My wife and I visited this place today from her recommendation since she visits a bordering business often and was curious. Place looks nice inside, waitress didn't know anything about wine, but that was expected, she looked young. I ordered a shredded beef chimmy and my wife ordered two tacos. The beef in the chimmy was tasteless, I mean no taste whatsoever, just meat, dough and cheese. I'm not sure what it was, but something in that chimmy had an odd taste that stayed with me for hours. My wife's tacos were similar to most Mexican restaurants around here, soggy. I'm not sure if they think that's normal, but there is nothing worse than a wet tortilla shell. In this case, both shells, yes, each taco had two shells, and both were soaked in juice. How hard is it to grill them first for a bit. There are a few Mexican restaurants that do that and the shells are perfect when they get to the table. On a positive side, the beans and rice were good. Oh, two tacos and a chimmy, and two waters came to $55. OUCH! read more

Not their best night. We order often through DD or pick up and will stick to that in the future. We sat unnoticed for only few minutes. Server apologized several times which was nice but excessive. Chips/salsa and our guac appetizer came out before our iced teas. All were just ok. Guac was average at best-no onion or cilantro or lime to taste at all. Two taco combo was great. We loved those. Went to Morenos on Gilbert Road last night. Took our order home. Pricing was ridiculous and the food was terrible we didn't even eat half the order. The cheese enchiladas were so chewy with the cheese. If it were actually cheese. The rice had no flavor. The tamale was wrapped in Paper and was very greasy. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. We were in the middle of the storm yesterday and were going to get backyard taco but my boyfriend told me to try this place and oh my!!! I totally loved it, I was in a hurry so I didn't even think of taking pictures but I will when I get back. The cashier lady was sooo nice and lovely. The place is small but cute. We had an awesome michelada while we waited for our food. The cashier said the shrimp chimis were her favorite so I ordered it and wooow it was amazing. I had guest in town and we decided to stop here on our way to the airport, as we wanted something a little speedy, However, I think that the cashier forget to put our order in, as we waited a very long time for our order in which, none of us ordered meals to avoid a long wait. One of the staff noticed us still waiting and asked my name on the order so that he could go check on it. The order had been sitting and waiting. We weren't happy campers because as I mentioned, my guest had a plane to catch. We didn't order meals to avoid a long wait but still had to wait. Thankfully, I was able to get my guests to the airport on time as they had to gobble down their light tacos in the vehicle on the way to the airport instead of enjoying sitting outside of the establishment to eat them. I ordered street tacos which were cold from sitting by the time I received them and my guests had a burrito which he liked and my other guests also ordered street tacos which she thought were OK. I think we would've enjoyed them more if we could've gotten them when they were ready and sat outside to enjoy them while they were still fresh! I came here for lunch on a Sunday. First off I needed to use the restroom. The toilet seat was broken and the urinal out of order. It served the purpose but wasn't what you expect in a nice restaurant. So I ordered the lunch combo #4. This is an enchilada which I chose with the carne asada option and a tostada. The meal is served with rice and beans. While I was waiting for my order they brought out a pile of chops with salsa. They were light and crispy. My order was out in a reasonable amount of time. The enchilada was good. The asada was tender and juicy with an amazing flavor. It was smothered in a red chili sauce. The tostada shell was not crispy because it was placed on top of the beans. It was limp and chewy. I had to cut it and eat it with a fork because I couldn't pick it up by hand. The food here is tasty. Nothing is too spicy. The filling consists of equal amounts of beef, rice, and beans wrapped in a huge tortilla. The plate also comes with rice and beans, so way too much rice and beans for my liking! I would give no stars if it would let me. Placed order for pick up. Got home and 3 out of the 5 meals were wrong. The meals were upside down and missing rice and beans. My $20 Chicken quesadilla was missing the chicken. Brought all food back since now all food was cold. Asked to get remade and the " manager " told us that they would remake 2 meals and REHEAT the others. REHEAT!?!? Otherwise he would "get in trouble from the kitchen manager". Sad because it used to be so good. Does this look like $72 worth of food? Management is very rude and the food is way too pricey for what you get. 5:30 pm, service was slow, took forever to get food. Waiter placed drink in front of custormer without their knowlegde and customer accidently spilled drink onto plate which then became unedible. Waiter offered to replace dinner because of the accident, which was done, only to be charged for replacement. The customer was charged twice for same items at no reduced rate and no customer service etiquette or apology. Spoke with manager who seemed to be arrogant and could care less. We seem to order take out from here about once a week for the past several years, I'd say it's our family's favorite fast Mexican food. Close to us and easy to order takeout, and the food has been pretty consistent for us over the years. We've taken out of town visitors to eat in the restaurant and ordered from the catering menu for parties. My husband likes the big burritos that fill him up, they are two meals for me. I think the salads are also good, but also the only item that seems to have shrunk in size over the years. I normally love moreno's, they have the best southwestern ranch I have had anywhere. However this last visit changed my mind and I will no longer be visiting this restaurant. I had ordered a salad that normally comes with meat, and instead I asked to have grilled vegetables instead. They ended up charging the extra for "fajita chicken" I showed the man at the register the receipt and told him I didn't get fajita chicken, I didn't get any meat at all actually, just vegetables. He proceeded to tell me how the system makes them charge for meat even if it's vegetables which made zero sense. I tried to explain that but he just kept arguing with me so I just gave up. My salad with no meat ended up being more expensive than my son's fajita's that came with both veg and meat! I guess this company does not believe that the customer is right, so I just won't be a customer anymore. I will miss their ranch, but it definitely isn't worth being treated so poorly. read more

The customer service was great, both employees in the front were polite. Ordered the Pollo Fundido plate with rice and beans. I ordered it to go and when I got home the food was still scorching hot(temp) which is a good thing! Order also came with the classic chips salsa and bean dip. I was craving some Mexican food and found this place on yelp so we decided to try it out.. the place wasn't bc but had a decent amount of people during lunch.. the food we ordered was the two crispy taco combo and 2 meat enchilada combo.. both good and had a lot of meat but the only thing I had to take stars off for was for the service, it could have been better and wished the salsa was spicier.. but other those two things we would defin come back to this place to try their other items on the menu.. We have been to the one on Higley and Chandler Heights but first time at this location. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Taller dark haired young lady at the front was not very nice and seemed put out when we asked for silverware, and extra salsa. Overall attitude wasn't very pleasant towards us. A smile and a thank you/ you're welcome goes a long way in customer service. We also ordered a combo plate with no rice and it came with rice but we chose not to say anything because of the reaction we might get. The flautas were very dry and didn't have a lot of flavor. I ordered the same burrito that I had many times before. It was overly salty and dry. The rice and beans weren't good either also dry. I did enjoy the chips. A co-worker of mine was talking about Sonoran dogs which I have tried at farmers markets and Sir Vezas. I told him of my disappointment at paying close to $8 for Sonoran dogs only to have them fall apart forcing me to eat them with a fork and knife. He suggested Moreno's, not only for the dog but good Mexican food in general. I was not disappointed, only $3.25 for the best Sonoran dog I have had yet but the asada street taco combo was also solid. I am so glad my co-worker told me about Moreno's because I have been driving by it everyday for the past 3 years wondering if the food was any good. Service is really quick and the food is fresh not greasy. Prices are very reasonable compared to most Mexican places and the portions are also reasonable. I like this Morenos. Haven't tried the other location, so I have nothing to compare it to. The bean dip is like crack! I absolutely adore their green chili sauce they bring out with the chips is incredible. I love it! It's a bit sweet, so it might not be some people's idea of green chili, but I really love it. I have gotten a bean burrito, shredded beef taco, and shrimp ceviche in the times I've been here. All really good. The service has always been nice. My only wish is that the music wasn't so loud. I'm usually coming there on my lunch break, and I really appreciate going to a place that's quiet. Oh well. I recommend this Morenos. I find their food and service reliable. Strange combination of ingredients in my to-go burrito somehow worked well at this mini Mexican chain. I originally had the carne asada from this place at the Ostrich Festival and it was super lean, so I went back to the well for this meal. Everything was great until my next to last bite where one fatty piece was located, but that won't be a deterrant for another future visit. This burro had jalapeno cream cheese, cheddar cheese, rice, carne and mango salsa. Clearly unusual, but it tasted fine, which is more than I can say for the overly greasy chips (check photo). I did not call in the order, but the food was ready quick, so it's kind of a fast food place, but also dine-in. read more
