I'm back in California visiting so I had to visit Mr BBQ. This is my favorite Korean bbq restaurant out here! The service was amazing. My server was so attentive and checked on us constantly. I really enjoyed the service. They were playing music and I was cooking and vibing. I was so happy. I ordered bulgogi, brisket, cheese corn, steamed egg, kimchi soup, ribeye steak, extra orders of banchan, and rice. Everything was 10/10. Mr. BBQ is hands down my favorite Korean bbq spot that I've tried! This is an all you can eat spot where you can either go for the standard menu for $44/pp or a premium menu for $55/pp. I went for the premium menu but ordered off both menus and let me say, all the meats here are AMAZING! My favorite meat to order is the galbi--I highly recommend ordering this. Alongside the amazing food, the service and vibes here are great as well. Our server checked on us often, changed our grill without us asking, and brought us sauces throughout our meal for us to try. The wait is just as long as everyone tells you: at least two hours. There is a Boba shop right next-door so my friends and Ithere got a drink and waited it out. This is one of our friends favorite places to come to every time he is in the OC so we had to try it. Honestly, the meat was super high-quality and everything was really good. On the other hand were very low quality in my opinion. The radish paper tasted very old and we told the waiter and he got us new batch, but it was the same and we just did not want to take the risk anymore. The waiter was extremely professional, and so it wasn't his fault. Would come again only if someone really wanted to try it out, but the weight isn't necessarily worth it in my opinion. Mr. BBQ is the best AYCE bbq in all of Orange County. Every meat that came to our table was top tier. Their banchan are on another level too. The kicker though is their spicy house sauce. Whatever they had in there needs to be bottled up and sold. Another plus on this place is the attentiveness of their staff. When we were running low on meat, there would always be someone there to check on us. Most places, when things start to get smoky, it takes a while before you can flag someone down. My favorite place to get AYCE KBBQ and it never disappoints! The wait is always crazy but that's really the only inconvenience. Meat is great quality but the soups here are also great. Great experience and service thanks to Kaipo our server! The wait time was exceptionally long at over 2 hours when checking in at 5 pm on a Saturday. Luckily, our party of 7 utilized the time to catch up and play games as we waited. Since the waitlist is attached to Yelp, you can frequently check your status via the text link or through the app. Once we seated, we ordered immediately. Service was fast, the grill was efficient, and we ran into no issues once we got down to cooking. Kaipo took great care of us, memorized our orders accurately, brought us all the things we needed, and was very kind. We loved getting to know our server, as this made the experience very memorable and personal. Our favorite meats to order were the beef belly and rib fingers. Other notable picks included brisket and fresh pork belly (thick cut pork belly). Steamed egg was also included which was amazing!! Spicy sauce and sesame oil upon request. During our visit, we celebrated a birthday as well. LED sign, sparkler candle, and ice cream was brought out accompanying a song choice/artist that we liked. This was a special birthday and very celebratory. Only downside to this restaurant is parking can be tough. The lot is small and they share it with another small dessert spot that reserves 3 spots, in addition to take out and check in parking reserved spots as well. They have pretty crazy wait times and lines. Came to eat here at 7pm on a Friday night, my friend waitlisted us at 5pm. Honestly would not have ate here if I had to wait here for so long. Could be very loud at the times especially if people have birthdays and it could get hard to hear each other. They have different price menus, with the more expensive menus including extra items. We really loved the beef brisket and ordered a lot of servings of those, but all menus included the classic cuts of meat such as brisket, bulgolgi, pork belly etc. They also have a good selection of seafood such as squid and shrimp. One of my favorite KBBQ spots! I've definitely been here way too many times to count... oops. I just never got around to writing a review. I love the quality of the meat, and I never feel sick after eating here, which has happened to me at other KBBQ places. There was a point when I was coming here almost once a week because a friend kept inviting me out, but didn't have a go-to KBBQ spot as a lot of them weren't from the area...so of course I recommended this place! Wait times can get pretty long in the evenings. I've seen them go over 2.5 hours. That said, the waitlist system makes it much easier to manage. I've personally never had an issue since I usually arrive early and only wait for a table to be set. If you don't want to wait too long, try going just before 4 or 5 PM, or if you come closer towards closing, the wait has been super short. With inflation, the price has definitely gone up since my first visit, but the meat quality is still great, so I don't mind too much. The servers are always super polite and very efficient. Depending on who you get, you might have to flag someone down occasionally, but overall, the food comes out quickly. Sometimes the servers even give great sauce recommendations, especially if they hear it's your first time. Also, one year I came with a friend for a birthday celebration, and they really know how to make it fun. I felt like a toddler, asking her to show us how to properly cut the meat for grilling, but she was cheerful through the whole experience. I should also mention the food was absolutely delicious. I've only been here twice, but I do agree that the wait times can be quite long. They use a Yelp waitlist that you can only join if you're within five miles of the restaurant. I came for an early-ish dinner on New Year's Eve and still waited about half an hour even after joining the waitlist. It seemed like they may have been short-staffed that day, so the wait was understandable. That said, the service is very good--the waiters are friendly and attentive, and the meats and side dishes are solid. I came here for their lunch and at first I was bummed they didn't have the short ribs available for lunch. But the server suggested the marinated chuck eye and oh my gosh was that a game changer. The servers are friendly. The basic ayce is $30 for lunch and should have almost everything that most people enjoy such as brisket, ribs, bulgogis, etc. All the meat was delicious and juicy. I've heard the talk, from close friends and recommendations this was the best kbbq spot in the city, so I had to give it a try, let's dive in: It was a Sunday night, I already knew the wait time was going to be long, I waited an hour for a party of 3 so that should probably give you a good estimated wait time for busy weekend nights if you're thinking of going. As far as I know I don't think they take reservations, I could be mistaken. The hour went by pretty quick, they have a pretty spacious waiting area too compared to other competitors which was actually an amazing idea. Finally seated, it was almost immediately followed up with our server, he was energetic, had a good vibe to get the night going. They've got plenty of sides here, actually a lot more than competitors than I'm used to, and because my party loves sides we just usually get double as soon as they come out. YES they have rice paper. Menu is pretty standard, they do have a higher tier but I just went with regular dinner. Food came out pretty quick, it was nice to have. Unfortunately the grill wasn't even warmed up by the time the food came, but I'll gladly take that over waiting long for the meats. Their miso pork belly was probably the table favorite, and it was cool to see a mussel option for seafood, I've never had that at a kbbq restaurant. Everything down the menu is pretty solid, tastes great and their brisket sauce is just addictive. Great experience eating here, and to top it off they hook you up with some ice cream to finish off the night, I call that good hospitality. This is the type of KBBQ spot that I can call my go-to spot if I lived in the area but I don't. Can't wait to come back tho! Vibes were there and music was poppin. They give a huge variety of banchan here and if there are a few that you really like, they will give you a bigger portion of it. They are constantly refilling and checking to see if you need more. My faves are their japchae, fish cake, and thinly sliced radish. Their meat menu has a great selection. I'm pretty basic though and just opt for beef belly, beef brisket, premium pork belly, and ribeye bulgogi. They are generous with their portions and are quick to refill your meat orders. Ice cream is free at the end of the meal. The flavors rotate. On this trip the options were black cherry, strawberry, and green tea. If it is someone's birthday, they do something special so make sure to let them know if you're celebrating a birthday. The service has always been great whenever we dine here. Seems like they are adequately staffed to meet all their customers requests which is great. It makes for a more enjoyable dining experience. Parking may be challenging during busy times. read more

I originally wrote a review back in 2022, and coming back in 2026, Mr. BBQ in Fullerton is still an absolutely fantastic AYCE KBBQ spot! This time around, we came with a smaller group of 6. A major heads-up for anyone planning to visit: the secret is out, and walk-in wait times can easily stretch to over an hour or two during peak hours. Do not just walk in cold! Your best bet is to make an "appointment" by joining their waitlist via the Yelp app before you arrive. It saves a massive amount of time and makes the whole evening much smoother. We ordered the dinner special, and the service remains top-notch. Even with a packed house, our server was incredibly attentive, quick, and her great sense of humor really elevated our dining experience. The meats came out fairly fast and were incredibly fresh. I am keeping this at 4 stars for the exact same reason as my 2022 visit: the brisket. Even years later, the brisket hasn't changed. While the very first plate of brisket is delicious, the quality on the subsequent plates drops--they lack flavor and become a little tough to chew. Despite that one minor con, compared to other KBBQ joints in the area, this is probably the best KBBQ in North Orange County. Of course, down in Central or South Orange County there are better options, but if you're looking for great Korean BBQ, a fun atmosphere, and excellent customer service up north, Mr. BBQ is still a highly reliable go-to! read more
