Corn, beef, sandwiches, Chicago hotdog, and plenty of sport peppers!
    Tahir N.

I was just in Chicago visiting my father, so I was able to stop in for a corn beef, dark rye, and get another for the plane back to California. Over the decades, Morris has been a couple different locations but always on 55th They now have a second location a few miles west but I have not yet been Enjoy this photograph of deliciousness!

So this is the "Special". Not even close to anything special. Sliced lunch meat is what it tasted like. Extremely small.

Fresh and clean exterior. Inviting. Street parking. Let's get right to the disappointment. Wife and I opted for the Morry's special Rueben. In short, nothing special. As a matter of fact, can't verify it, but I'd guess the corned beef is simply sliced lunch meat. Flavor... not notable. Size, paltry at best. Save your money. Drive north to Mannys.

Real hole in the wall, not too many tables but it was empty when we went. The food was good but the prices seemed a bit too high for a casual deli spot and the sandwiches weren't that big. I will say the pastrami was super delicious. Recommend getting the #2 sub if you go.

skimpy! this is the front of the sandwich the other photo shows the rear of the sandwich with no meat

i was very disappointed in the quality of the corned beef definitely wasn't vienna. the skimpiest sandwich i've had in my life for 12$ never get food from here

After wedding lunch. Making memories. Eating well.

OMG. I have not had such a good sandwich since Koches Deli when I was in college at Penn in West Philly. Delicious, huge and a great price to boot.

I went here for lunch and had a corned beef sandwich. I was not impressed with the size of the sandwich or the taste. It just seemed too small a portion of meat for a $10-11 sandwich. Also, the beef was thinly sliced, and I prefer chunkier cuts. It just wasn't very good. As positives, the service was fast and the location is good for parking.

Combination sandwich with corned beef and pastrami

My colleague and I ordered lunch from here. She had the Morry's Famous Combination Sandwich with corned beef and pastrami. I had the #5 Morry's Sky High Triple Decker Sandwich, which is turkey breast, bacon and Swiss cheese. It also comes with potato salad and a pickle. I'm not a fan of the potato salad but the sandwiches are good.

Friendly service. Large selections on menu. Deli atmosphere. Size able portions. Loved the polish kielbasa.

Both our sandwiches were terrific. Filling, but not huge. The meat was amazing. This was our first visit. We'll be back.

Not a true deli, sandwiches are made from cold cut meat. Corn beef is from a cold cut package not a brisket.

Not the deli we flocked to in the 70's & 80's. I've came here several times over the years and am always disappointed. Service is terrible.

We were quoted a time of 20 minutes out. We arrived a little early and the gal at the counter told us it would be a few minutes. She called out when ready and sat at one of the tables in the front to eat. Each sub had a decent amount of filling. While we each offered the smallest subs, we were plenty full when we left. We enjoyed our subs and now have a place to add to our list for a new quick lunch. For the store itself, they have some odds and ends but many Italian staples. As I parked this large Chevy Suburban parked in front of me. As I sat in the car & saw one person after another unloaded & head towards Potbelly. In all I counted 8 guys unloading from this Suburban. & head to Potbelly. I'm like oh hell no. That's when I saw CONTE DI SAVOIA @ 1438 W Taylor Street on the north side of Taylor Street. I decided to cross over & check out this old world Italian Deli. Conti Di Savoia is small Italian grocery store w/an Italian deli that has w/outstanding & inexpensive sandwiches. When I went in there was a line of people waiting @ the deli counter waiting to place their order. I must have looked confused because the owner directed me & told the line started on the other side towards the back of the store. What I found was an awesome of fresh handmade sandwiches for a very reasonable price. I ordered an 8" pastrami w/mozzarella cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onions, mayo, & Italian oil drizzled. What I got was an awesome inexpensive sandwich loaded with/fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious. After I got my sandwich the owner (I introduced myself (I think his name was Mike) rang up the sandwich. He said they have been there for 35 years. There's also a small dining area in the front of the store where I sat & devoured my sandwich. Like I said this is small Italian store w/a nice selection of products like meats, cheeses, pastas, wine, olive & deli items. I throughly enjoyed finding Conte Di Savoia. The pastrami sandwich was awesome w/a generous portion of pastrami & toppings for a reasonable price. I'm the type of person who who loves finding new places to eat. Most times unless I find great food & reasonable prices I won't go back but I feel like I found a real gem W/Conti Di Savoia. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN.

My mom orders from here often for family events and work events, however, today they lost our order ticket so our 2pm order wasn't made until we went to pick it up, and we didn't get it until 3pm. We handled that with grace and didn't complain. When they finally got the food to us and put it in the trunk, they spilled the juice from the Italian beef tray in the trunk. Which again, we were very calm and didn't complain about it. When the food got to the house and we started to unpack, we realized that we didn't get the steak sandwich tray we ordered, but a tray of mixed sandwiches. My mother called the restaurant to see how we can fix this, since we didn't need a tray of mixed sandwiches when we ordered the Italian beef and chicken Vesuvio separately as it was. The manager, Ali, basically called my mom a liar, said they checked the trays and we got the correct one. This is clearly not the case. She had horrible customer service skills and even refused to refund the difference for the price for the mixed sandwich trays and steak sandwich trays. As long-time customers we expected better. I've attached screenshots of the receipt and the food we receive. Edit: we spoke to the manager Kara today She was apologetic and made everything right for us.

To me it just detracts from the overall flavor of the sandwich. We also got the Chicken Vesuvio. I loved the garlic but because I don't use mayo the sandwich seemed a bit dry. My fault, of course, but oh, that garlic! Service is not an issue. Order at the counter and pick up your food when they call your number. There's a separate clearly marked line for pizza by the slice. They have great parking and remember to take many more napkins than you think you need.

People were crowding around it as the staff handed it to me--handled with care . The chicken was crispy, the sauce had that classic rich flavor, and the melted cheese tied everything together just right. What I really appreciated was how consistent the quality was from end to end--no soggy spots, and the bread held up beautifully (which is key when you're dealing with something this massive). You can tell they know what they're doing when it comes to Italian bread and hearty sandwiches. I think they have patio seating available when the weather allows, which is a nice option, but it does get crowded. Calling ahead to order is definitely a smart move. There was a line out the door, which we didn't mind, but things became disorganized when staff asked everyone to move inside. It caused people to lose their place in line, and the ordering process felt very chaotic and rushed. Because it was so crowded, I didn't really get a chance to look at the bakery items and only ended up ordering a cookie and a cannoli. After ordering, we were asked to wait outside for our name to be called. It took about 15-20 minutes for two sandwiches, and the pickup process was also a bit hectic. The chicken parm sandwich was good, but the eggplant parm was underwhelming and had more breading than eggplant. Overall, for about $17.50 per sandwich, the experience didn't quite match the price for me.
