    1/2lb Beef Brisket Coleslaw
    WILLIAM B.

Finally able to find this location and so I was in the mood for bbq. I ordered a 1/2lb of brisket lean and chopped along with some coleslaw. The brisket was delicious but the sauces were not labeled so that was weird but tasted like regular bbq sauce. I was looking for something with more heat or maybe mustard base sauce. Now the coleslaw was tasty but definitely puréed to death.

Small locale, great service. The menu was not complete as the main restaurant. The offerings were good. order was prepared quickly. The food was very tasty.

The service was wonderful. I was greeted warmly, and when I explained it, it was my first time the person behind the counter, I'm millennial took his time explaining how it works. The Brookhaven location has a limited menu, which is fine. There's lots of seating in there. They weigh it for you and even though the menu may say a half a pound or a quarter a pound you can add as much as you like and you were charged accordingly. That part I like. He sliced the brisket in front of me and I asked him to chop it and he did that as well. Mac & Cheese was decent. I'm happy that it wasn't orange -but it was tasty. It might've made a little salt and pepper. Maybe a little onion powder but I'm used to that. I didn't put anything on it and enjoyed it ( I always have to count for the fact that my taste buds are not the same since being sick.) Now that I'm speaking of it, it's less salty than City BBQ. However, I don't mind the Salter City BBQ because I only eat it on average once a month, which is probably a lot, but I enjoy it. ‍ I guess the price is about the same. What you see in the picture was about $27 with a two dollar carry Away tip because I was just treated so nicely and professionally. City BBQ, but this is a great place to try in a pinch. By the way, they had three sauces, original, spicy, and a vinegar version.

So this spot opened up near me and I was elated! I love a good spot I get some smoked brisket or burgers or whatever. It's basically walking distance so I feel like I couldn't miss! It's in a little plaza so you might have to do a little bit of navigating to get where you need to go if you come in on the wrong side of the parking lot but that's not the biggest deal, not the end of the world! Since it has opened up, I ended up going with the smoke cheddar burger, green beans, brisket by the lb, brisket chili, and the mac and cheese. I asked the person at the front to let me know what his best and favorites were, and he decorated and dressed my food to his liking because he said it was solid so I trust him. We actually had a good conversation. They have indoor and outdoor seating if you want to sit outside on a nice day. It's in the same plaza as where you would find a mellow mushroom and Chick-fil-A so you'll find multiple people eating depending on what time you go. For example if it's lunch time or whatever the case may be.

I was excited to try this new location but was immediately disappointed when I walked in and saw the menu. Its very limited compared to the other locations and serves everything cafeteria style. My ribs tasted like all of the flavor was boiled out then they were left on the smoker too long. The mac & cheese tasted like cheeze wiz and the string beans were salty. Another thing I didn't like is that the prices are listed per half pound of meat. However, if the staff gives you more meat (even if you didn't ask for it), you get charged extra. I asked for a half pound of meat. However, I didn't find out till I got to the register that I was given .85lbs so the total cost of my meal was higher. I think people should be asked if they want extra meat before being charged. I doubt I'll be back to this location. They get two stars because the staff is friendly. However, they'll need to make this location a bit more like the others to get me back in.

Great BBQ in Brookhaven. Even better margarita. Was pleasantly surprised. I arrived around 7:30 pm and they were nearly sold out. It wasn't crowded and the staff were friendly. Will visit again!

WAS THIS A HIT OR MISS ???…read more It was a HIT I have been dying to try this place out for years and I figured I planned a lunch with a friend so we could spend the afternoon chitchatting and this was the perfect spot. So we were warmly greeted and then taken to a quiet table in the corner that had the whitest tablecloths. It looked rather chic Then we had the best server. She checked on us numerous times, didn't rush us and offered suggestions. She kept our table clear of mayhem from empty plates and glasses. Now the food was delicious. It was so good. The chicken was moist and the outside was crispy. The mashed potatoes melted in my mouth. Plus, we had a slice of 7up cake for dessert. I high recommend this place. They have valet parking that is only $2. Great place to visit. Until next time.

Location Carries, Great for Clients, Not for Value…read more Location, location, location. That's the story here. This spot earns its 4 stars largely because of the setting and service. Right in the heart of Buckhead with a beautiful view great energy, well-dressed crowd, and a strong place for a work lunch or client meeting. Service was solid, no complaints there. I'll keep it simple the food was good, don't get me wrong. But for the price, it just didn't match up. This is one of those places that works if you're trying to impress clients or enjoy the atmosphere. Strip away the location, and the food-to-price ratio probably lands much lower. Just my take. Overall: 4/5 great setting, just comes at a premium.

If there was a rub, it was subtle to the point of being almost untasteable. Quarter rack of Ribs: poor. Meaty, but far too tough, definitely not fall off the bone. Again lacking in flavor, and burnt in spots. Side of Mac n Cheese: easily the start of the show. Very flavorful, baked and not swimming in cheese sauce, possible notes of ritz crackers detected. I'd have eaten a main course sized portion, and imagine it could mix well with pulled pork or chopped brisket, should Matt's ever consider expanding their repertoire of meats. Side of potato salad: also very solid. Simple but nicely flavored, just creamy enough. Side of collards: fine but unremarkable. Bbq sauce: decent-ish, more tangy than sweet. Very thick. Packaging : Matt's really could improve here. The ribs and chicken, piled together between two slices of white bread, was wrapped in white paper which was in turn stuffed into a paper bag with the containers of sides. This was messy- yes, bbq is by nature a messy undertaking, but a clamshell container would've made the whole fiasco a lot easier to deal with. A fork and spoon were included, no knife... and no napkins. Really? For a paper wrapped oversauced pile of meat... not even a single napkin? I honestly would've been fine paying an extra buck or so for some better packaging and, IDK, maybe a wetnap. Overall, this bbq lover was unimpressed. Perhaps the rave reviews made my expectations too high. I've honestly had better bbq at multiple places in my relative bbq desert hometown of Boston. I was hoping for a real treat during my business trip to Atlanta; instead, I'm yearning for the joint near my suburban New England home...

I was here because my brother wanted to celebrate Father's Day and chose this as his place of choice. Nothing says Happy Father's Day like southern BBQ! Lol! My mom and I had questions, the wonderful young lady was nice and patient with us. You order at the line/register and they call your name to pickup your order. I ordered the Judge's Sampler (Leg + Thigh, Smoked Turkey Breast, Brisket, Basket of Fried Okra, Macaroni and Cheese, with Texas Toast, and an order of the 3 sides platter for my little one and I to split since I wanted to try other sides. I ordered the green beans, hush puppies, and additional macaroni and cheese. I also ordered a banana pudding to go. My food was great! From start to finish! My brisket was soooooooo tender! What did the man say, tendernism, and that's what the brisket gave! So did the chicken and turkey! The leg and thigh was seasoned perfectly, and the smoked turkey breast slice wasn't dry at all! It was packed full of flavor and the right balance of tenderness and flavor. It all paired very well with the Carolina Gold BBQ sauce. I'm a fan of mustard based/yellow sauce so I could be bias. The mac and cheese was good, not OMG, I'm going to smack my mama good, but good enough to want more. The green beans were good, the fried okra was too; both could use a tad more seasoning or maybe some more love since I felt like they were missing something super small. The horseradish sauce that comes with the okra did take the okra to another level in relation to taste, so truly no complaints. I was disappointed in the hush puppies since I like sweeter hush puppies, and I asked the young lady at the register were they sweet and she said, "Yes, kind of." Nothing sweet about them; the taste wasn't bad and they were good, yet not the taste I wanted or expected. Nothing against them. I ate the banana pudding when we got home and it was good, yet almost too sweet! I messed around and looked at the caloric count and let me tell you, DON'T if you're counting calories and working on your weight lol! Not bad. 7/10. Everyone ate their food and my mom loved her ribs so much, she bought two individual ribs to go. Minus the high chairs being filthy, the place was clean, real southern and BBQ like decor and layout. Everything I expected for a BBQ place anywhere in the south lol Oh lastly, the price was unbelievably affordable! I spent a total of $35 for all this food WITH taxes! I will be going back! 8.5/10
