Just a few of their desserts!

Pulled pork is so tender and tasty! Morenos cake ladies always show their creativity and talent with artistic mastery. Steve makes the best cookies in town and the servers are always friendly and caring! THE place we go!

Im really usually here for the guava turnovers and anything else sweet. My aunt loves their chicken and rice but I have a sweet tooth, so yeah, I go to a bakery for baked goods. I like tge atmosphere, they can be very busy on the weekends and during the lunch rush. Everyone I encountered was very nice and warm. My daughter and I love this bakery for our girl dates.

The moment you step into Moreno bakery your senses is assaulted with the smells and tastes of Cuban/Latin cooking. Sometimes I wish they could capture this scent in a candle; I'd buy a dozen. The braised pork is delish. The chicken in yellow rice is outstanding. The meat empanadas are soooo good! They have Cuban sandwiches on two different style breads and you can build your own sandwich. Then there is the bakery side. Miles of shelves with soooo many baked goods. The fudge brownie cookies are fantastic!!

Busy for a Sunday morning. Great coffee quick pastries and hot food available. We had the breakfast sandwich and cafe con leche as well as a few pastries. Delicious fresh and quick. Don't hesitate to try them if you are in the area.

Literally my favorite bakery in Brandon. The tres leche top tier the best I've event had. They didn't have the pineapple upside down cake which is too two for me. The original cannolis were not available which is number 3 for me. But I was able to get my number one the tres leche so it was a successful trip. There is seating inside and they also have a hot bar with Cuban food. The service is great but they do move fast it can get busy.

Overall, this was definitely an excellent discovery even though it's been here awhile. Customer service friendly, courteous and patient, delicious food and great prices! Menus available on-line as well as on table upon entry and satisfies varieties of taste palates. Orders placed at counter for dining-in or take-out. If dining in, food is delivered to your table. Seating is spacious. Also noticed there appears to be another room on inside perhaps for private or larger parties. Parking is plentiful with ramp close to entrance. Ordered a bowl of Caldo Gallego (Spanish bean) soup -- it was delicious. Also ordered the lunch special Pescado a La Rusa which came with black beans and yellow rice (I requested sides of chopped onions & vinegar) - no up charge. The order came with cuban bread and olive butter. Lunch special is a very generous portion Spanish-style whitefish filet, yellow rice complemented by small cups of seasoned black beans (plus onions & vinegar as requested). Leftover portions of bread, fish, black beans and yellow rice placed in take-home two containers and enjoyed for breakfast. My guests each ordered the cuban sandwich (A La Pancha) hot pressed. Both orders were cut in half (thankfully) as each sandwich was large and also quite satisfying. One sandwich was completely devoured, the second guest needed a take-home container for the second half. Bottomline: La Septima is a Brandon gem. The menu, flavorful foods, customer service and comfortable setting, location and costs are very competitive. Other than water, beverage options include Coke products, coffee plus sweet/unsweet tea or Spirits. La Septima is located at 702 W Lumsden Rd in the Via Viva Plaza on the northwest corner of Lumsden Rd and Kings Ave intersection. Special offers also include catering packages for large and small events, parties and various festivities or special occasions. Desserts also available. Hours are Monday - Saturday from 11:00am - 8:00pm; (813) 685-0502

I didn't know about this place until my Yelp friend Tim wrote an awesome detailed review about it…read more It took me a while to try it, but I finally did last year. He was very right. Naida makes some tasty Cuban sandwiches here for a good price. The star of the sandwich is Naida's roast pork. It's well seasoned and it totally makes this sandwich shine. I usually get it with everything, but I keep forgetting that they'll include onions if you ask for it "all the way." It's good with or without it, but I prefer it without. Just keep that in mind and be specific if you don't want onions on your sandwich. Naida also makes the best café con leche. I sometimes go there just for Cuban toast and that awesome coffee. It gives me energy! They have a small hot bar area of daily offerings with some kind of rice and beans. It may change daily. I haven't ordered a platter, but I will one day. They do have a tasty arroz con salchichas side item. My mom used to make it sometimes with those little canned Vienna sausages. Yeah, it's a comfort thing for me. They also make wonderful breakfast sandwiches and ham croquettes. El Cuba Cafe is hidden inside of a Circle K convenience store on Bell Shoals Road. It's directly across the street from Publix at Bloomingdale Square. I know it has Cuba in the name, but their is a lot of Puerto Rican representation here. That may also be why I'm so fond of it. It's also super convenient, and the service is great. I usually drive in the back way to avoid all the construction nearby. There's no dining area. You just order your meal and take it with you. It's a no frills kind of place. A real hidden gem!

A lot goes into a restaurant review…read more It's not just the food. I'm not going to forever score a restaurant based off an appetizer and a dish...so I have to take everything into account. It is the whole experience. Before you even open the doors, this place looks magical. Opening the doors confirms what your imagination was pre-planning. It is absolutely fantastical. You're instantly transported back decades. The menu, the service, the decor, the ambience... Everything was top-notch. They probably could've served TV dinners, and I would still give this a four star review minimum. We started with some empanada appetizers which were delicious. My dad ordered the famous Cuban sandwich which, I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was a little dry. Definitely did not seem world, famous, although the bread was fantastic. I ordered, I don't know what I ordered, it was something that I had never tried before, which is what I like to do. I order things that I'm not going to ever cook in my own kitchen. It was ground meat with an assortment of Cuban flavors and delicate rice. It was good. The star of the show was the white chocolate bread pudding. It might be the best bread pudding I've had in my entire life, certainly top five. My dad doesn't like bread, pudding, and even he thought it was pretty ridiculous. The second star of the show was the Coke. I don't know what they serve... But the Coke was refreshing. The prices were very reasonable compared to the entire experience. I would for sure go back on a regular basis. Pretty much, if you are in the neighborhood, you have to go here.

Absolutely loved it The guy at the front was on point the whole time. Even coming in right after the lunch rush, he made sure everything stayed clean and organized while still taking care of customers. That kind of attention to detail does not go unnoticed They were out of the sweet teas (I was hurt a little bit ), but overall the experience was still really good. Now let's get into the food because you already know that's what we're here for The chicken empanadas? Delicious. No complaints. The Cuban sandwich? It was good... but I'm gonna keep it real like I always do. The meat was flavorful, but it could've been more evenly distributed, and it didn't have that crispy bread texture I look for. Overall, it just didn't hit that top-tier level for me. So for this location: 8/10 Still a solid experience, still worth the visit -- but as of right now, the Wesley Chapel location is still holding that 10/10 crown And you already know I'm not done... They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.
