O'Connors is an unassuming local dive bar and package store. During the day, there's an older crowd mostly consisting of regulars. Late night the crowd turns very young with college students playing pool and hanging out outside. They have a DJ but I don't think they have live music. Prices are cheap and they do have a food menu for the evenings. Don't expect anything fancy, you can show up here in basketball shorts and flip-flops. but the prices are cheap and they are open seven days a week from 7 AM to 5 AM. That's right only two hours in the day that you can't show up for a drink. read more

A disagreement between two patrons, myself and another happened. And before I knew it a bouncer, without asking me (or the other guy) to leave, physically drags me out of the bar. When I get led outside, I turn around to plead my case to the bouncer and he strikes me in the face, I fall and get back up and he punches me another 2 times as I'm trying to get up off the ground and get away. I left the front of the bar with multiple injuries. I called the bar manager to tell her, that her security just assaulted me, to which she said she would "call me back" but never did. This place is trash and so are the people who employ these thugs at the front door. Save your money and go to a place that doesn't have shitty management and staff. Never come here. read more

Our friends and I were so excited to find a pool bar. Considering we're from out of town, we expected a good time. Unfortunately, we didn't even have 3 minutes before the staff treaded us poorly. One of our friends is from out of state and the bouncer denied her because he "didn't like her ID". We asked for an explanation as to why and they left us with nothing. Once we decided to all leave, we stood outside and conversed our next move to continue the fun; they notified the security to get us off the premises (i wish i was exaggerating). We decided to stand by our car to continue our conversation and again they had security tell us to leave the parking lot and threatened trespassing. We waited 10 minutes to get paid out. We paid and left. The bartender Catherine, came out and yelled at us for not tipping. I let her know that it took a long time to be paid out. She kept yelling and I said goodnight trying to leave because she wouldn't let me get a word over hedge. She kept cursing at us and told us we were banned and to never come back to the bar. I have come to this bar long before the building changed its name, I've been a regular here for over 12 years. I have friends and acquaintances who are employed here and have been for more than half their lives. I remember this place would be swarming with people especially on college night/ladies night, every week and a really popular pub for after party hours for anyone who wasn't ready to call it quits. It seems ever since the name changed, the employment & the clientele has too. I'm commencing the apprehension as to why. It may be because of the pauperized, impecunious employment adjudications with security. Especially when looking at the new guy *cough *David* cough* .. Please excuse my language, but (WHAT A COCK!) seriously. Matt Thompson has been behind the bar there for countless years now, as he should stay. Why after all this time has he not been promoted?? Just my personal input. I don't know anyone with a worse attitude than this new guy David. He looks like Dr. Evil and his unprofessional, bad attitude only drives people away, not rally them in. Poor obligation for any establishment. It will only compel people not want to spend their money in here. I'd like to see the time being better utilized getting rid of him, but then again it's not my bar only my opinion. I do however, apprehend the logic behind the loss of business. read more

Awesome place to go to drink, play pool and eat as the kitchen is open very late. They have awesome karaoke 2 nights a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. But most of all, the staff is TERRIFIC! I have read all reviews posted about O'conners reguarding the management and employees of this establishment some good some bad. And for the fist time I felt empeled to post my own. The good remarks I totally understand. As far as the negative posts. I have to overlook and or forgive there ignorance. You see I was taught to just except and or overlook the mentally challenged. Myself being new to town knowing noone. Having no place to call my regular spot. But I only have this to say. I was not only surprised but literally amazed at the warmth and kindness I was shown the very first time I walked in the door. By all. Not only the employees but the patrons aswell. Now there are a few the stand out over the rest as far as perfecionalzem and over all kindness. Some that just give you the warm welcome feeling without even trying. For example a very friendly and I might add attractive bartender Zulma treated me like she has known me for years. And she's not the onlyone. This place gave me crabs as soon as I walked in! And not the stone kinds the actual lil bastards that crawl in your pubes. The women are gorgeous and combined all the patrons have a grand total of 22 teeth! I cannot rave about this place enough. They even let you eat your chalupa s from Taco Bell across the street in their bar! Makes blue martini look like a dump! Found a human toe in the parking lot once and I kept it as a souvenir because I'm not from boca. They sell cancer sticks, and vodka too in their lil store! Dosent get much nicer than this joint. Exactly what you would expect in a town with as much money as boca! Next time im back in town ill try a herpe and tonic and shoot pool with the local junkies! Bliss! read more
