different places in Sequim, this place would be placed at the bottom as the worst i ever tried. For the price there isn't much food, but guess they don't have so much to toss when people don't eat it. I would say if you are hungry for Asian food keep driving, the small Teriyaki places across town are much better and lots friendlier staff. read more
