I am a maniac for a good smash burger and the folks at Jab's have it nailed down to a science. A burger art, if you will. They've only been around since 2023 but I am telling you right now, the stuff they put out is legendary. Facts. They're also part of the group that brings you Shawarma Point &The Mighty Cone. The idea of a really good smash burger is for those edges to be the right amount of crispy while the patty is packed with juice and flavor. More times than not, places will over-crisp those edges causing a dried out, less than flavorful, burger. Definitely not the case with Jabs. Those edges are proper. The patty is proper. I had The Sissy (no sauce): One patty, cheese, pickles, grilled onions, potato roll...potato rolls MAKE the smash burgers I tell you. Absolutely perfect. My boyfriend had The OG which is the same only with two patties. He had the Jabs sauce on his and loved it. Shared an order of fries and they were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We actually couldn't finish the fries because we were so full from scarfing down the burgers like lunatics. Hands down one of the best burgers I've had in quite some time. They have a couple of locations but I have only been to this Rainey Street food truck. Fast & friendly service. read more

If this is the "best" burger in Austin, the city is doomed. After reading the rave reviews and about the plans for expansion, my husband and I decided to check it out. Huge mistake. I ordered (self-service on a machine that demanded a tip) a "sissy" with a jalapeño and he ordered an OG with fries. We fully expected to have our food within 15-30 minutes. Didn't happen. Even though it wasn't busy and there were four employees "working" inside the food truck, we waited 52 minutes. Yes, I counted because the 1-hour parking meter was running. Within a few minutes of finally getting the food, we tried the fries. They were cold and inedible without their sauce. The burgers were sahara desert dry and the only real distinctions between them are their names, price, and size. The best thing about the burger was the bun, which they don't even make. I'm not sure which is worse: the dry a** burgers or the service. Remember I ordered jalapeño? Didn't get it. I also didn't get the sauce, not until I went back because they forgot that too. There was nothing on our burgers but cheese even though we made no mods. On top of that, no one bothered to clean up the picnic tables where we're supposed to eat. So there were dirty glasses and trash everywhere. All in all, I would never return. In-N-Out has a better burger. Hopdoddy has a better smashburger. Shake Shack has better both. Literally go elsewhere. We wasted lots of time and overpaid only to be underwhelmed. read more

One of best smash burgers I've had! Made to order and piping hot, I got the KO with 3 patties with everything. Added the fries too. The burger was phenomenal! Juicy with crispy edges nice and cheesy with grilled onions and tasty pickles. The potato bun soaked up all the flavor of the meat and the sauce went perfectly with the burger. The fries were hot and crisp and tasted freshly cut. Nicely seasoned as well. Great portions for the price as well! Service was fast as it came out in about 5 minutes and everything was made fresh to order. It's a nice AstroTurf area where the truck is located but in a busy spot so you may have to hunt for parking. read more

For a random place I just walked into off the street, this place was shockingly good. My burger was perfectly smashed, with a lot of crispy bits & perfectly melted cheese. It really hit the spot. The fries were pretty good as well. Service was pretty quick considering they were busy. You order off an iPad & then get a text when your food is ready. Jabs is the new name of this spot tucked in on Rainey St. Short menu burgers fries and drinks. I was greeted with friendly service, with outdoor seating in the shade. Super flavorful meat patties. Very juicy and not smashed paper thin. I've have plenty of smash burgers . Most of which had unflavored dry meat. A whole lot of lipstick and mascara. Jabs on the other hand checks all the good boxes. They have it down packed. No frills. Just a str8 up smash burger!! Fries were made fresh. Super crispy and well seasoned. When in the area. This is now called JABS. This is a food truck in a craft beer lot on Rainey street. Hussain said his burgers are the best and showed me the award he won for Austin's best burger. He did not lie or disappoint. The burger has flavors of char from the grill and even though it's smashed, it's not super thin. It has some meat and flavor to it. The sauce is really good. So I've actually had JABS before from Fareground, did not realize that Peace Love & Burgers was the original name. But the burgers/fries here were just as good as the ones I had previously tried in Fareground. Classic Burger - smash burger with the classic vegetable accompaniments (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles). Just overall a very very good quality burger, the smash on the beef patties was quite crispy and juicy, and all the ingredients were fresh. Fries - The fries are a great compliment to the burger, they are the seasoned fries sort, and are quite crispy, but not crunchy (which is how I prefer them). read more

If could give 0 stars I would this is the worst service waited 40mi. In line to be told they couldn't serve food because they didn't plan for enough gas. And they informed no customer untill reaching the front of the line. Absolutely horrible business. read more

We ordered and he asked us to leave him a review. So honest review the OG burgers are really good, seasoned well smashed patties, gushy buns. Came across this food truck during a bike ride downtown with my daughter. We were hungry and decided to take a break and conveniently came across this burger joint, and boy were we happy we did. In my opinion, this is hands down the best burger in Austin. I've gone out of my way to try all the "hype" burger joints that require patience and problem solving just to get into, and none of them hold a candle to this food truck. This is a must try, and is a bit hidden off the beaten path but totally worth seeking out. Service was friendly, location was perfect for a food truck court. Can't wait to be back. read more
