    The sandwiches, etc

Funky coffee and sandwich place, our "go-to" when we're doing a Kennebunkport stroll. Friendly staff. Very good coffee. Fresh baked goods. Unusual sandwich options. Creative coffee specials.

This is such a cute restaurant located in Kennebunkport! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I visited Mornings in Paris while on a food tour. I had an opportunity to try the well known Maine dessert, whoopie pies and a blueberry iced tea. Both were delicious! The tea was incredibly refreshing. Other friends ordered coffee and enjoyed their cup of joe.

We went to Mornings in Paris based on a recommendation, and since we were in Kennebunk for breakfast, we decided to head there for French crepes. We got in line, picked out our flavors from the sign above the register, and when we went to order, were told that unfortunately they weren't doing crepes that day. We were very disappointed and wished we had gone to the Ogunquit location, where we passed a sign that said they do crepes daily. We settled for a quick apple cider drink and chocolate croissant. We can't say we were overly impressed by the croissant, and in fact ended up at a true authentic French bakery shortly after, which put in perspective how lack luster this one really was. I liked the seating style at Mornings in Paris outside, and was happy to find a free parking lot here. However, I don't see ourselves returning on future visits to the area.

We typically visit this bakery at least once each time we stay in Kennebunk on vacation and we did again this year. Once proved to be enough because the quality of our danishes, strawberry, were not the same as in the past. Good, but not great. We likely will return on our next vacation in order to try one their quiches or perhaps a crepe.

Love this spot. I'm so glad it's been around all these years and the food, coffee and great service never changes. You really do feel like you're transported to a little Parisian cafe.

This place did not remind me of Paris. It was just okay. Nothing to pass to a friend maybe a stranger

Nice for "Coffee And", but not a place for a meal. My wife was impressed, I could have passed the on the pre-made pastries. Meh.

We bought both of their breakfast sandwiches. They were dry and not warmed up enough. The chocolate croissants and coffee were lit, though.

The menu is a great mix of drinks, desserts, and dessert-drink combos. A group of 5 of us arrived and waited about 10 minutes for spots at the bar. The inside is pretty small but optimized with both bar and booth seating. The decor is so cute and whimsical. I loved all of the details! The desserts are pricey (most are around $15-20), but the portions are big enough to share with at least 1 other person. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Royale, which really hit the sweet-salty spot with a warm choc chip cookie, salty sweet cream ice cream, salted caramel, sesame brittle, and tahini whipped cream. The savorier elements allowed me to keep eating and not get overwhelmed by sweetness. My friends got the vegan peach crumble and chocolate cake and enjoyed theirs as well. Come with your sweet tooth, and leave happy and satisfied!

I love blueberries anyway, so as I was in Maine I planned to try all things with blueberries…read more After a funny lunch in Portsmouth, NH we headed to Kennebunkport, ME for a few hours. We stopped at Bar Harbor Cheesecake for a unique treat. First of all the ambiance is elegant and quite different from the Dock Square area. They are a cheesecake business, but I think they serve wine as well. However all of the cheesecakes are in wine refrigerators with chill lighting so you totally feel like you are in a wine bar. Great vibe! After close examination we picked the blueberry lemon ( and a phenomenal cinnamon roll). This might be the best cheesecake I've ever had. The flavor was BURSTING with every bite! Definitely pricey, but worth it to experience.

It happens. You're…read moresitting at home, on an off peak season Sunday night, and you get a craving... the old sweet tooth kicks in, and given the day, the hour, and the time of year, you know your options to satisfy that sweet urge are going to be slim to nil. I mean, after 9pm even the grocery stores with their "meh" bakeries are closed. What I did was open Yelp!, and expand my search area a little, and I''m glad I did... because it turns out, Portland isn't the only option for foodies (or in this case, "munchies") in Maine. Because there's a little coastal town just a bit south called "Kennebunk". I know. It sounds completely made-up, but I assure you, it's a real place. So, even though I was born and raised in Maine, and I've never heard of this oddly named little town that sounds like a cross between a manufactured tourist trap and a summer warehouse facility for political dynasties... I was kind of amazed by the Yelp restaurant listings... Portland gets all the "foodie Buzz" in the press, but it looks like some of the spots in and around this Kennebunk could seriously give Portland's reputation a run for its money. I think some summer outings are in my future. But I digress... Once I filtered the returns by hitting the "Open Now" button, Bar Harbor Cheesecake popped up, front and center. They've got an hours of operation befitting a fictional business in a made-up town... 11:11am - 11:11pm...?!? C'mon... that's just a joke... it must be... open on a Sunday night... after 6pm... in April... in Maine...?!? It's TRUE. it's all True. I made the 20-some odd mile drive, expecting nothing but a "Ha Ha!" Sign taped to the window of an abandoned storefront... But what I got instead was a friendly (if somewhat lonely), helpful staffer who greeted me warmly, asked if it was my first time, and then guided me through the offerings. For the record, I went with the "Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake", and not just because it was the most expensive thing on offer, but because when you find yourself at an improbable time, in an unlikely spot, with seemingly unattainable desires, you go BIG. Indulge. Swing for fences, go for broke, break the bank, go the extra mile.... And have "Dessert for Dinner": Because you're an adult, and you deserve it. as for the cheesecake...? O. M. G. Is it the best I've had...? Dunno. But I can't remember ever having better. It was also filling enough that I only ate half and had the rest the next morning with coffee... it was still great the next day, btw. Frankly, at that point I was starting to see it as "good value for money". FWIW, there are a handful of Bar Harbor Cheesecakes sprinkled around the country, so maybe keep an eye out for them... Barring that, this one is definitely worth checking out... the only downside was I kind of had to hustle to get to a coffee place before they all closed... (FWIW: Aroma Joes in Saco was open until 11pm, so Win-Win for Me...!!!)
