I love the Yard House and it bums me out that this one will be closing next month. I've come here many times throughout the years and I can always rely on good food, great drinks, and an overall pretty cool atmosphere. The service is always good as well, but sometimes it gets confusing with the little kiosk at the table what you can order through the kiosk and what you need to order through your server. But besides that it's a great place to come for a good meal and a cocktail/beer. The Irvine Spectrum location and Long Beach locations will remain open; it's just the Costa Mesa one that is closing. read more

Very disappointing experience at this Yard House. From the moment we arrived, I felt we were treated differently than other guests. The host, Brooke, was unwelcoming, and our server, Sussy, made us feel rushed from the beginning, as if they wanted us to order quickly and leave instead of enjoying our meal. After watching how other tables were greeted and served, I left feeling that my party was treated differently because of our race. No customer should leave a restaurant feeling unwelcome or singled out. We came here at about 530 on a Friday evening. I never realize what a good selection they're happy hour is. 3-6 m to Friday appetizers are 50% off. We got two drinks and three appetizers a few of them not shown, chicken tenders, hummus, calamari and we only paid about $20 each in total each. Service was excellent. It was crowded and as soon as a happy hour menu was done, they were gone. It's a hustle and bustle location, but plenty of parking. Overall, I would go back here and try their poke. read more

We had such a great experience at Yard House! We came in to celebrate my birthday with my husband, our toddler & my husband's brother. The flavors went so well together & the sweet potato fries were honestly some of my favorite. They were so good that they were still delicious the next day! Of course, we had to finish with dessert & our daughter loved her Oreo sundae. She was so excited & it was the perfect treat to end the meal. We have actually been to Yard House before & have always enjoyed it. On a previous visit, we tried their kids cheese pizza, margherita pizza with extra cheese, barbecue chicken salad & the poke nachos. Honestly I've only had the HH menu here but it is so good and worth. Pro tip for the chicken nachos you can ask them to sub fries (frachos). I like chips though so we got both. Huge portion and it's half off. I personally like the poke nachos over better. The boneless wings were surprisingly moist and crispy. Calamari/pizza was standard. Blackened ahi tuna was okay. Brusselsprouts had this spicy glaze which was really good. Beers and cocktails also on discount. Tons of variety. I like their cocktail selection. We came here on a Saturday morning right after opening and as soon as we arrived and the waitress did not seem happy to be there. Following my visit, my hairdresser told me that location is closing down so I am not sure if that is the reason or the group or 10 tween girls at a nearby table had anything to do with it, but we were just getting a lot of attitude the whole time from our waitress. One individual in my party ordered chicken tortilla soup which she said tasted like nacho cheese? We also ordered Brussel sprouts without realizing they came with sriracha so we asked if we could get a second batch made without sriracha and we would still pay for the first since it was our mistake. The waitress did ask if we still wanted the other seasonings on the Brussel sprouts which we did, but then when the second order came out they were bone dry with no seasoning. They did end up comping one of the orders so that was incredibly nice but all in all we didn't eat many Brussel sprouts. A highlight for me was the truffle parmesan fries with ranch. A low would be walking into the bathroom and seeing a woman slip and nearly fall on a grate that wasn't properly secured on the ground. It's a shame to see that this Yard House location has come to this, I'm interested to see if the location in the Irvine Spectrum remains open and if the quality/service will hold to it's previous standards. read more

My favorite American happy hour spot! Portions are huge in general and it's the same amount for their happy hour at a cheaper price. My husband and I like to get their poke nachos, so much that he won't share with me and actually has us order two so he can eat a full one. And let's be honest, I can eat a full one too even though I try not to lol We also like getting their pizza, the mushroom truffle one usually. The other items are great too, but a pizza and nachos are our standard order. Their drinks for happy hour is also a good deal too. I'd order my drinks based on my moods and my husband likes one of their sours. Service is nice and I feel like they're always busy here. This isn't my first time here. I have been many times. Finally decided to do a review. There a a gazillion beers. They do beer well. As they should. There are a ton of TV's. The food is like... bar food, but more variety. They do have this lovely ahi tuna stack, which feels kinda somewhat healthy. I'm so sorry I can't recall our server's name but she was fantastic! !! They allowed us to book a reservation for our group earlier this week just before Christmas Eve. Even when we adjusted the count, they allowed our change to a smaller group a couple hours before our reservation at 6pm. Parked below and the elevators and stairwells are accessible to the top floor to reach Yard House. Be aware there is some construction going on (I think it was the 2nd floor). Every person who helped our table, from the hostess to their table staff, amazing service during a stressful holiday event dinner for our work. We came to Yard House in Costa Mesa specifically to watch the Mexico vs. South Korea World Cup match, and unfortunately the experience was incredibly disappointing. The game initially started with the Spanish broadcast, which made sense considering the overwhelming majority of guests were there supporting Mexico. After it was switched to English due to complaints from a few tables, many of us at the bar asked if it could be switched back. The bartenders, Julio and Nev, were fantastic, they listened, advocated for us, and repeatedly checked with management. Unfortunately, they were told no. When we spoke with the manager, Jennifer, her solution was simply to turn the audio off completely. That didn't feel like a compromise, it felt like everyone lost. We even suggested playing the second half in Spanish as a fair middle ground, but she refused, saying it was a "lose-lose situation." Whether intentional or not, the way this was handled left many of us feeling dismissed. It was hard not to feel that the preferences of the predominantly Mexican fan base in the restaurant were treated as less important. The atmosphere completely changed, and what should have been an exciting World Cup experience became frustrating. The only reason I'm not giving one star is because Julio and Nev were exceptional. They were friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to help despite having no authority to make the decision. They deserve recognition for doing everything they could. Unfortunately, poor management overshadowed what could have been a great experience. read more

I went to Yard House for happy hour, and I have to say,it's usually one of my go-to spots. All of my past experiences have been A+, which is why this visit stood out a bit differently.When we arrived, we were seated right away, and the host was very kind. The restaurant was clean and clearly ready for the dinner crowd. As soon as we sat down, our server Angel came over and asked if we knew what drinks we wanted before we even had a chance to look at the menu. At first, I thought, "Wow, he's on it," but his attitude felt a bit off-putting (giving) like he might have been having a rough day. I wasn't ready to order yet, but my partner was. As he started placing his order, Angel walked away mid-conversation, which caught us off guard. We brushed it off and placed our food order through the kiosk at the table. Angel later returned, acknowledged the order, and took our drink requests. Our food came out fairly quickly, we ordered the fried calamari (10/10), which was excellent, and Miguel's queso dip with added beef (10/10), which was so delicious. About halfway through our appetizers, we realized we still hadn't received our drinks. We flagged down another server, Quinn, who stepped in to help. It turned out our drinks had never been placed. Quinn quickly took care of it, and I ordered the Hawaiian Mule (10/10), which was refreshing and really tasty. Quinn ended up taking care of us for the rest of the visit and definitely turned the experience around; he was attentive and made sure everything was handled. Yard House is still a great spot for happy hour, watching a game, or going out with a group. wow what a deal this was! after hearing about the happy hour deal on social media, we had to stop by as we are suckers for happy hour and saving money. for apps, we went with the calamari and poke nachos, and for entrees, we ordered the carnivore and truffled mushroom pizza, and boneless wings. cant forget about the beers so we did 2 half yards and 3 extra pints. the beer selection at yard house is super extensive so we had to take advantage. the food was all pretty good quality, i was surprised that i enjoyed it all so much! and the 4 of us were overly stuffed and only spent less than $25 per person for a full dinner and lots of beers with leftovers to take home. the service was also amazing! our waiters were incredibly friendly and checked up on us frequently and for how busy the restaurant was at the hour, everything came out promptly. we dined outside on the patio since we had our dog with us but beware that the area does tend to fill up quick as there aren't too many tables outside but there was plenty of seating inside as well. 10/10 recommend happy hour here! we will definitely be back :) read more

All the food was great, and came out quickly. We were told their soda machine was flat aside from a separate machine that only had coke and sprite, so my Dad decided to get iced tea instead. Small inconvenience, and then there seemed to be some confusion when they brought out the food between us and the other group on the patio. Last time, it came with mashed potatoes and grilled baby carrots and asparagus ($29), and all was well cooked and plated. But this last time I had the Cheese steak sandwich. It was a tad too salty and came with crispy fries. Great with the Mango Cart Beer, Sam Adams, Hefeweizen, and Nut Brown beer. The previous time was better because it was during the World Series and the Dodgers pulled out a win. It was a cool community support feeling , except for the lone dude and his date rooting for Toronto. I wish I k new his name, but the wait person told us we had three minutes to order their Happy Hour Menu. Cheaper beer, and appetizers were good. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders but didn't come with additional lettuce, pickles or dressing like in the past. The lettuce chicken wraps were warm and good but instead of their leaf lettuce I prefer iceberg, a much crisper lettuce that when cold makes a contrast with the warm chicken. Overall, it was a great deal. I love the open kitchen and always briefly stop by the check out the kitchen on my way to the bathroom. I've been coming to this location for quite some time, thought I placed a review but can't find it. Anyhow, for the past 4 years maybe, I come here in hopes that Joyce is working. Though she's a manager, she's very hands on and a team player. She is friendly and welcoming, and makes sure all the customers are taken cared of. I don't eat much but whenever I order food, it's generally on point. The spicy Tuna Steak is so good and healthy too. I also get the spicy edamame. I appreciate them having Hashi (chopsticks) since I generally use them for my utensils. It's dim in all locations, not particularly good for my eyesight, so I just use my phone light to see the menu. It's always a chill environment, obviously can get loud on game days/nights and usually always busy, except right at opening. I've been coming to Yard House for years, and I'm genuinely sad to see this location closing. It's always been one of our go-to spots, and overall I've had a lot of great experiences here. The food has consistently been good, the atmosphere is fun, and I've always loved the artwork and overall vibe of the restaurant. Most of the staff has been friendly and welcoming. There's one server with a mohawk and piercings who is always fantastic, and another gentleman who's been there for years who's also consistently kind and attentive (I wish I could remember his name!). Unfortunately, I've had the same experience with one server, Matt, on three separate visits now. It's not that he's rude or has an attitude--it's more that he seems completely disengaged. He'll take our order and then basically disappear. There's no checking in, no making us feel welcome, and no effort to provide an actual dining experience. It honestly feels like because we usually order water, he's already decided we're not worth the effort. Whether that's true or not, that's how the service comes across. I still tip because I know serving isn't easy, but it's frustrating to feel like you're rewarding consistently poor service. At this point, if we ever came back, I'd honestly ask not to be seated in his section. That said, one disappointing server doesn't erase years of positive experiences. Ordered a lot of apps and entrees. Drinks and food came out quickly. The food and drinks were good. Minus 1 star cuz the table checkout machine was not working well. We were able to split the bill 6 ways, we paid our share, but for the rest of the table it wouldnt go thru. Overall we had a great time here. Food and drink was good. We were there for lunch yesterday for the first time and the food was ten stars as was the service providing a delicious and very plesant experience. We could not have asked for better! I dropped a star for the condition of restroom supplies. The soap dispenser gives out a mixture of 85% water and 15% soap. So servers' hands and the hands of customers cannot be cleaned properly. Second, the paper towels provided are VERY thin. They often tear into pieces when retrieving them from the dispenser and one needs several to do the job. I plan to come back sometime for the excellence of the food and service and hope to see an improvement in the bathroom supplies as I see these money saving options as failing save vis a vis overuse of paper towels and unacceptable with regard to the lack of sufficient soap to insure that germs are eliminated efficiently. read more

Heaters were turned on for us. She brought out water for the dogs without us asking. All though the ambiance is much nicer inside, we really enjoy being able to have our dogs with us on the patio.
