Came to Morton's on Super Bowl Sunday and had such a great experience. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and they were able to accommodate us with a private room, which made the night even better because we could watch the game comfortably while still having our own space. The restaurant itself is massive, with a really nice atmosphere and overall mood. It felt upscale but still fun and social. They also have valet parking, which was super convenient. I definitely want to come back again to try more items on the menu because I really loved the vibe and the experience overall. They have a great regular menu always featuring steaks along with a variety of side dishes and enhancers. The cocktails menu and the wine lists have plenty of choices with the best liquor. Third update and there is not much more I can say other than I have been a regular at Mortons for about 30 years now and I have nothing but great things to say about them. I could write a book on everyone of my great experiences in GReat Neck as well as the dozens of Morton's we have visited around the country as well as the unbelievable team members I have had the opportunity to laugh with and watch grow up. Our family came to celebrate a family member's recent engagement. The ambiance was great and the server was excellent, who took note of my shellfish allergy and made sure the chefs/kitchen knew about the allergy. The dry-aged ribeye was great, soft, moist, flavorful. The cream spinach was good, but not as great as some others I've tried at other steakhouses. The dessert coffee had some alcohol in it that you could barely taste with excellent cream on top and the perfect dessert coffee size! Tried Morton's for the first time for Father's Day. We started out with their delicious bread! To die for. It literally melts in your mouth. We ordered the 2XOsOld Fashioned. It was sweet, but, absolutely delicious! It definitely creeps up on you, so be careful! We did the Father's Day menu. We started with the Neuske Bacon Crispy Rice, my only gripe about this was the portions were so small. I am used to getting a full thick cut piece of bacon at steakhouses, but, this was only 3 little pieces. The bacon was good but I would have preferred the old way they used to serve it (from seeing old posts about it). For our entrees we got the NY Strip steak and the Ribeye. Both were delicious! Cooked exactly to out liking. We also had a loaded baked potato and the parmesean and truffle fries. Both were delicious as well. For dessert we had the hot chocolate cake and the Liberty Cake. The Liberty Cake was phenomenal, cheesecake in between strawberry cake with something similar to the strawberry shortcake ice cream pops we ate as kids. Overall a wonderful experience. Came here for a birthday dinner. Upon sitting down, they bring out this huge onion bread. It is absolutely DELICIOUS and SO soft! They give a really big size of butter for it as well. For dinner, we split the 22 ounce ribeye. It was absolutely delicious as well. We got it cooked medium well and it wasn't red inside, but it was very smooth and the knife cut right through it. It was very juicy and had great flavor. We also got the mashed potatoes with sour cream. They were AMAZING. We also ordered fries which were equally as great. Service was great. Service was pretty slow, I felt like there was only one server, maybe two for that room. We had to wait a while for our dessert and check. They seemed overwhelmed. I've been to several Morton's during my travels. This was my first visit to the Great Neck, NY location and it is absolutely my favorite. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and had a round of drinks at the bars before the meal. The bartender made perfect Old Fashioneds and Margaritas for us - superb! When we were seated at our booth, Sardi took wonderful care of us. The jumbo lump crab cakes are the best I've had outside of Maryland. I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster tail and filet mignon - so fresh and cooked perfectly to temperature. The Ora king salmon was also excellent, as were our sides of roasted asparagus and sour cream mashed potatoes. Dessert was a molten' chocolate cake a la mode (delicious!) and key lime pie (amazing). We make our annual trek here, usually for Hubs' birthday. When you order a medium rare cut of meat here, it will be exactly that: edges crisp and center a crimson-hued pink. Appetizers are delicious too, and it is recommended to try the variety if you are with a large party. We've ordered the gamut of items, from the Ocean seafood tower to the Tomahawk to the chocolate lava cake... everything We've had has been as expected. (Speaking of which, if you are with 2-3 adults, try ordering the tomahawk steak if you've never had it before. It's a sight to behold; the meat is pre-cut, and the presentation is impressive. ) Every item we ordered has come out consistent and expected of a high-end restaurant. The reasons I can't give it that 5th star... a) service has been inconsistent every time. Sometimes it's great... fully staffed, seated swiftly, and food arrives quickly. Other times, we're waiting at the entrance, and the front end isn't staffed, so a queue of patrons waiting to be seated starts growing. Further, We've had reservations requesting a booth, but walk-ins ahead of us get the booth. Also, the wait at our table for food might have a huge gap between courses. b) Bathroom: Sometimes TP is not stocked, and the stalls have tissue all around the floors. Last night at dinner with my family for my MIL birthday and we happened upon this. After reading this it was clear I needed to give this awesome deal a shot. Started with the wedge salad which was phenomenal with the crumbled blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, crumbled bacon bits and top shelf blue cheese dressing. Next up was a 6 oz medium rare filet mignon which was juicy, tender and downright phenomenal . I paired it with the garlic mashed potatoes which were creamy, buttery and velvety smooth. We ordered additional appetizers and cream spinach. She specifically asked if the spinach would come out with the apps or meal. I advised with the apps. We get the apps no spinach. By the way it took about 25 mins for the apps. When she finally came to check on us I told her the spinach never came. I automatically assumed she would make sure it came with the meals, but it didn't. What was the end? There was a male server helping and I felt like he was a little bit rushy. Before asking, if we wanted anything else, he automatically assumed we were ready for the check. I wanted to order an additional drink, but it took so long for someone to come to the table. I said forget it. I didn't notice that the table behind us into the left was getting frequent check ups. We received the check and the spinach was still on there. When I advised the man of this, no apologies just OK I'll take it off. I didn't notice when he went back to the register. The lady that originally was helping us was standing there. Never thought I'd have to do this. I visited this place once before and had zero complaints however this time they offered a valentines special which we decided to take advantage of. Made the reservations days in advance and when we got there and was seated, we were then told by our waitress that the special was no longer available and that orders had to be made off of the main menu. This seemed a bit deceitful and we brought that to the waitress's attention and she then allegedly advocated for us with the manager and miraculously the special was available again. Additionally at the end of the night we asked for the remaining food to be boxed however when we got home an untouched lobster tail was not included in the bag. I saw there was a thanksgiving dinner to go that you can order: -turkey roulade & stuffing w/ gravy and cranberry sauce -egg & onion loaf -winter salad -pumpkin cheesecake swirl -smoked Gouda au gratin potatoes -baked corn soufflé -creamed spinach -green beans with almonds For $200 it sounds like a good deal but was dissatisfied with what I received. I had to order more food because the trays weren't even half full, the pictures advertised looks so much bigger and better. And i thought it was ready made/cooked since I had work in the morning. I thought it would be cooked so i can rest this year. but had to cook everything for at least 45 minutes and it took time because my oven doesn't fit everything at once. I had to make more mash potatoes since it wasn't going to fill us up and make more veggies. The dessert was very small too. Shout out to our server, Christian, at Morton's who made our special occasion dinner truly memorable! Yelp reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt since it's based on a person's experience or several visits. However when you read the reviews which varies from one extreme (eh) to the other extreme (excellent), you have to ask what is going on. I haven't been to this location though I have been to the ones in the city so I had a certain level of expectation. In this case, we had excellent service. The valet took our car, which is free (don't forget the ticket or to tip the valet before or after). We walked in and checked in with the hostess, who brought us to the table with the menu. The menu had a more generic message instead of the specific occasion. I am still touched by the effort. Christian introduced himself. First thing I asked is the souffle available (it wasn't on the menu but figured if you don't ask you won't know). Unfortunately, it's not available however if we are interested in the hot chocolate cake, let him know during the entree. The cake takes time to bake so he can put in the request. We received the warm onion bread with butter. It's delicious as usual. We ordered the following: Appetizers: - Bacon Steak (2): this is a must get! - SRF Wagyu Meatballs: it's a bit dry for me but don't forget this is American Wagyu. Entree: 42oz porterhouse steak - was standard. Garlic Butter (extra charge) Side: The Troy: sauteed mushroom and onions - couldn't stop eating this... Surprisingly really good mushrooms.
