The meals I've had here at the Buzz are pretty hit or miss. But overall a very good breakfast place close to home. Definitely steer clear of the breakfast burrito/wrap. It's much too soggy and watered down from the pico juices making it fall all apart. And I'm not too much a fan of their home fries here. The corned beef on the Ruben sandwich is a bit dry and the cheese not totally melted. However the Benny's here are spot on tasty. Great hollandaise and full of flavor. Best breakfast spot ever. We were in amesbury to bury my grand mother's ashes and find our family history. We had the best breakfast every day we were in town and Jen was our server and she was incredible. As a frequent flyer here, I can honestly say that the Morning Buzz is my favorite restaurant in the area! The menu has all the classics and more ( I suggest the bacon cheeseburger omelet or the Blarney Benny). Also they're homemade hash for the benedict is unreal. If coming on a Sunday be prepared for a wait (normally pretty short because these guys turn tables fast) because it gets packed right from the start. Parking is a available both on street and located out back of the cafe in a big parking lot. PS the manmosas are delish, go check it out. I love the north shore, especially Groveland, West Newbury area where my family lives, but every time I visit, I can't get over how far everything seems to be, just to get to a restaurant or a grocery! This California girl is use to a little driving, but this beautiful Massachusetts suburb drive seems to have the standard 20-30 minute commute rule! My point is, I would drive an endless amount to enjoy this breakfast spot again! The food was superb and the service was great! I enjoyed the veggie omelet and my sister in law enjoyed the breakfast bagel sandwich which looked delish! My only complaint is they didn't have any avocados ;( other than that, I'll be happy to continue that 20 minute commute from my inlaws house again and again! Ha! read more

My first visit to Morning Buzz was a bit of a disappointment. I got a breakfast wrap that wasn't heated through consistently, was watery and dripped as I ate it (I got it to go and tried negotiating it in the car which added to the frustration). Two subsequent sit-down visits, however, proved to be excellent. They have a large breakfast menu and everything I had was excellent (eggs, sausage, french toast, home fries, hash browns). Fresh squeezed orange juice is a plus at a breakfast place in my opinion and they have it. Service was a bit slow each time I visited. I know they are working things out and are a young and busy place so I don't want to be too harsh but they may need a little more organization when dealing with customers walking in the door. Disappointing. This is the second time I've come to this place on a beautiful day on the weekend and been told that the patio is closed. If they don't open the patio on a day like today, why have one at all?!? Just take the tables out and fill it with empty boxes so at least people won't have to wonder why the patio isn't open... and don't bother asking why it isn't open... they look at you like you have three heads for asking such a ridiculous question! So at least they serve free coffee while you wait right? Except the last two times I've been there, there was either no cups, or the coffee was empty. I don't mind waiting, but if you're with a big group... find someplace else. There is not enough group seating to be worth the wait more often than not... unless the patio is open... which, well... see above. So if you don't want to sit on the patio, and you don't want any coffee while waiting for a table, and you're not with a large group of people... the food is fine, but nothing to rave about. We headed to the Morning Buzz Cafe for a Father's Day brunch. The line was confusing at the front of the restaurant --Sit where you feel comfortable? -- but we eventually found a nice seat on the patio. The menu was creative, fun, and priced well. And the food (especially the homemade hash), was quite good -- when it finally came. It took 40 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered, which is just too long. Yes, to greasy spoon breakfast joints! Every town should have one, and Morning Buzz has managed to work its way into my heart. We've been living in Amesbury for two years now, and come here early on Sundays occasionally when we're in the mood to over-eat our first meal of the day. When this place first opened, it took forever yo get the food. Not anymore! Service was awesome, coffee always full, friendly staff and clean. We sat at the hi top tables for a change. Lauren had the traditional eggs Benedict. The Benedict sauce was very tasty and offered up a perfect display. Nice cut of ham on the English muffin. Home fries are potatoes cut into half dollars and cooked to perfection. I had the morning buzz filling breakfast special. Two eggs, (over easy), two Texas style French toast, hash browns and double bacon, (sub out sausage). Eggs were a little to well done so I will remember to mention that to keep them a little runny. Also with I ordered hash browns well done. But since I did not specify, I can't attack the rating. I also ordered the marble rye toast for the eggs. Thick cut and fresh. We've been here 3 times. Contrary to many of the reviews, this place is not busy. Yes, there is often a long wait for a table. But, that is not because they have an excess of customers. It is because the kitchen is incredibly slow. I want to like this place because someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing...but there aren't enough people plating food. It could be a profitable place but I bet it isn't for the lack of management sense. Do expect a wait. Do expect to fight people for tables. Seriously, how hard is it to take names at the door? Hospitality 101. If you wait around for the food you'll be impressed with genius like Roast Pork Benedict on a potato and scallion waffle with black peppercorn Hollandaise. I read A LOT of the reviews before I ventured in here. I'm very glad that I didn't let the older, bad reviews scare me away. Maybe there has been a change in ownership, I don't know, but this place was fantastic. I'm here on a Tuesday. Maybe the weekend is a little different but there was no trouble finding an open table. I had the meat lovers omelet with hash browns and raisin toast. So good! The omelette was full of meat and oozing with cheese. Hash browns were cooked perfectly and the raisin toast was delish. Had a cranberry mimosa to go with it and it too was well made. Service was very good and the food arrived quickly. Don't let the bad reviews scare you away. read more

Been here many times so review is long overdue. Seating yourself at times as mentioned during busy hours does get annoying. I've never had bad food, the pancakes are bigger than an adult head. Pretty much the only place I get breakfast for a sit down meal. The portion sizes are enormous and the staff is great. Their food is simply the best for breakfast. I can't stress that enough! Food is great, service is meh. I know they used to have issues with the food taking forever, but I've been coming here since it's opened and now the food comes out super fast. However, the service is strange. They have one person grab your drinks for you then another take your order. And I know this may sound dramatic, but they NEVER refill your water! Ever!! I've gone here plenty of times and every time I'm sitting there parched while I finish my food, and that's because they hardly ever check up on you after you get your food. Sorry, but water refills should be server 101. Also I don't understand why they don't hire more servers so they can use the patio, because it's never been used. Rude rude rude! My self and my mother sat down at the morning buzz cafe at 11 am by 12:30 pm we still did not have any food. We did not receive any food at our trip to the morning buzz. Self seating, had a server come to our table promptly to take our drink order. We ordered two ice waters for this hot day. About 10 minutes later another server came to our table to take our orders, an older blonde women who did not introduced her self just asked " do you know what you want?" We gave her our orders and said thank you she replied with nothing and walked away. At this time another table of two was seated next to us and placed their order. Soon after they placed their order a table of 7 was seated in front of us and they placed their orders. 45 minutes went by after those tables were seated and we had not received our food. We couldn't get a hold of the server who took our order let alone anybody else. The table of two next to us received their food despite them ordering after us and having a much bigger order then ours. We tried to get the attention of our server who was busy chatting behind the bar she looked over at us several times ignoring our attempts to speak with her. About 15 minutes later the table of 7 received their food from the server who took our food order, we spoke up to her and asked her why we hadn't been served? She replied with "it's comeing.." we told her we had been waiting far to long and multiple people who ordered after us had been served before us. Her reply was "ok?" We told her were leaving and her reply was "that's fine". She had a terrible attitude!! And was completely rude! Awful service and I couldn't tell you what the food tastes like, but no food is worth sitting through that wait combined with that attitude. We will not be returning. read more

I was impressed with The Morning Buzz Cafe. It's a fairly new place that we tried for the first time this morning. We were able to get a table and get served with coffee right away. The menu selection is impressive. The eggs benedict that I tried were good; I recommend them. The service was friendly and quick and the price was fair. I tried this place a few months ago. The staff didn't care that I was sitting there for about 15 mins before greeting me. I guess if you're not a regular then they could care less for your business. As far as the food....burnt potatoes, they brought me an omelet that was totally wrong. When I mentioned it they just said 'so do we need to make you another one?' I told her to forget it. I had to wait too long for my food. I didn't eat another. They still made me pay.....they made all of the mistakes and I still had to pay? Another big thing that bothered me.....all the locals and regulars had nothing but town gossip. I have never heard so many people bashing other businesses in their town. I really want to like the Morning Buzz. I really, really do. The staff is friendly and the food is adequate, albeit a bit overpriced. However, I simply cannot get over the incredible amount of time it takes to eat breakfast here! I've been 3 or 4 times now, with parties of varying size, and every single time, whether it's 2 or 6 people, the wait times once seated have been 40 minutes or over from ordering time to when the food arrives at the table. The last time I went only with my husband and it took a solid hour to get our food - that is ridiculous - it's breakfast, not a 5 star meal. After the last experience we refuse to return, it is just too frustrating and was more of a Morning Buzz kill - not an enjoyable start to the day at all. read more

My husband and I have had breakfast at the Buzz almost every Saturday since it opened in December 2011. I have to admit I'm totally baffled by the negative comments, since we've never had less than great food and service. There are plenty of other breakfast spots within a few miles, but none are as consistently welcoming or enjoyable. It's a bright, airy location with plenty of seating, and always full of regulars who are clearly enjoying themselves. The owners are friendly and seem to be very good to their wait staff, as it shows in the service. The food is consistently fresh, carefully prepared, and delicious. I avoid restaurant reviews based on 1 or 2 experiences, since either the writer or the cook could have been having a bad day. I also don't rave about any place I've only been to a couple of times. But after 60 + great meals, I know this place deserves 5 stars. read more

Really great food. Not so great service. Long waits for seating and the staff acts like they're doing you a favor. Especially one waitress who acts like this is her prom and she is the queen. Saunters around the restaurant and lets you know that she'll get to you when she's ready and not a moment before. Too bad management doesn't step up their game. This is a wonderful addition to the restaurants in Amesbury, and one of the only ones that serve breakfast AND lunch. The food is great!!!!! For a relatively new restaurant, the kinks are being worked out satisfactorily.
