One caveat: it was really smoky inside. Enough that I noticed it the whole meal. If I could give 4.5 I would, but I'm rounding up because the food was that good. Portions felt solid for a plate-lunch place, the vibe was casual and family-friendly, and nothing about the meal felt fussy. Thought I'd give Mos 2 a try based on the 4 Star average rating by fellow Yelpers. And I'm glad I did. Sure, the whole place isn't much to look at. But after ordering and devouring my large bowl of teriyaki chicken, I could care less about the looks. First off, this is not your typical teriyaki joint. Don't know if it's owned by Mexicans, but it is run by them. In the case of chicken it's charbroiled (I'm guessing the pork and beef are also). And in my book Mexicans know charbroiled chicken better than anybody. And their brand of teriyaki sauce here is not your 'sweet and low' sickening sweet style as are most teriyaki joints. It is however dark, thick and sticky rich with more of a smokey flavor. In a word YUM. And they serve up a generous portion of meat. Top it off with some sliced green onion and damn...it was good. When I pulled up in their parking lot, there were 7 other vehicles and a motorcycle already parked there with a line 4 deep at the order counter and 4 tables with others noshing down their grub. In other words the joint was jumpin'. And for good reason. The place may be a dive. But it's a 5 Star dive where, when you dive into your bowl or plate, you'll be glad you decided to dive into & stepped up to the counter and ordered yourself the best teriyaki you'll ever eat! A side note here. The sign you see pictured is not the sign at this location. I believe there is another location in Santa Ana. It must be from there. My family and I went on vacation to Disneyland and were staying just a few blocks away from Mos #2. We saw the great reviews and decided to go there for dinner! The portions were SO big. My mom and I were able to split the combination plate that came with chicken and beef teriyaki, egg roll, gyoza, and salad. We were both full after dinner. You may think, they probably don't have big appetites but I can assure you we can eat A LOT! :P it was the best teriyaki I've ever had. We had it catered for a family dinner this past weekend out of 10 of us 6 got food poisoning . We called the manager and all he said was he wasn't working so he can't do anything about it. Best believe we are going further up! 2 of those 6 people ended up at the doctors since they were not getting better.
