Ulises Renteria was fantastic. He arrived right at the start of the estimated appointment time. With his experience in the industry, he was able to ask the important questions which drilled down to the root cause of the issue. My HVAC system worked working after a heat surge. He looked at the unit and replaced circuit board. He also highly advised on adding surge protector to the furnace to protect against future surge events. After replacing board he further diagnosed and found and replaced the damaged single pole contactor. The repair took two separate days due to ordering of equipment, but scheduling was a breeze and he made quick work of replacing necessary parts of the system. It is now back to being operational and cooling. The total cost was about $2.3k, which is on the higher price but reasonable (per online forums) due to model of the unit. This is for my families home where we care for elderly family, and it's very important to have the proper company to get the unit fixed. I called after getting an estimate from another company, and wanted to get a second estimate. I thought Moore mechanical might be a reputable company so I called. Spoke with Johnathan who I explained in great detail our families situation and how frustrating things have been. I explained we just want honest and licensed people who are kind and want to do good for their customers... I answered all his questions and he didn't like that I didn't know certain information. He became very combative to me and telling me I didn't need to be upset. He was intentionally making the conversation about him and he was definitely in his feelings. I didn't yell or shout I simply explained I already told you the cordesnsor was on the ground, why are you still asking me if it's on the roof???? His attitude was piss poor and literally the worst customer service experience I've ever had to date. He continued to target my increasing agitation and making it about him. Knowing I was in a vulnerable way when I even called because I explained to him. I would not recommend this company and after seeing all the 1 star reviews I understand. They are taking advantage of people and it shows. How someone could not have compassion on the phone with someone who clearly was expressing despair, is just beyond me. Our AC didn't work when we tried to turn it on during a recent hot spell, so we contacted Moore Mechanical due to multiple successful repairs in the past. Anthony came out to repair our system and provided top level service. We had to have a part replaced and a new thermostat installed due to failure of our old Nest. Anthony also did some additional diagnostics which will be helpful as the capacitor on our unit is degrading as they tend to do. We opted to wait to see if it lasts another season. I would like to provide a feedback to Moore Mechanical that their "AI voice assistant" is not so good. I would rather just leave my name and number for a callback if it is after hours or your service rep/dispatcher is busy with another customer. Edit: I thought about this experience for a while and decided that something is off regarding the pricing. I feel that even accounting for the service tech's excellence, the cost of parts, the economy, and other associated costs, the pricing is too high. Extremely disappointing experience with Moore Mechanical. I had an AC issue, and the company sent me a quote before going onsite. When I asked for more details, they said it was just an estimated amount and roughly $900+. After the technician visited, my tenant told me the technician was only there for about 30 minutes to fix the issue. However, Moore Mechanical later revised the invoice and added two full hours of labor for that case. This revised invoice was received nearly half month after the technician onsite.....(onsite was 9/15, invoice received on 10/1) with total amount $579..... I replied to the invoice and pointed out that the technician only stayed for 30 minutes, but I never received any response. I've called several times to follow up, yet the issue remains unresolved. I called the company just now, The staff said that that their management team would reach out to me.... This whole experience makes me seriously question the company's integrity and customer service. Frustrating experience with Moore Mechanical today. Called this morning (12/8) since our heater was not working and it is very cold outside. Spoke with "someone" and I asked if this was AI and "he" responded "yes". Could hear typing in the background when I answered his questions (very clever of them to replicate a human's activity) and he asked if I could take an appointment today from 8-12. I jumped on it (I'm cold). Well, at 12:01 pm I received a call from Moore saying they were returning my call. I reviewed prior conversation with AI and the woman said that they did not have any appointments today, that their AI wasn't really being used, and did I want to make an appointment. Moore sent a technician out for a $99 "diagnosis," but what they don't tell you is that they can take as long as they want. They ended up charging me for 3.5 hours of diagnosis, while another HVAC contractor identified the exact same issue in 30 minutes. Moore later told me the replacement part was covered under manufacturer warranty but their labor cost to install a warrantied part was over $3,000. On top of that, they pushed an $8,000+ HVAC replacement as an alternative. I brought in another HVAC company, and they fixed the issue quickly for a fraction of the cost. read more

They came by our church to check our furnace and said it needed a control board and maybe a fan. They wanted $3000 for the repair, so I told the pastor I would look at it. The blower was fine and they were right the $60 control board needed to be replaced. They charged $225 to look at it and that was fine (a little high) but $3000 for the repair? I cannot believe how I was taken for a ride by Keith from this business. I called them because my Carrier furnace's ignition would go on and again switch off after 2-3 mins. The furnace was installed by a Carrier authorized dealer 10 years ago . I have two other Carrier furnaces in the house installed at same time and it has never been a problem with the other two. I knew that this was the same problem a few years ago when we had shortened the intake and exhaust pipes . At that point a HVAC repair man had come and placed a proper HVAC "termination Kit " on the flutes and problem had been rectified. We had done a major remodel of the deck recently and the builder repeated the same mistake of termination of the flutes not to the outside but behind a very nice decorative metal grill next to an outside fountain. When Keith from Moore Mechanical arrived I explained the situation to him and asked if that could the reason for the burner going off ? In that case I would just ask my general contractor to redo the flutes by redirecting the two PVC pipes through a new opening on the outside stucco. Keith snapped at me saying, " do you want me to address your problem of the furnace or your contractor?" I was a bit shocked at his retort and decided to keep quiet- I let Keith do his diagnostics. He immediately found fault with my flex metal conduits for the two furnace's gas intake. He also stated that my P trap to the furnace was not right and it needed to be redone and terminated properly after cleanup. He never bothered to tell me why he thought they were not terminated properly. I told him that both my furnaces have been working fine since installation and the only change was the termination of the flute for this particular furnace due to recent deck remodel. He took a bunch of pictures and then came with an estimate -to make everything "right " would be $5260. No word about what the issue was with the burner ignition going off. He knew that I was not buying his word of the " existing faulty installation" of my furnaces that had no problem for past 10 years. He again said the furnaces had not been "maintained" properly and said that Moore Mechanical can do a biannual maintenance of my furnaces under a platinum or gold plan for $2556 or $1764 / year After an hour of meddling around with the furnace and seeing the ignition go on and off several times and after disconnecting taking and reapplying the tubing on the furnace he came to the conclusion that the : (1) gas valve (2) flame sensor needs to be REPLACED for a total cost of $1427. He charged me the agreed $99 inspection fee and sent me a written estimate for all the work he proposed should be done. I asked him -if after the gas valve and flame sensor is changed would I still need to get the flutes terminated properly? His answer, "you should do whatever method was used earlier " No emphasis stating that the flute was the problem with the flames going off abruptly. I was not comfortable about the recommended repair work by Moore Mechanical-I called a certified Carrier repair dealer who came from Pacifica. He immediately confirmed that the issue was intake and outflow pipes , did a quick demo by cutting the intake pipe ( see first picture) and letting it get the air inflow by opening the door of the closet from the adjacent bedroom. I have now got the intake and outlet flutes out to the outside with a proper HVAC vent termination cap and the furnace works fine ! No need for gas valve or ignitor change! The purpose of writing this long review is to let other customers know (who may be gullible) and fall trap to such unscrupulous HVAC contractors as Moore Mechanical. Fortunately for me, this furnace in question is at a lower level of the house , which we very occasionally use and I did not have an urgent need to address the furnace ignition problem. I waited to get a second opinion for another contractor. If I was in a bind and did not have the past experience of the flute termination to be the problem I would have spent thousands for an unneeded replacement of gas valve and ignitor which was not the problem anyway! The attached pictures show how a diagnosis was done by letting the intake of air from adjacent room and second and third picture show the final configuration for the flute! beware!! I think Moore Mechanical owner ought to take some responsibility for this encounter and should provide proper ethical training to all its employees. There is always an opportunity to make money but not in this unscrupulous way. To make matters right for me Moore Mechanical should refund $99 I paid for such bad service and recommendations and send me a formal apology. I would give 0 or a negative rating to this business for such unscrupulous HVAC contractors out there!! Buyer beware!!! read more

So we called them to come out and give us an estimate on what was going on with a very old heater. They said that they would send us a report that I never received. But I did get the bill. So they obviously had the right email. When I called they told us that it couldn't be repaired and the company had gone out of business more than 40 years ago. Some of that's true but OK so we hire them for $4000 to replace our heater in the heater itself only costs $1100 retail, so the rest of it was their labor. They chose the unit. They did all the investigating. Looked up the flu with a camera. Did all kinds of stuff. Installed it and it doesn't draw right. It won't work. Now they tell us that that unit needs a bigger flu and it will cost us $3500 more to make it right, and that does not include repairing the sheet rock after they tear all the walls out in both the downstairs unit and the upstairs unit. Excuse me? You chose the unit to put in there. You did the investigation to determine what would fit in there. You even looked at the flu with a camera so you knew exactly what it was. You're the professionals who are making $2500 in labor for a three hour installation. You blew it and now you want me to pay more money? I ask you people, are these the kinds of "experts" that you want to do business with? Personally, I want my money back. read more
