Good food, meh service. The owner was confrontational when my sis went up to the bar to ask for the mignonette that they forgot. Also, super tacky to ask for a tip when you're ordering through a QR code AND you haven't gotten service yet! To be fair, some of the bartenders are nice, but everyone working there seems stressed out or uninterested in customers. I mostly go in and keep to myself. Wish it felt more welcoming. What a joke. Sat down and used the qr code qr code to order inline. They were out if several things online but we placed an order and had to pay then. After a minute were approached and said they were out of an item we ordered. We canceled the full order and left. Nothing was made or delivered to us. A few days later a credit was received for the tip amount inly. Apparently they figure they are entitled to be paid for an order that was cancelled. Tracie. Your response is inaccurate when you say you can not track the ticket. You tracked it well enough to refund the tip but not the money paid for food and beverage which was never served.. your employee also had the ticket in hand when the order was cancelled. You could also search your POS system for cancelled tickets with the tip amount you refunded. So no I don't buy your explanation. I had no issues with your business or employers when i left however just refunding the tip and jeeping the rest is inexcusable. There is no need to do anything else since i gave disputed it already. As for me posting the facts if what happened on Yelp that is what it is for. Do you also condemn those who post a five star review on Yelp. Can't have it both ways. On the way to Victoria via the Black Ball Ferry, we opted for a quick stop at Salty Girls in Sequim for lunch. This was on a Friday and the place was empty when we got there at 11:30. Ordering is usually done via QR code, but they are also happy to orders at the register. One thing to note: on our visit, the restaurant left the front door open and didn't turn on heating so we found it rather cold inside. Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread Bowl ($14) - Salty Girls has one of the best preparations for chowder bread bowls I've encountered. They expertly hollow out the center as much as absolutely possible, leaving maybe only half an inch of bread on the sides (I think they use the trimmings to make their homemade croutons). This allows them to ladle in the maximal amount of clam chowder, much more than most I've had in the past. While I believe the bread is some commercial one, it has a distinct, but light, sourdough taste and doesn't have the overwhelming taste of stabilizers and preservatives that some bread bowls run into. It's toasted very nicely, giving a fantastic crust, while the interior bread remains light rather than dense, yet holds up to the chowder well. The chowder itself is pretty good. It's thickened, but still just runny enough to not feel like it's been over reduced. Not clumpy or super heavy as some other chowders. There's a strong herbal quality in the mix, combined with large pieces of clam and bacon. The amount of clam isn't very generous, but there's enough of the chewy mollusk to get at least a piece per spoonful. Lots of tender diced potato chunks complete the chowder. There's by far the most potato in terms of ingredients in this dish, making it very carb heavy. The chowder is served steaming hot and remains quite hot for a long while even in the cold air of the restaurant. (4/5) Crab Melt ($18) - Interesting open faced sandwich, with the crusty heel portion of a ciabatta roll, toasted until crispy on the flats, but still softer on the interior, albeit thin. It's topped with an ice cream scoop of crab salad. The salad is essentially tuna salad with the crab substituted for tuna. This means there's a ton of crab and not much filler - plenty of sweet shreds of crab meat, mixed with a couple of crunchy pieces of celery in a creamy sauce. The crab salad is then topped with cheese, then the entire creation is broiled until the cheese on top becomes bubbly and the cheese that flows down the sides of the bread becomes essentially a crunchy cheese skirt. Something to note, not necessarily a negative, is that the center of the crab salad scoops remains cold, which is in stark contrast to the warmed exterior. The dish comes with a side of ridged kettle chips. Robustly crunchy, simply salted. Surprisingly good to dip into the clam chowder in fact. (4/5) Salty Girls definitely serves some good seafood dishes. I certainly wouldn't mind returning the next time I'm in Seqium. Found another pet friendly place with great food. The service is excellent, welcoming and pretty prompt. The clam chowder is top notch, and my shrimp cocktail was a cut above the usual, although requires peeling-in this case, worth the effort. I also recommend the PG Fizz. The outdoor parking isn't "very covered" but nice. They don't have a specific dog friendly item on the menu, but mixed up a side of rice and bacon in a bowl, which worked well. We ordered the pound of mussels, which were well cooked and plump, though there was one that was closed - the sauce wasn't that flavorful, as it was mostly butter and I felt like it was missing some herbs. Crab roll was refreshing and good on a buttery brioche, would order again. Bowl of clam chowder was delicious, I liked the texture of the veggies as they were chopped into smaller pieces and cooked well. Slices of bread were the cherry on top! We were indecisive about the oysters, so we got a flight with 3 of each Sweet Creaks, Cairns, Sapphires, and Miyakis. These took a while to arrive, and we were almost done with our entrees by the time we dug into these, but they were deliciously fresh and came with two mignonettes. With three beers, tip, and a credit card fee, our total came it about $150 which felt like a lot for the experience. I had never been to the restaurant, but the menu looked good. We sat outside and there were maybe 2 other tables. We ordered from the QR code and I'm really mad they make you pay up front at the table. I tipped 20% and for the service we got, I wish I hadn't. They basically delivered our drinks and food, and then never came back. Not how is everything, nothing. The weird thing is the people serving had no clue what food went to what table. Then the server dropped a bowl from one of the entrees and just left it on the ground in the middle of the outdoor dining area. Another customer picked it up and moved it. My fish tacos were ok, but I have had better. My friend liked her crab BLT, but it was a sandwich you needed a fork to eat. Luckily my fish tacos had one on the tray. You know that daydream you have about vacation, when you're sitting in the sun and salt water is not far away and you're having a cold adult beverage with family or friends... and work, dirty laundry, bills, and that weird noise your car is making that sounds expensive seem like they don't even exist anymore? This place tastes like that feeling. We had the steamed Manila clams, which were perfectly cooked and came with an abundance of salty buttery cooking juice that you need to soak bread in. Pro tip, ask for extra bread. We have the clam chowder, which was generously studded with both clams and potatoes. Probably as many clams as potatoes which is awesome because clams are expensive. My son had the crab melt, which was the same crab salad I had in the crab roll, but warm and served on toasted ciabatta with melted cheddar. I had the crab roll which was served on a toasted brioche bun. It was delicious and fresh not frozen crab meat with just enough mayonnaise to get it to hold together. It is counter service, so keep that in mind. Nevertheless the service was attentive despite the Sunday afternoon vacation crowds. We went here during pride month so there was party favors all over the table which was great cause the kids loved it. They were super distracted. The waitress even let you keep the favors at the end. The chowder was sooo packed with lots of potatoes, clams, and I think I even saw bacon. It wasn't soupy at all and very filling; not super salty as well. A must if you go there. The oysters were soo fresh but some were a bit bitter might be the season itself. I loved the ahi poke as well. The ahi was fresh and the sauce gave it a kick of spice. Good balance with the rice however. The crab roll was decent as well. It taste exactly like a tuna salad. Chips were a bit salty though. I think the crab melt was better. We found this little restaurant while visiting Sequim and now we make it an almost weekly visit driving from Port Angeles just to get a bowl of their AMAZING clam chowder and fish tacos. Stopped by here after visiting one of the lavender farms! We got the baked oysters with two types of butter--garlic Parmesan butter & Chipotle bourbon butter. The garlic Parmesan was our favorite but the chipotle was good too! My dad had the clam chowder and prawn cocktail, both were great. My mom got the fish tacos & they were pretty good! I got the ahi poke because I wanted something a bit more simple after the buttery oysters & it was a solid amount of fish with some spicy wasabi mayo. Have been here a couple times during long road trips to Olympic national park. Highly recommend their oysters, clams, and clam chowder. Their toppings for their baked oysters were unique and paired well. Everything else was just lacking. Fish taco was too salty and not fresh. Their crab melt and crab roll barely had any flavor or crab. And their house made chips was just a hard pieces of salt, would only be good for the chowder, otherwise, would much prefer simple fries or salad. Not much service, though we do prefer the fast QR code phone ordering system. You get your own water but we had to wait for a while for them to refill their big dispensers. Our tables were quickly cleaned where we could still smell some leftover seafood from the past customers. Quite a small place so wait can be a while for weekend lunch hours. read more

Watch out for extra surcharges on your credit card bill. There were two for using a card and then another charge per customer! No sign, no vebal warning etc. Fish tacos not warm, not very good.
