    Smash Burger with jalapeño

One of the best burgers in Austin. They have a smash burger and a brisket thick burger. The smash burger is huge, and the brisket is supposedly bigger. Friendly service and I will be back for the brisket burger

I have been following Moreno Burger for a while now on Instagram. Good story how they have this location up and doing well. That is nice to see. I did make my way over on Sunday to hit up a burger. I decided on the smash burger and a side of fries. I added the grilled jalapenos. The vibe of the service was a bit off. Maybe too early on Sunday? I don't know. Typical stand in line, order and they bring it to you. Being critical, the burger was over salted and the presentation was not the best. It looked thrown together. The fries were ok. They could have been cooked a pinch longer. In retrospect I should have ordered the smoke burger. I saw a few others had that order and it looked much better. A bit better than "mid".

This place hit the SPOT. I'm always looking for delicious burgers and I've added this to my list. I order their smash burger with loaded chili fries. The burger was perfectly cooked with the sweet bread, grilled onions and melted cheese. The fries were just as good, I had to split because it was so much food. Plenty of parking and seating at this spot, right off Menchaca. I will definitely be going back!

So glad they opened a brick and mortar for this part of their business. Don't pass this up whether its a burger from here or their BBQ. Burger was full of flavor, juicy and worth every calorie. Will absolutely be back to try all of the burgers on the menu, the burger in the pic is smash burger. Cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Moreno Burger recently joined inKind, so I decided to give them a try. I had the Smoked Burger since I thought that was a unique option. It was good, but looking around at everyone's El Jefe Smash Burgers, I think I chose wrong. Will need to go back and get that as it looked awesome. Took a bit of time to get my burger, so plan for a bit of a wait.

We've been on a mission to explore Austin's burger scene recently, and today we ended up at Moreno Burger Co on the South side. Moreno is first a BBQ spot (and a damn good one at that), and they recently started a Burger exclusive off-shoot where they cook up both sloppy salty smash burgers as well as decadent half-pound brisket burgers. Both options are awesome, and hell yea to two different types of tallow fried fries! Scoring was as follows: Presentation - 3/5 Quality - 4/5 Taste - 4/5 Overall - 4/5 They are open Wednesday - Sunday, which I believe allows them to focus and maintain high quality (ingredients, service, etc.). Speaking of service, the staff was incredible when we visited! Super friendly and helpful. It is counter service, but they did go above and beyond. Location is alright... just off busy Menchaca, but at least it's accessible! The only major feedback we had was as follows: - Could have had a better more substantial bun. - Would have enjoyed a "special sauce" on it! - Presentation could overall have been cleaner - Maybe reduce the size of the half pound patty a touch. LOT of meat! - Fries could have been a little warmer when they arrived. Anyhow, thanks again Moreno!

Went here on a Wednesday night and it was delicious! Service is order at the counter ( or online).there are plenty of dining tables inside and one large picnic style table with an umbrella for shade outside. Each table offers napkins, ketchup plus salt and pepper. I ordered their cheeseburger and sweet potato fries and my partner got the brisket burger. Both burgers were delicious and very filling. If I'm being honest, his- the brisket burger was slightly better than just the cheeseburger due to the extra thick cut of brisket. The fries were very good too but could've benefited from some extra salt and specialty aioli or sauce. They were just a bit plain. Service was fast and fairly friendly. Would definitely come back and try another burger

Wow what an amazing burger. Got the el jefe which is as big as my head. Fortunately, I hadn't eaten breakfast. Smash patties, guacamole, bacon, pico and an egg - what a feast. The beef tallow curly fries are perfectly crispy. Yum, I'll be back.

Moreno Burger is basically the old Moreno BBQ location , it just turned into their burger and sandwich location ( Moreno BBQ moved to Southpark Meadows). This is my wife and my favorite burger, and we've had many in Austin . Firstly, your burger is cooked to order, so order it and have a sit . The burgers are seasoned well and tasty. We order the burger without any ketchup or mustard as we like the flavor of how it's prepared. Always made perfectly. The fries are great , crispy and well seasoned . If you are looking for a great lunch , this is your place- fyi not open on Mon- Wed.

Texas Heat Smash Burger and Gouda Mac

Slap your mama good sandwich and burger! I've been meaning to try this place and swung by before trivia a while back. I just did a to go order, so I didn't get to stay for the full vibey experience, but the place is nice enough and easy to get to, the service was nice and fast, and I would definitely recommend either the Texas Heat Smash Burger or Brisket Philly. The fries and the gouda mac were alright. Nothing special with the fries and the gouda mac was giving school cafeteria. However, as someone who makes phillys at home, I would definitely say this one was worth it. This was a BIG sandwich that you just have to dive into and prepare to get a little messy. It's so worth it. The burger was meaty and spicy and just everything I'm looking for in a good smash burger.

Rated in Texas Monthlys top 100, I see why. Came here after leaving Leroys BBQ. It's only 3 minute drive from there. Boy am I glad our group of 4 did! Parking- was easy. We arrived on a Friday afternoon. The place is not too big, so even a small crowd makes it look full. We must have hit the jackpot because there was zero line, and we were able to order immediately, yasss! There is inside and outside seating. And it was clearing out as went to sit, so we were able to locate seats easily. Service- easy breezy. We were served and seated immediately with our food. Staff were friendly. I think we even got some free samples while in line as well. Food- we basically ordered 4 meats and 4 sides total. We did this so we could try more of there menu. I'm so glad we did it this way. The brisket/sausage was juicy and tender. The gouda mac & cheese (while not my preference of preparation) was pretty yum! Left stuffed. I was VERY tempted to order the brisket grilled cheese, but decided to be a good girl and not over do it. The place has bbq, burgers and breakfast tacos, what's not to like? Between the friendly service, really good BBQ, and the zero wait time, this was easily a highlight for me. Definitely recommend!

We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

We arrived and in a few minutes we were seated at a table and immediately given water in mason jars and asked for our drink order. I opted just got an Arnold Palmer but the drink menu had some cute cocktails and mocktails, as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. Instead of bread, our server brought us a basket of seasoned popcorn. The popcorn had almost like a Cajun flair, but it wasn't spicy. It reminded me of the Ground Round chain from when I was a little girl. We decided to try the corndog shrimp appetizer. I couldn't decide on an entree because everything looked so good, so I did the Parmesan chicken and my coworker did the steak salad. The shrimp arrived so quickly with four large pieces of shrimp on a stick wrapped in corn dog batter and fried to a golden brown, with a blueberry mustard dipping sauce. The shrimp were delicious and while I didn't get much of the blueberry in the mustard, I enjoyed the sweetness it provided. My Parmesan chicken was a crispy and juicy breaded chicken cutlet with a lemon cream, artichoke hearts, and what appeared to be prosciutto on top. It was served with a side of pesto couscous with grape tomatoes and cucumbers. I wish I had ordered mashed potatoes on the side, because I wanted something to soak up the lemon cream sauce, which was the highlight of the chicken. We also were served 3 mini cornbread muffins with honey butter. My coworker said the salad was just okay, and was a little on the small side. The desserts were definitely a MUST and if you visit Moonshine and don't save room for the Espresso Brownie or the Peanut Butter Pie, you're going to regret it. The brownie was so fudgey and warm and served with ice cream. It was decadent. The peanut butter pie was the biggest slab of PB pie I've ever had with a thick Oreo crust. I wish I had someone with me to share it, it was huge. Overall, if I lived in the area I would definitely be back to try other things.

Quite honestly, I was full after eating 1/4 of the sandwich, which had cabbage, pickles and of course the pork (not the typical stringy pork but chunks of pork bursting with smokey flavor). The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. The country style pork ribs are fantastic - tender to the bone, succulent with flavors, but not a rub that's overwhelming on the palate. There's not much else - the scant amount of coleslaw is lacking, and even though we ordered two entrees, we received only one dinner role. I asked for extra bread and got charged $4 for two more rolls which is annoying and also a poor business practice. It's also confusing how you order two things for two different people and it all ends up on the same plate. And then they asked if we were sharing? The value simply isn't here - total bill ended up being $75 before tax and tip. For three ribs and overdone brisket. I suppose there were some onion rings and pickles in there as well.
