Great place for a nice breakfast and take home sourdough bread, cookies and cakes for later. The service and staff were wonderful. The restaurant was so cozy and you can have your meal in the beautiful plaza. We will definitely be back. Lots of great parking nearby.

Visited for an afternoon snack after hiking at Purisima Creek with friend. Purchased at counter then sit in the back to relax and unwind. There were lots of baked goods to choose from. These are what I ordered. Huge cup of coffee Hungarian cheese cake has top half cheesecake, some fruits then shortbread. It was Okay. Hazelnut Rings - shortbread with whole hazelnuts and dark chocolate. This was really good cuz I love nuts and chocolate.

Delicious bakery items and lattes. 4/5 stars because that's what I mainly came for. My husband & I visited on a Saturday morning and the line was out the door but the wait wasn't bad (less than 10 minutes). We ordered danishes, a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Delicious pastries & the vanilla latte was perfect. The breakfast sandwich was a let down. It was basic and it took 20 minutes to come out. The folx sitting down looked to have yummy food so it may just be the item I ordered. I recommend visiting and supporting especially if you love baked goods!

Well what can I say! Moonside Bakery & Cafe has been around for years. I am 30 years old and I would go to Moonside Bakery since I was a little girl! Half Moon Bay has delicious food options but Moonside Bakery & Cafe by far is my favorite! They have tons of options to choose from! If you are looking for a hardy breakfast or a delicious lunch this is the place to go to! OMG!! Don't forget about the delicious desserts!!! My favorite is the raspberry thumb print cookies and the half moon dark chocolate apricot filled dessert! Wait don't forget your latter paired with the deliciously soft and sweet dessert! Trust me you won't be disappointed! Thank you Moonside Bakery & Cafe for being such a nostalgic place for me and keeping your flavors rich! The service is always great! Kind staff and welcoming ambiance! My family loves it and now my husband does to! I am happy to have been able to share this experience with my husband that I have experienced since I was a little girl! Blessings!

We stayed at the mill rose house and as a perk we got free breakfast for two at this restaurant each day. We ate here twice, both meals were spectacular, outdoor seating on sunny mornings is lovely. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but if you are looking for breakfast and not interested in a diner this is a great spot right on Main Street.

The ambience is cozy, charming, and totally Instagram-worthy. The desserts are creative and unique, while the in-house whipped cream is absolutely delicious. Coffee is sourced from outside but still enjoyable. Parking is limited to street parking, so plan accordingly.

Located in Downtown Half moon Bay, this is a great local bakery. Shared indoor seating area, excellent selection of cookies, muffins, cakes and desserts. I love their huge blueberry muffins and half moon bay shaped cookies!

    Key lime tart

I was able to go to this bakery in half one day and get some sweet treats. I got the lemon tart and Edna cookies. The tart was cooked perfectly and had great Keylime flavor. My only suggestion is that I would love the crust to be a little bit thinner and more filling added. The Edna cookies tasted like fall pumpkin spice cookies with a maple glaze on top and raisins and almond stirred in. They do have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to sweet desserts. I also believe that they have a food menu, but didn't happen to check out the food.

At first I was overwhelmed. There was so many goodies and a lot of people ahead of us, but staff was super friendly and helpful and answered questions about certain items I was wanting more information on. In the end we opted for about 5-6 different cookie, pastries, muffin and flatbread for later. All of them were great and came in handy late at night in the hotel room when we were craving something sweet.

I gotta try something from most bakeries I pass. I ordered this pastry that I had never seen before - it was a piped shortbread half circle, filled with almond orange jam, and dipped in chocolate. Unique and tasty! The iced tea was fine, not too bitter or too soapy. My friend ordered a cappuccino and a pecan biscotti which tasted very freshly made. Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - street parking nearby (check for 2 hour limit signs, apparently they're strict!)

    Orange Almond cookie

We stopped here after a hike for a snack. I was delighted to see the orange almond cookies, as I have never seen that variety of cookie before. It was delicious: chewy and a little crispy at the ends. My husband had a chocolate chip cookie and a hot chocolate and deemed both to be great. The service is efficient and friendly! I would definitely return here when I am back in the area.

Average pastries at premium prices. The palmier was flat and stale, instead of buttery and flaky. Would not come back.

I love this local coffee place. They have sweet breads. And quiche. And little sandwiches. And house Made soup of the day. Of course, all kinds of coffees, and teas, and hot chocolate. And if you really need it some sodas and waters. Today's coffee for me was just a simple latte. A delicious one to be sure! I recommend when you order yours that you get it for consumption at Cafe Society, in a nice cup. Many times a month. They also have live music including jazz, and many other things. If you happen to play the piano, or have some sort of instrument you can bring with you, Cafe Society is also amenable to having you come in at the moment and entertain the crowd. There are two pianos on site., A pair of pianists who show up that wants to duel could probably do it. Separate rooms in the cafe. But that would make it all the more enjoyable for people sitting in the middle listening to a piano duel. And with the way the tables are arranged at the current time, access to electrical outlets at more than a couple of tables is available. So Cafe Society makes a great place for your day's adventure. Stop to enjoy a little recharge of both your body, and your devices. Their bathroom is always kept clean. Even to the point of letting your child go in alone. On any given day, there is parking within a reasonable walking distance, if not directly out in front. Cafe Society is located on Main Street in half Moon Bay. It's both easy to find, and easy to miss. So keep your eyes open. But if you do happen to miss it, they are located in the ground floor of the Odd Fellows Hall building. If you're looking up, look for the eyeball staring back at you at the roofline. Somewhat friendly during the daytime. Somewhat spooky at night But always an attention grabber. LOL I totally recommend Cafe Society and half Moon Bay. They've been around for a long time. There are many reasons for it. And those reasons are the motivation for my visits, again and again.

Food portions are generous and the flavors are spot on. The Half Moon tea is the best option - the Maverick tea is more for the blue wave dessert. The owner makes all the food from scratch! The owner/chef was on the premises. She walked around and spoke with each table. Such a lovely person! The tea sandwiches were lovely. My friend particularly enjoyed the curried chicken tea sandwich. As a vegetarian who eats a lot of vegetables & grains, I enjoyed the "I Hate Kale" salad, but my friend, who does not eat this kind of thing on a regular basis, mentioned how good it was too. It was a nutty mixture of couscous and small bits of kale. There were even pine nuts (which are not really nut) in it. The Pièce de résistance, however, were the scones. There are six varieties, and also a gluten-free variety. I tried the Cranberry Pistachio & Rosemary. I've never had a better scone. It was served slightly warm and practically melted in my mouth. My friend ordered the Strawberry & White Chocolate w/Himalayan Pink Salt scone. We each tasted the other's scones and agreed that they were both amazing. I believe those two flavors are the top flavors at By the Teashore. I highly recommend them. The scones were so good in fact that I took two home and my friend took one of each home! In addition to the food, the ambience and decor are perfect. The walls are decorated with vintage photos and other ephemera. Each tea pot has a cute little cozy. The chairs are comfortable. They are the kind that come up a bit on each end of the backrest so women can hang their purses off their chairs without them sliding to the floor. Outside, the entire establishment is painted pink, so you will definitely not miss it. There is an eating area out front for warm days, or if you have a dog with you. The railing is decorated with colorful tea pots repurposed as planters. The porch is decorated with a variety of Victorian paraphernalia, including several vintage-looking bird cages.
