Amazing customer service and high quality products! I purchased an Eastern Redbud tree from them. Jae was my salesperson. He was so accommodating and patient with me as I was indecisive. He was not pushy and was neutral offering lots of information on the various trees I was considering. He even offered to drive me around in a good cart because I was wearing sandals. The check out was easy and even the delivery guys were super nice. They originally scheduled my planting 2 weeks out but that had an earlier time become available so the gal in the office called and rescheduled it. Everyone was very professional and customer service oriented. These days it is hard to find good customer service. Moon Nurseries still cares about its customers. The tree is beautiful. I'm just sad my yard is not big enough for more trees. I'd love to do more business with them! read more

Buyer beware. Moon Valley sold me the wrong tree and won't make it right. I purchased a fruit combo tree (peach, plumb and nectarine) from here Aug 2022. For the next two years I only got a few Peaches. This year I found out that the whole tree is a peach tree (Not what I paid for) after the whole thing is covered in peaches. Now mind you I know they have no control over how much fruit it gives. But they should sell me a tree I paid for that is three different fruits. I reached out to Moon Valley informing them I paid for a fruit combo that is completely a peach tree. I even sent a video of all main branches showing it bearing nothing but peaches (it even still has the Moon Valley Nursery tag on it). The manager, though his kind employee (Kyle) said there was nothing they can do as it's been 3 years. Deceptive sales practices here as I was not given what I purchased and they won't make it right. read more

High pricing, rude customer service. I asked about the pricing and dude starts talking smack to his coworker. It showed $80 on the sign and rung up as $40 so I asked him if it should be $40 and he started giving a bunch of sass. Looked up similar prices online and it showed $50 for a bigger plant. Ended up buying to not deal with the hassle and he tried to skimp me the free gallon of moon juice. They also wouldn't offer to help me select a good plant. I wouldn't go here again. I've had positive experiences with Moon Valley Nurseries in the past, but unfortunately, my most recent visit completely changed my opinion. While exploring plant options for a future landscaping project, I was assisted by a representative named Jay. Initially, I was eager to learn about different plants and landscaping ideas, but the moment Jay realized I wasn't making an immediate purchase, his entire demeanor shifted. Instead of continuing to provide guidance or at least maintaining basic professionalism, he abruptly stopped engaging with me. The lack of courtesy and emotional intelligence was astounding. What Jay failed to realize is that I was planning to make significant purchases for multiple projects at a later date. Not only did he lose those future sales, but he also cost Moon Valley Nurseries additional business from colleagues and friends who are doing landscaping projects and I was going to refer. I was willing to pay Moon Valley's higher premium prices because of their service and expertise, but after this experience, the higher cost simply isn't worth it. It's unfortunate that one representative's dismissive and short-sighted attitude has tainted what was once a go-to place for landscaping needs. A single bad experience may not always define a business, but in this case, one bad egg truly spoiled the whole lot. Would I return? Not after this. Wow, they've been out planting 3 different times. Kyle our sales person was passionate and knowledgeable. Totally committed to getting it right. Alex and the planting crew amazeballs, replaced soil, mulched in, watered and fed everything planted. 4 trees all 24" box, Palo Verde, 3 trunk King Palm, Meyer Lemon and giant clumping bamboo. They planted our front hillside terrace with salvia, white trailing lantana, mounting white morning glory. Also French lavender and for the shady side a red camellia. Brianna followed up with an e mail and a phone call to make sure all was well and that we were happy. Kyle came out to view the properties tweaked a few things, he instilled confidence. I purchased Pepper tree from this store. I got ProCare service and service man, Joel Lopez, came yesterday. This was a three month check. He was very professional along with his assistant gentleman. They were very friendly, explained thoroughly and demonstrated how I can do better with caring for this tree. He answered all the questions I had. I originally left a very positive review when we first used moon valley nursery - and I realize now I should have waited. In order to get a big sale from me, I got great service initially and was pushed to leave a positive review for them, which I did bc the service was great and I was happy with my purchase, even though I felt it was ridiculously over priced, I was hoping I would get what I paid for. Fast forward 8 months, and 3 of the 6 bougainvillea that I purchased for $350 each are dead. The other 3 are thriving and I was caring for them in the same way. When I contacted moon nursery, they offered to replace the bougainvilleas for me at a discount of $250 each. WTF. Are you kidding me??? You think I want to buy more plants from you???!!! You should replace your piece of crap plants that you sold me to begin with. When I contacted them with a problem, they wanted nothing to do with me and I felt undervalued as a customer. Many of the other plants I purchased and have followed their care guidelines are just doing ok. Nothing special for the steep price I paid. You're better off going to Home Depot for plants at a fraction of the cost and if it dies, you can easily return it and get a replacement. Moon nursery doesn't stand behind their products and they only treat you well if you give them a big sale. After that, your chopped liver. Stay away. Go elsewhere. read more

My yard is not very big but Joseph made me feel like it was the biggest and he wanted to help me make it special. He worked with me to ensure the plants would help enhance the space. Alex arrived almost an hour early. That is ok, we were so excited to get things planted. They made quick work of the job and completed planting everything within an hour. Recently I needed to replace dying hedges in my back yard. I visited Moon Valley Nurseries in Hawthorne, whereby "Grant" assisted me with the appropriate selection of Indian Laurals (a type of ficus). They have an incredibly large lot of land and seemingly endless varieties of great trees and plants for landscaping! I was given very diligent advance directions with regard to the delivery, planting, and care of my new trees. A crew of approximately 5 guys arrived with my trees, and I appreciated how they had me involved with how I wanted the trees oriented and spaced, and made sure that I was happy with the arrangement before they planted. Nick Estrada was the supervisor in charge, and he was incredibly polite and considerate, gave his guys careful instructions, and they worked great as a team! Nick gave me very detailed instructions on the care (ie. watering and other items) with regard to the first week, month, and months to follow. After a year, our little Meyer's dwarf was struggling. I called Moon Valley and Jay got me sorted with a potential insurance replacement and planting to give it a better chance. Mackenzie also confirmed the arrival date. Great office team work. Daniel, Alejandro, Angel, and Javier arrived at 9am and were done with the replacement planting in less than an hour. I have been a customer of Moon Valley for years for purchasing other trees, but I was recently introduced to their services for soil injections. I have a very old historical tree. It's an olive tree over 120 years old and due to some very bad trimming and sun scalding it caught a disease And I thought it was dying. We've been fighting for two years to get my tree to look like it was gonna make it and we were failing miserably. I went out and spoke with Nick my sales person at Moon Valley and he suggested we try their soil injection services on our tree before we gave up. I was so impressed that he would do that rather than trying to just push me into a new tree, and I took his recommendation. Our first arborist Joel, who came out, did an amazing job getting us started, walked me through the process and started the process of injecting the soil all around our tree.He took his time, there were tons of injections, helped me with trimming it and getting it to a state that the Tree was doing better and less stressed. Over the next 30 days, I noticed that it changed in color had a more healthier appearance and even noticed a few new sprouts appearing on what I thought was deadwood. Just had a second injection this week and Raphael, this weeks arborist leveled it up like you can't imagine. He did a whole concoction of vitamins and soil injections, specialized trenching and watering techniques. I'm just so impressed with the steps that they're taking to save my tree. It already looks so much better. They've reassured me that they feel that she's gonna make it and by the signs of just how positive everything is looking for once I have Hope so I am committing to them and if you're in any need of any type of injections for your tree wow these are worth the money. Nick and his team arrived with our excellent timber bamboo ready to plant. They were efficient and knowledgable. We were impressed with their expertise and their ability to handle nervous neighbors too! Nick left us with instructions for care, and cleaned up beautifully. The only way you could tell they were there, was the lovely bamboo they planted. Ramon Morales showed up for our care visit. He trimmed and fertilized assured us the plants were doing as expected.
