I honestly can't remember what we had, but I know we did a bunch of rolls that were gluten free. Great food! We had a group of nine seniors that arrived in the middle of the afternoon. The food was spectacular. The fresh sushi, the smoked salmon sashimi, and everything we ordered was delicious. It was all so beautifully presented that we should have taken pictures. Their menu is extensive. They have a system where their menus are laminated and you use their erasable pens to make your selections right on the menu. This wasn't initially explained to us, so a bit confusing at first. Our group wanted separate checks for the couples and singles with us, and they accomplished that smoothly and accurately. I thought the music was too loud. I picked up a to go order today after reading great reviews. I moved here from an ocean town so I really miss great sushi. Not only was the sushi great, but the presentation of the to go order was on par with any sushi bar visit I have had. In addition, the service was outstanding. So friendly for a pick up. When I arrived back home, my husband agreed with the presentation score, but then shocked me by stating this was the best sushi he has ever had. I've been searching for a good sushi place close to home and happened to stumble on Okinawa. I was nervous at first with it being in a strip mall but was pleasantly surprised by my entire experience. The staff was great and the food was fantastic! We ordered a rainbow roll, mango roll, hako roll, salmon roe and a sand which all of which were great! I also ordered a miso and house salad to start. The ginger dressing was so good and the salad was fresh and a pretty good size for a side salad. The hako roll was by far my favorite if you like eel. Okinawa is new in town and really good. They were doing a photo shoot while I was there for the new menu. The photographer ate the food after taking pics of it - needless to say, I was super jealous. Salmon was super fresh. I changed some of the rolls up and they gladly accommodated. Staff is friendly and attentive. Decor is super modern and elegant. Even the bathroom is pretty. Their katsu were crispy and tasty. The sushi tasted really good, rolls were good portions and so were the nigiris. I really live their hand rolls here as well. Prices are decent as well. We sat down and were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered food but it took almost an hour for my husband's food to come out. Other people wandered in while we were sitting there and were paying the bill before our food came out. After some Christmas shopping I ordered some takeout from Okinawa. I ordered a spicy crispy tuna and sushi platter for 2. I didn't know what to expect with the crispy tuna. I didn't know what to expect with the crispy tuna and it definitely surprised me. It's a crispy ball of rice with tuna, jalapeño, and sauce on top of the ball. It tasted pretty good but I would have liked a little less rice. The sushi for 2 came with miso soup and that was unfortunately luke warm and lacking in flavor. The sushi platter came with 16 pieces of sushi, tuna roll, avocado roll, and a rainbow roll. Visually the platter was really will put together and nice to look at! I don't usually like salmon but the salmon sushi was really good, the other fish on the platter were just ok in my opinion. The rolls overall just seemed to have so much rice. The rainbow roll was also just average. Despite the downfalls, I would come here again for the salmon. read more

Okinawa has become my local go-to for fresh and delicious sushi and Japanese food. I look forward to them reopening for sit-down dining, but for now they have been very easy to work with, highly reliable, and always fresh and delicious. There are so many things on the menu but like many, I gravitate to specific things and they are always fantastic. They use qMenu for their online ordering and I have found that it works extremely well. It's easy to make selections, modifications, and special requests. They have a very effective setup for reducing contact to near zero. All of the nigiri sushi and sashimi and maki I have had has been outstanding. They have a lengthy list of special rolls which is well worth exploring. I usually only get sushi, but recently a friend requested teriyaki chicken. She ate every bit and said it was so good she wanted to lick the plate. I'm very happy and in comparing them to many MANY other sushi places in the south metro, I feel like they rise to the top.
