Rezzies are highly recommended. Book a table at the garden patio - IMO, it's the best seats in the house. Ok, yea it's in the TL right off 6th/Market....not in the nicest area. IMO, the TL is not as bad as some make it to be. In my experience being born and raised in the city, people in the TL say "Hi" and keep to themselves. M E N U Small New American Menu: Small bites (salad, deviled eggs, mini crab rolls, etc), spreads w/ pita bread, burger, fried chicken, fish & chips, steak frites, etc. They advertise food and drink specials for the event but there was none. No HH either. 5% SF surcharge (not noted on menu). D R I N K S Limited spirit selection; wish they carried more small-batch brands. * Grey Whale Gin, shaken ($16) * Grey Whale Gin w/ club soda ($18 x3): Very stiff! Worth the $. * Diet Coke ($5 x3) A P P S * Grilled Pork Belly Skewers w/ miso glaze, pickled mustard seeds (2 pc-$12) Rich, tender, and not overly fatty. The miso's umami didn't come through so it was a bit bland. * Smoked Salmon Rillettes w/ dill, chives, pita ($12) Umm, I'm all for negative space but could they not find a smaller bowl so the rillette doesn't look half eaten? Lol! That aside, this was BOMB! The pita tasted housemade - served piping hot and perfectly chewy with a soft, fluffy interior. Slathered with the rich, creamy smoked salmon spread...it was so delicious. * Fries ($9) Can't go wrong with a huge platter of hot McD type fries. S E R V I C E Welp, this would have been a 5 star review but someone killed the vibes. Most of the staff was friendly, and our server was excellent - very attentive and efficient with drinks and apps arriving quickly. Unfortunately, as we were on our last round of drinks (I had a full cocktail left), a male staff came over and told us they need the table back in 10 minutes, and our server immediately brought the check. I was confused esp since there were two empty tables nearby and he didn't approach the other table that was seated around the same time as us. I later found the fine print on my rezzies about the 2-hour table max which wasn't mentioned when we were seated. Regardless, we still had about 30 mins left. Afterwards, I spoke with Mia at the hotel's front desk. She was very apologetic, looked into the situation right away, and kindly offered a round of drinks on our next visit. A M B I A N C E Chic and trendy with a cute glass-enclosed solarium, and sweeping views of DT and the city's skylines. Mix of tables and lounge areas with firepits and heat lamps (it's windy tho!). Clean restrooms. It was great seeing a diverse crowd for the R&B event...a refreshing change from the usual AI/Tech Bro scene in the city. P A R K I N G Limited street parking (we found parking around the corner before 5 pm). Valet is $80. Overall, we had a great time at R&B Wednesday, and I thought the prices were fair for solid apps and drinks...for a rooftop bar. It was disappointing that our evening was cut short tho. I will say that this place is absolutely stunning and beautiful compared to a lot of others San Francisco rooftops that I have visited. This is located into the tenderloin, so please be aware that you will have to find your own street parking but parking a garage is preferred. This place has stunning views nonetheless, it's very chill and in a relaxing setting. The music is not overpowering, which is nice enough to have a conversation without having it overly crowded with 50 other people around you. I've definitely been back here a few times to take other friends and family and I will continue to do so. There are also heaters outside when it's very cold, chilly and windy. The staff is amazing as they are also willing to accommodate you and give you blankets if needed. Can't wait to go back! read more

I visited on a Wednesday with a large group to celebrate my fiancé's birthday. The venue is beautiful, especially the spacious outdoor patio, which was perfect since the indoor area is a bit smaller. The DJ was spinning old-school R&B, which created an amazing vibe! The food was pretty good. The fried chicken and deviled eggs were super tasty. I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5 due to a couple of service issues. First, their bar policy for large groups is frustrating. A guest in our party tried to order a soda at the bar but was turned away because he wasn't physically sitting at the bar counter. For large groups, people should be allowed to open separate bar tabs so they don't have to be looped into the main table bill. It feels unreasonable and cuts into the bartenders' tips. Second, our server wasn't very welcoming. While not openly rude, the cold demeanor made our diverse group feel a bit pre-judged, which was disappointing. We still ended up with a hefty bill and tipped well, but hospitality could definitely be improved. Overall, we had a great time because of the company, music, and food. I liked the food offerings better than other spots nearby, I didn't like the liquor selection here as my particular liquor only had 3 choices none of which I would normally pick. The pour was quite healthy I must say. Cleanliness of floor in these places seems to be lacking power washing regularly. Quality and portion size of food was excellent. read more

Super cute rooftop bar and restaurant. Fantastic views of the city and the greenhouse structure is gorgeous. Regardless of the weather you'll enjoy it. There's indoor seating, and the outdoor seating includes blankets and heaters. I've been a few times now and the service is always good/attentive too. Previous visits I was there for dinner, but at my most recent visit I was there for brunch so I ordered the Veggie Breakfast Hash. It was delicious (perfectly poached egg and nicely seasoned) - only thing missing was a sprinkle of cheese or sour cream lol. Bartender wasn't present so the only drink options that morning were a mimosa or a bloody mary, but if you're there when the bartender is then definitely give their cocktails a try. This is the rooftop restaurant at the Timbri Hotel. While staying at the hotel, a friend and I went upstairs one night to grab dinner. The hostess practically scoffed at us when we said we didn't have reservations. Looking around, there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, both on the inside or the deck patio. They reluctantly let us sit outside. We ordered drinks and dinner. I got the fish and chips, which was two large pieces, but as I bit in, I realized it was mostly the batter that was overly thick but also very greasy. The fish itself was crumbly and didn't hold its form. Their dill tartar sauce was good for dipping, though. The shoestring fries were seasoned well but overall pretty average as far as fries go. My friend felt the same about the dish that he ordered. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, making sure our water glasses were filled. As the dinner went on, I couldn't help but notice that the place never filled up, not even the rooftop deck with views of the city; making me wonder why they were so perturbed we didn't have a reservation when we arrived. If you're staying at the Timbri and need a place for dinner, Rise Over Run isn't a bad option, just make sure you (apparently) have a reservation first. read more

This place is on the roof of the Timbri Hotel. (Enter the lobby, pass the front desk, veer right to the elevators, press 13 on the screen.) The hotel is unfortunately across from the shady tenderloin, but once you enter the lobby everything feels high end. Once on the rooftop we had a great spot with a great view. The service was spotty but the food was great. Especially the fried chicken. Order it! We hit this spot before a concert at the Warfield. The line for the Warfield wraps the block all the way to the front of the hotel. As we finished dinner we got right in line. read more

Rooftop bars are rare in SF, and this one is great! We were able to get a table on Friday night without a reservation (though it was a bit difficult getting seated outside). All of the servers were friendly and attentive, making sure we had blankets and refilling our waters. The drinks and food were great. 2 of us came for a Saturday morning brunch around 10 AM a few weeks back. Service was very slow, despite us being one of only 3 occupied tables. Food was boring and bland, it was almost impressive how they could make eggs, toast, and sausage taste like... air. Beautiful views from the outdoor rooftop seating area, but when we arrived and I asked to be seated out there, we were told we couldn't because "it doesn't open until 11 AM." Which was totally no problem, I figured since it was so slow, it's probably easier to keep the customers inside. But then a group arrived at 10:30 AM and were promptly seated outside when they asked to be lol. So that was a bit of a letdown, but even the indoor seating is in a beautiful greenhouse-like setting. All the dishes we ordered were actually really good except for the steak. Steak was supposed to medium rare and it was like well done and very dry. The burrata was delicious. A good portion and really creamy. Even though the crab cakes were small, it was all crab and good quality. The fried chicken was crispy and good (just slightly too salty). The main concern was the service. It was so slow and the server was basically non-existent. And it was so cold in the solarium. We asked them to keep the doors closed but they kept opening them. Restaurant is located in the Hilton Curio Collection. Used to be The Line Hotel. Elevators take you to the roof top restaurant which has amazing views of the city. The dining and bar areas are decorated nicely, mid-century modern vibe. Everything we order tasted good. We went for brunch before the Broadway Show at Orpheum Theater, a 10 min. walk. During our stay at the Timbri Hotel, my wife and I decided to check out Rise Over Run, the rooftop restaurant. The first night, we started things off the right way--with cocktails. Ambiance, 5 stars. The view is amazing, looking out over the city. We came in today for brunch, called ahead to ensure that arriving 15 minutes prior to closure would be ok, and we got a yes, that we are good to go. So we arrived and were seated by a kind female host. Our server, who was a short stalky man came over with a strange attitude, disgruntled that the host had seated us, blamed the host for seating us, took our order and never returned, leaving the host to handle his table. The whole experience was really odd, and left a sour taste in our mouths that surpasses the flavor of the chicken and biscuits which were crispy and delicious. We were kind and polite in our communications, quick to order, eat and depart, so no need for attitude. Please management, properly train your servers to have better customer relations and etiquette. Cute cocktail bar on the top of a hotel. We came here at night as a group of 6 and we were able to get seated pretty quickly inside. We were able to go outside and enjoy the views of the city. Views, and drinks were amazing. The host was very welcoming but we had reservations at 9:45 and sat there for 15 minutes before my fiancee decided to go inside and order our drinks at the bar. The waitress finally brought by water and then left. At around 10:15 my fiancee went back inside to let them know we wanted to order food, the waitress still never came, the bartender decided to come out and take our order herself and you could tell she was not happy. We also had 4 drinks all together 2 for me 2 for my fiancee and the bartender tried telling him we couldn't order more than 3 drinks in an hour, 2 drinks with dinner seems pretty normal. The waitress then came back around 10:20 to tell us they were closing soon. Overall an okay experience. If they could get better servers and bartenders it would be a great location, amazing food and views. We spent a week at the Timbri recently and although we mostly dined out, we were very glad to have Rise Over Run on the rooftop. We ordered some food to take down to our room one evening and it hit the spot so we did make an effort to have breakfast at the restaurant one morning during our stay, but unfortunately we arrived only 20 minutes before they were closing so we had to get breakfast as take out as well. That gave us an opportunity to walk around the rooftop and we did take some photos (which I have added below) but the differences between the hours posted online vs the hours posted at the actual location do differ a bit, so be aware. There was also some difference in the online menus and in-restaurant menus which led to some confusion. I wasn't able to get exactly what I had planned prior, but it worked out in the end. The staff was nice and invited me into the small interior area with our small dog, even though I am always respectful and stay in the exterior spaces with her. It was quite windy though, so that was a nice respite. The food was tasty and our room was so nice at the hotel we did not mind taking the food back. This would be a nice spot to stop for some drinks, light eats and lovely views if you are in the area and if you are a guest at the hotel, there is definitely no excuse to miss it. read more

Located on the Hilton rooftop, the glass interior was really cool and there is great landscaping with fire pits, heat lamps, and a city view. It was quiet and it closes pretty early, which was nice for us. The drinks were all pretty strange, and they didn't have some standard liqueurs such as amaretto which I thought was a little odd for a bar. Location was also a little iffy since it was the Tenderloin at night. The cocktails we did have were okay / a little off but the presentation was nice! Also had a good tiramisu. ...what a great spot, roof top! & overlooking the beautiful city! It's in the tenderloin just to be fair, I didn't expect it to be so nice..but man I'm sure glad this establishment didn't disappoint. We took an uber from our Airbnb & got dropped right in front (good idea if you aren't staying at the Timbri Hotel, which is where it's located) otherwise valet will charge 80$ for parking, nevertheless i booked a table outdoors for an early bday dinner for my husband. He was pleasantly surprised & impressed. Food & vibe was great & just what we needed. Service was attentive & professional. Music was my favorite.. would definitely recommend & we will love to come back! Food decently priced. Totally worth it! They are doing something special at this establishment! read more

I came by for brunch and was really impressed by everything from the food to the service to the ambiance. Avocado Toast can be pretty boring, but honestly, it's not hard when they do it right. Their eggs were well made, their sourdough was perfectly crispy and the true star were the perfectly whipp'd avocados (yes, the avocados were perfect). We also shared the chicken and waffles, and honestly, the chicken was so juicy and went great with the slightly sweet and surprisingly (and pleasantly) not strong sauce. Parking - Uber here. The neighborhood looks terrible for parking. Reservation - easy to make online for a party of 4 even for the weekend. Food - the appetizers we chose were pretty good. We enjoyed the crispy pork belly and hot chicken sando Drinks - cocktails were ok, bar tenders were very accommodating and offered to switch out a drink that our table didn't like. I did enjoy the panda monium since I love the taste of pandan. Staff - everyone was so nice from the moment we entered. How do you recover from a night at a speakeasy? Easy, rise and run to breakfast. In our case, we had a girls' brunch date. Friend told me she's checking out (of her hotel) and I told her I'm on my way to pick her up in a Waymo. Twenty minutes or so later, she was in the car and we are off to Turk Street in the TL. déjà vu. Weren't we just here last night? Waymo dropped us off around the next block from The LINE because of its law-abiding programming not wanting to double park in front of the building. Because of this, we had to walk around the block trying not to step on poo. Normally we wouldn't mind walking a few steps, but the area is sketch. Maybe it's too early for me, but this place is referencing too much Math and formulas. The LINE; Rise Over Run. X-axis and Y-axis, blah, blah, blah. I'm not good at math, but I can read signs. A doorman/security told us that Rise Over Run is not open. What?!? I swear I confirmed my reservations. Well, that's disappointing. Then he said, "Oh wait. They are open for brunch. Come in. 13th floor." We got up to the top floor, I looked it up, 13 is the six prime number. In number theory, it's considered to be a happy number. Oh good. We are here to be happy. We approached a beautiful Solarium with a striking bar setup. The staff checking us in took one look at my friend and said, "Weren't you JUST here?" My friend and I have never been here, but see what I meant by déjà vu? I booked us a table inside the Solarium, but it looks so nice outside that we requested to seat there if they have room and they did, so we happily sat outside enjoying the view. For brunch, we ordered coffee and OJ for her and a latte for me. For food, we shared the Cheeseburgers with fries and the (Korean) Fried Chicken with the add-on of Southern Biscuits. The fried chicken came in this cute cut-out bird cage. Very insta-worthy presentation. The cheeseburger was quite substantial and delicious. Fries were good. The fried chicken was not bad. A few pieces felt a little dry. The southern biscuits are small, soft, and okay. Food is more like 3.5-4 stars depending on what you get. We had a great time catching up here. Not much people that day so had a lot of privacy to ourselves and the service was very friendly. This felt more like a nice spot to enjoy brunch or happy hour. Because the setup and atmosphere was so lovely, we took quite a lot of photos, too. We left happy and took a Uber (it picked us up in the front of the building without us walking around the block) back to the car garage near her hotel to pick up her car. I went home from there. I was really disappointed with my visit. We ordered almost every single item on the menu , The food was way too salty , it completely overpowered any flavor the meal might've had. On top of that, the portions were ridiculously small for the price. Definitely not worth what they charge. The drinks are pretty but tasted horrible. To make things worse, the staff had a poor attitude the entire time. It felt like we were bothering them just by ordering. Between the salty food, tiny portions, and rude service, I won't be coming back. Not to mention the valet is 93 dollar! But 2 star cause it is pretty and warm up there. read more
