Head to the back right corner and you'll find a great deli area with pre-made sandwiches, salads, pastas, etc. From what I could tell nothing made-to-order, but didn't matter since all the pre-made stuff was awesome! Recommend the turkey sandwich on ciabatta and the quinoa salad... hit the spot big time on the trail! We came back on day 2 to grab more trail goodies! read more

They have a wide variety of grab and go vegetarian and vegan options as well as a few meat items (mostly cold though they have a couple of soups and a couple of hot bar items, though the latter was out both times we visited). I worked in Moab for 6 months and I am not exaggerating when I say Moonflower was my favorite part about living there. I'm dairy free, so I was nervous about what food options I would be able to find in a smaller town, but Moonflower has endless options for any dietary need. I L. O. V. E. the deli case! They have ready-made meals that they make in house. Some of their greatest hits include: 1. The vegan chocolate mousse. This was a blessing and a curse (but mostly a blessing) because I would eat this for every single meal if I could. It's so silky and chocolatey and I tell myself the tofu has protein so it deserves to be a diet main staple haha. 2. The tuna salad and wraps are aweeeesome! The only downside is they aren't always there, because again, I would eat one every day. 3. The fresh ciabatta loaf. So good. I would straight up eat half on the drive home. I've visited a fair share of coops throughout my travels and this place is a real gem! I lived off their grab-n-go section during my time in Moab and their prepared food made my hikes so much more enjoyable and satisfying. They're very thoughtful in the ingredients they use in their prepared meals and I'm grateful to them for that. I especially enjoy their baked goods! I love the variety they offered in creativity and all the sweets were low sugar (my preference). I loved this little hippie joint. It was exactly what I needed being so far from home from my organic plant based comfort foods. The staff was super friendly and I went in 3 different days during my week in Moab. The prices are high but to be expected when your in the middle of the desert. Extremely helpful people work there, they have a shockingly well stocked supply of pretty much most things you might need, and the organic/sustainable/gluten free/ vegan options are pretty much non-stop at this little coop. If I moved here I would join the first day. The deli is great as is the assortment of dried fruits/nuts/trail mix. Price wise this is what I am used to in my community, and I definitely never felt like anything was over-priced. read more

I found another unreviewed place...even though it's cheating to pick one in a small town like Moab...but a lot of visitors pass through! Moonflower is the Moab version of Rainbow Foods/Whole Foods - aimed squarely at the natural health, vegan, vegetarian crowd. It's the perfect place to go to stock up on snacks and a picnic lunch before heading to Arches or Canyonlands. For such a small town, they have an impressive variety of goods - for example, they carry more varieties of soy and seitan snacks than the health food stores in SF. They have a bath and body section with lots of great brands. They carry Japanese stoneware bowls and random cookware and housewares. What else makes them special? Gourmet chocolates, employees who make some of the delicious treats like the rice rolls and the huge vegan cookies, bags of dried fruits and nuts perfect for the hike ahead. great little place! we came here today to get some salads after hiking the delicate arch this morning. it's very much a grocery store, but does have a place in the back with to-go items, mostly sandwiches, salads, and wraps. we got the caeser salads, some small bags and chips, and water all for $20! we paid that much money for two ice cream cones up the street. besides good food and prices, staff was friendly and helpful, and the eating area was covered in beautiful local artwork, which I always appreciate. come here if you want a break from greasy tourist traps! they keep it real! read more

Fantastic health food store. Although small, they have everything that you'd need. Bulk grains and herbs, yes! Locally made cosmetics, woot! A HUGE gluten-free selection, with products that I haven't even seen in NYC's many colossal, two-floor Whole Foods. I deducted a star because the produce looked slightly old and unappetizing. But for dry/frozen goods, this place is one of the best health foods stores I've been in, and with extremely reasonable prices. read more

I absolutely love this place. We were staying in Moab for a few days to go to Arches and Canyonlands. We must've gone here like 4 or 5 times. They have hot prepared food to go, sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, healthy snacks and a divine bakery section. I am non dairy and always try to find healthy options. My husband loved their pastrami sandwich. We also tried their tofu chocolate pudding and we both loved it (my husband doesn't like healthy sounding desserts so the fact that he wants me to try and make this at home speaks volumes!). I also tried a lot of their soups: turkey chili, kale and beef, and the white bean escarole soup. I loved all 3. They also do amazing dried mangoes in the fridge section. We bought a few bags and then bought some more before we left. My husband tried their moonflower scone and he really liked it. Not too sweet and moist with a delicious crust. My husband hasn't found a scone he likes in the States yet as he is from the UK so this one really hit the spot. I also had their olive foccacia and it was delicious. We came here because all the reviews on this place said tons of vegan and gluten free options. We got so excited when we saw a Caesar salad with vegan dressing only to find out that it was also covered in cheese! Who makes a Caesar salad with vegan dressing and then dumps cheese on it!? Not only was I super disappointed but also incredibly confused as to why they wouldn't just put vegan cheese on it as well? Utah is weird.. we ended up with salads that were mostly cherry tomatoes and it was fine. I wouldn't say that this place has "a ton" of vegan options as the other reviews say but it was better than nothing. They had a lot of snacky stuff but as far as pre-made food goes, the pickings were slim. read more
