I've been to this particular Morton's here in Reston dozens of times for a very specific reason. Every single time I have been here I have been greeted as if I am a long lost friend returned home. The staff, if they worked anywhere else on Earth I would make sure I take the time out of my life to visit them so they could greet me with the same level of hospitality every single day of my life. I'm an extraordinarily selective human being when it comes to the food I put into my body, and not once in the dozens of times that I have been here have I even considered sending something back to the chef. Presented well, cooked to perfection, and delivered with a sincerity I would hope somebody would greet those that I love upon their arrival. Morton's is a go to to for steak. Ok it's not cheap but the quality is great. I always get the rib eye and it is so tender and juicy. Sitting outside is preferred depending on the weather. Good experience overall! The first time we went to Morton's, had some issues with our food not being cooked properly. But the second time we dined it was flawless. Good overall is very good! Multiple times I have dined here and the difference is when you pay your bill. Food is delicious. We had the ADVERTISED special of 1 1:2 lb lobster. Landrys Loyalty Club sends me emails and invites me to these special events. Everything was great until we get the bill. Suddenly the Loyalty Club is a problem and it takes 3 back and forth with the server and manager to fix it. They claim I have changed my settings and asked to use points -- which i have not!!! Was just there Thursday and it went smooth. This is not the first hiccup with the Loyalty Program = EVERYTIME!!! Takes all the fun and life out of a great experience. Outstanding meal and service. Victoria was our server, and ask for her as she was thorough and excellent. We plan to ask for her the next time we go back. She recommended some cocktails, and they were delicious. I got the blackberry mojito, and it was perfect, refreshing, and just what I was looking for. My date got a lemon drop and then a margarita. I tasted her lemon drop, which was very good, albeit strong! We ordered appetizers of French Onion Soup and Caesar salad. The soup was good but lacked broth as there was minimal below the level of cheese and bread. Overall good, but a little more broth would have been good. My date's caesar salad looked good and a healthy portion. For our entrees, we decided to split both. My date got the NY strip with bleu cheese butter, which I would never have considered getting since I don't like bleu cheese, but it made the steak very good. I got the filet with lobster tail, and we split both dishes. The lobster tail was large and very meaty and tasted great. We ordered creamed spinach and potatoes AuGratin. The creamed spinach was the perfect size for two people, but the potatoes would have been better shared with 4 or more people. We took them home as they were too much. Because we were celebrating a birthday, they brought out a warm chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream and two spoons. This was a fantastic experience for the food and drink and the outstanding service Victoria and the other waitstaff provided. Biggest regret of my life is changing my Eddie V's dinner reservation to this DUMP of a place for our 7 year wedding anniversary. sit TIGHT I have a story for you and hope you don't even consider this trashy low class service. We stepped in at around 7:02 for our dinner reservation. Upon arrival, the host - a young gentleman who seemed disheveled, mute and overall very unhappy - barely greeted us. You would think going into a "high end" restaurant, you would be warmly greeted with a smile and a welcome. Nope - here, you just a confused kid that looks like he's never interacted with people in his entire life. He takes us to our table, which was a booth table where we'd have to sit next to each other. I was not okay with that so I asked the host if we can just sit at any other table and asked which one would be okay. He then proceeded to just point at random tables, mumbling under his breath "this one or this one of that one of this one" ....YOU ARE THE ONE THAT WORKS HERE. Just pick one and let us sit..... I just grabbed one table because we were already moving at the speed of a sloth. Upon sitting, no one came by to greet us as our waiter, no one came by to ask us if we wanted any water or let alone explain anything on the menu. It was as if we were stranded on an island for what felt like hours. My husband and I both looked around and it was a quiet Sunday night. We saw several waiters/waitresses walking around but not ONE of them said anything to us. maybe about 10 minutes later, a random gentleman abruptly walked over and just rudely asked "WATER? TAP? SPARKLING?" again - with 0 assurance that someone would be coming by to take our drink orders + food orders. after another 10 minutes passed by, I grew extremely upset, because at this point, my patience and sympathy had completely run out because this is completely unacceptable and rather disappointing for a restaurant that is self proclaimed "high class lol. My husband eventually went to go find a manager, which she came by a few minutes later but by then I was already furious and what she said pissed me off even more. We grabbed our coats and was getting ready to just leave. When the manager walked over, she said "ohhhh did no on greet youuuuu??? I'll call over Eddie! I'll call him over now" .... WHY NOW? you couldn't have called the waiter over 20 minutes ago? THen she proceeds to say, "well I can give you some apps for free" ..... because we are beggars and free food would erase the last 20 minutes? This woman had absolutely ZERO clue on how to deal with the situation. Instead of showing empathy and finding out what was wrong, she 1. ASSUMED we were mad because we weren't "greeted" as if we're 15 years old & 2. just threw free food at us assuming that would resolve the issue. I would rather eat a dead rat off the floor of DC streets then to ever return to this disgusting low grade low class place I wont even call it a restaurant. From host all the way to the manager, the whole thing was handled so horribly and I pretty much stormed out of the place feeling like my throat was so swollen from holding myself back from crying from the anger and frustration, especially on a night that was supposed to be about celebration and love. We came for a friends bachelorette weekend dinner and it was such a lovely experience! Our server was wonderful - attentive, patient, and suggested some delicious items. The bread is unlike other restaurant bread, fluffy and savory. They were running a special for appetizer, entree, side, and dessert which I think we all ordered because it was too good to pass that up and what a great choice it was! We had bacon wrapped scallops (yum), filet and Brussels, and some sort of ice cream lava cake for dessert. All so good! Definitely lived up to our expectations. It was served with raspberries, however I'm a fan of blueberry so my moscow mule had blueberries...threw some of them on top and whaaaalaaaaa ammmmmaaaazzzzzing. Love love love! Great location and service. The location is very easy to find. If you don't want to valet your car there is close parking that is either on the cheaper side or free on weekends! Inside sets a good warm tone & homey feeling. Our food all turned out well and came out in a timely manner. They took a photo of us for my birthday as well as printing a special birthday menu. Our waiter, Michael was phenomenal - and he was only training! He was attentive and knew his way around the menu. We will definitely be back to see him - and the lava cake :) read more

So.... Many of my friends have dissed Morton's as a rich white mans restaurant. I never felt that way until this evening, my experience felt as such. Swf, sat at the bar for light dinner after flying in on a Sunday for a week of business meetings. I felt largely discounted, from the moment i sat down, had to try too hard to get service. Additionally after they got the entree wrong, when I commented on the lengthy delay in getting it back, it was "well YOU asked to have it remade, right?" Fantastic experience! The service and staff were fantastic and on point! My sister and I had a couple's night out (our parent's gift to us) where we would babysit all 4 grandkids for the evening - best gift btw. I don't know how Cindy did it, but she was able to get our entree order split and get my steak done rare!!!! My sister and I split the Cajun ribeye and I can't tell you how happy I was when she was able to get my order PERFECT (also the cooks who did this request for me)!!! As our appetizers, we decided on their bacon-wrapped scallops. For the split sides, we (mainly my sister) decided to all split the lobster mac and cheese, Sauteed Fresh Spinach and Button Mushrooms, and Sauteed Brussels Sprouts. Our husbands got the Bone-in Veal and the Filet Mignon. Everything came out in the perfect order and hot! Both their presentation and flavors were on point! I really enjoyed their Cajun Ribeye, but I was totally eyeing the Bone-in Veal the whole night. My husband was nice enough to share a few bites and it was delicious. I've never posted a yelp review but was so disappointed in the service we received from the bartender this evening. We ordered two drinks, one of which was a $34 glass of wine. He could not have been more dismissive to us, and annoyed by our presence, yet chatted joyfully with the only other two patrons at the bar. This was my first visit to a Morton's location, and I came with my fiancé and his parents for dinner. The atmosphere is lovely, dim and sophisticated, and the service was incredible. I started off with their Blood & Sand drink, which was NOT the watered down bs that you'll usually get at $$$$ restaurants. I was so relieved. This might be sacrilege to some, but I did not actually order a steak. I combined the lobster bisque with the prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella as my meal. Both were divine, although I feel that adding more lobster meat to the bisque would be an improvement (there was one singular piece in there, which I think was meant to serve as a garnish more than anything.) I guess it makes sense because lobster bisque doesn't typically have meat in it, but rules were made to be broken, right? I did try a few bites of my fiancé's steak out of curiosity, and I will say that I definitely regretted not ordering one after that. It was cooked to perfection and marinated in some type of umami sauce - so, so good. Five star experience for sure. I'm excited to try their DC location sometime. read more

The bread was fantastic. We both ordered the wagyu. Definitely surprised at the price being the same as the angus. This steak was the biggest insult to the pallet I've ever experienced. Burnt on the outside(have you never heard of pan frying a steak) and just one big piece of grissile. Devoid of any flavor, but burnt meat. Couldn't even chew the steak, reminded me of octopus. I can be a bit of a wine snob so even thought none met my level of expectation in terms of being comparable to Caymus, I did find one that was acceptable for a nice wine with a friend over good conversation! The Shrimp Cocktail was a perfect "light bite" since I had eaten a few hours before but the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake really stole the show! My only complaint would be the calories that were largely printed on the menu Even though the lava cake comes in at a whopping 1210 calories, it's a nice treat you can indulge every once in a while with a friend. Over the years, my wife and I and some of our family and even my mother have dined at Mortons in Reston. They've always been very attentive to us and the food has been excellent. Last night was a 32nd anniversary for my wife and me and we ended up having a fantastic meal at Morton's. The meal included filet mignons cooked perfectly, lobster, onion soup, crab cocktail, the famous onion bread, and a wonderful dessert. From personalized menus through the entire meal the staff were very attentive. Our waiter, Diego, made us feel extra special plus one of the managers, Scott, made sure everything was going well. We came here for happy hour (or power hour, as they call it, but I appreciate they didn't make us chug a drink every time a song ended), and were stunned by how amazing the service was. Our main server was Edwin, and he was stellar - friendly, knowledgeable, fast, and gracious. There were others working in the bar area (unfortunately I did not catch their names), and they were all wonderful as well and worked together as a well-oiled machine to ensure each patron had a wonderful experience. Furthermore, the food was delicious, and their happy hour pricing was great. For such an upscale place, I was shocked at how affordable their happy hour was. Out of all of the places I've dined at RTC (and it's a lot, because I work there and live in Maryland and like to avoid rush hour), this has been, by far, my best experience. The new york strip was excellent, no butter sauce added. The salmon was very nice as well. They serve these drinks called mocktails, which are cocktails without the alcohol. We tried the strawberry coconut ones but they weren't very good. They tasted like strawberry mush in a glass. The appetizer was skipable. The reason I say skipable is because it wasn't memorable at all and it showed up on the bill only to make the meal overly expensive. The first surprise was that we decided around 3:30pm and said let's press our luck and see if they had reservations available and they actually did, YAY! We were promptly seated and as to be expected the service was top notch! I didn't take pics of all of our food because we were enjoying each other's company and the good eats, however, whats pictured is my NY Strip, the baked corn soufflé, spinach and button mushroom and what I've coined as the white chocolate martini (bc I ordered a chocolate martini and while it had a subtle chocolate taste, it wasn't truly chocolate and was purely Baileys which isn't a bad thing). My steak was cooked to the perfect medium temperature as ordered, however, it was tougher than I expected and the bacon wrapped scallops were a little under. The baked corn soufflé was to die for and it was a new item on the menu. Our salads and French onion soup (not pictured) were absolutely amazing and my girlfriends loved their cocktails as well. Any of the superb Texan reds (Pedernales, Becker, Grape Creek, & others), a super Tuscan or two, variety of Malbecs and some Valle de Guadalupe or Idaho reds (Cinder, Coeur d'Alene Cellars and Pend d'Oreille are standouts) would add variety and depth - and pair very well with steak, I assure you. I don't usually leave reviews. But wow. This restaurant REALLY let us down last night (Friday night) I made dinner reservations for 8pm earlier in the week on Tuesday. Reservation were confirmed and we were set to celebrate my moms birthday. Friday comes around and we get there, to our surprise the restaurant had be rented out UNBEKNOWNST to us. Not one person contacted me to tell me the restaurant had been rented and my reservation was canceled. When I went to talk to the host's they were sooo incredibly rude and basically just told us to get lost. No professionalism , no apology for the miscommunication, no anything. Worst dining experience I've had, and this is a place my husband and I frequent often. I do not expect this type of business to be practiced at a restaurant like Morton's. I LOVE coming here for the late night happy hour ON THE SMALL plates - BAR BITES. At night there are no happy hour specials on drinks. Their drink happy hour aka "Power Hour" is M-F 430-630pm and Sunday's from 5-630pm. I love the romantic dim lit ambiance. The big screen TVs with sporting events are a big distracting. I like the bar bites options since you can get full on several of the $7, $8, $9 options. My favorites are the Parmesan Truffle Matchstick Fries and Crab, Spinach, and artichoke dip. The Filet Mignon Trio comes topped with various sauces, I would prefer the sauce on the side. The Mini crab cakes were ok, they seemed a bit cold. The drinks are very good, love their cosmos and lemon drop martinis! They are pricey at around $16, but they are delicious. I think the service in the bar area could be improved with more attentive waitstaff, but I think the issue may stem from being understaffed. Seemed like there was one 2 bartenders and 1 cocktail waiter. The bar area is generally very busy all the time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

From 2007-2011 (when I lived in Herndon), I used to go here for their happy hour deals and have always thoroughly enjoyed my experiences. Fast forward to last night (Saturday February 6). My wife and I had a 5:30pm reservation. Upon checking in and after a very brief wait, we were seated. Eddie was our server and he was fantastic, as he took great care of us! As to dinner, we were here during their "restaurant week" so (after having their soft and warm onion bread), we both started out with caesar salads. Because all I've ever had at this Morton's were their steak sandwiches, burger, and fries in the bar area, I wanted something other than beef. Therefore, I ordered the honey glazed salmon and my wife got the filet cooked medium with béarnaise sauce. We shared our creamed spinach and mashed potatoes with each other. As to dessert, I got the chocolate mousse and she got the key lime pie slice. As with our visits to other Mortons', last night's dinner was excellent overall. As the evening went along, all the tables were filled. Fortunately, it didn't bother us as it did for a previous reviewer. Anyway, we left after a very memorable experience! read more
