I've only ordered their food to go! My husband and son love their oxtails, and I love their barbecue chicken and Mac & cheese

I stopped into this cozy spot after passing it many times on the highway and finally decided to…read moregive it a try. The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting feel. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I had the chance to meet the owner, Bobby, who was very approachable and took the time to introduce himself. My interactions him and his team I would rate 5-stars. I value supporting Black-owned businesses, which made the visit even more meaningful. One piece of constructive feedback: I ordered fried whiting, and the fish I received did not appear to be whiting. The fish was okay overall, but I would have appreciated being informed if it was unavailable so I could have chosen something else. I'm currently avoiding red meat, chicken, and pork and eating fish only during this Lenten season, so I'm especially particular about my food orders. Because of that, not receiving what I requested was disappointing. For that reason alone, I'd rate the food 3 stars. Because the overall experience was pleasant, I will give a 4 star rating--as I do plan to return to explore other items on the menu. I might order the whiting again, but will confirm the order before leaving and will return to sample more of the menu, especially since my parents love barbecue.

The French toast was burnt, when asked how was my meal , I told the waitress my French toast was burnt, flat and tasteless. She told the cook, her response was " I didn't have the bread I normally use so, I used regular bread and I couldn't do anything about it (burnt). " ARE YOU KIDDING ME, you send out burnt flat Wonder Bread and I should be ok with that. Didn't ask if I wanted something different or adjust the bill or tell me you didn't have French toast. Any of that would have sufficed. I try to support but some make it really difficult. Oh, the shrimp and grits were good, that's what the two stars are for. DO BETTER PLEASE

This place is second to none. You might find a seafood spot that's just as good, but you'll be…read morehard-pressed to find one better. My boy and I are there pretty much every Sunday during NFL season, and honestly, we sneak visits in during the week too -- sometimes just us, sometimes with the wives, sometimes grabbing food to bring back home. The vibe is always cool, welcoming, and family-oriented. Jerry, the owner, is cool as hell and treats people right. The whole staff really does. Danielle, Jordan, Jose -- all love. Now let's get to the food. The whiting? Amazing. The catfish? Amazing. The fried lobster? AMAZING. The shrimp? Always on point. The mac and cheese is easily a 4 to 4.5 out of 5. I'll never say somebody's mac is better than my mama's, but theirs is dangerously close. The collard greens are solid too. Me personally, I like my greens with a little more soul seasoning and spice -- a little cayenne kick built in instead of needing hot sauce afterward -- so for me they're about a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. But I can tell they season them in a way that appeals to everybody's palate and lets people adjust it themselves. The salmon soup? ELITE. They sell out of it constantly, so if you want it, get there early. The only thing I'd personally add would be some crushed chili flakes and corn niblets to take it completely over the top. As somebody who cooks and runs a catering business myself, I'm extremely critical about food, so when I say this place meets the bar and raises it, I mean that. Jose is usually back there cooking every time we go, so I joke that they got him chained to the kitchen -- but clearly he knows what he's doing. Jerry and the family taught him well. Now for honesty: The potato salad isn't really my thing. I'd probably give it a 2.5 out of 5 because, again, it feels made to appeal to all palates instead of heavily seasoned-food lovers like me. Same with the cabbage -- but I'm Jamaican, so unless cabbage is Jamaican-style, you're probably not selling me on it anyway . But the important part is this: the foods people ACTUALLY go to a soul food seafood restaurant for? They absolutely nail them. And now they opened a Brooklyn location too. Trust me -- make the trip. Once you go, you're going to keep going back.

Louisiana joes looks like a small sandwich shop from the outside but inside it is a flavor factory. The staff was so warm and welcoming and were so helpful. We tried the pork sandwich, jambalaya and the Mac and cheese. There are so many great menu options, it was hard to choose. The jambalaya features shrimp, chicken and sausage. So flavorful and the portion size was excellent for the price. The pork sandwich was delicious - pork was super tender. But the star of the show - the Mac and cheese. We are Mac and cheese lovers and try it everywhere. Well congrats, Louisiana joes. You've officially taken the top spot for cheesy deliciousness. I just regret that we didn't add a protein. I wish they were open daily and had longer hours but I also love that they're not because the staff can have lives outside of work. Cannot wait to go back and try more!!!

I have yet to be disappointed by Louisiana Joe's Sandwich Shop. Everything thus far (*ahem 2…read moreitems*) has been flavorful and has opened my taste buds to wanting to try more. The first time I went here, I ordered their shrimp and grits. Simply put, it's delicious. I've been back a couple times just for that. On this visit, based off another Yelpers review, I decided to give the grilled cheese with the beef brisket a try. Sandwiched between two toasted and I want to say buttered (don't quote me on this) brioche sliced breads with Provolone cheese melted on the bottom half and cheddar oozing out on the top half is the perfectly tender and healthy serving of seasoned beef brisket. I had to eat it as soon as I got it to savor in the moment and experience it in its true form. Hot and cheesy. The two cheeses brought the sandwich together nicely creating a savory dance on your tongue. The cheese literally oozes out with eat bite. As good as it was, I know it will not be a frequent meal to grace my belly, because personally, it's just too much meat *for me*. Considering this, I ate the whole sandwich in one sitting. I'm not usually a brisket person, but I was willing to give this one a try. Cheese, meat, and bread, sign me up. It is a lot to eat as far as the meat is concerned, so if you're not a crazy meat eater, don't be surprised if you only have room to eat half if not one full slice. I also wanted to try their corn nuggets, which looks like fried corn bread but rolled into a ball, but they didn't have it that day. I left feeling a little deflated at that, but my belly was full. I doubt whether I would have been able to eat that along with my shrimp and grits. Note: the longer you wait to eat it, the Colder it gets and its not as good as the first couple of bites *IMO* When the mood hits, I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu.

Every dish is seasoned perfectly, the portions are generous, and you can tell everything is made with care. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. The service is always fast, and the restaurant is clean and inviting. Whether it's the rice, beans, meats, everything is consistently delicious. It's become one of our favorite places to eat, and we always leave happy (and with leftovers!). If you're looking for authentic Dominican food and amazing service, this is the place to go. Highly recommend.

Celebrating my eldest graduating today we decided to try Casita RD , we always read so many reviews and it pops up on recommendations around social platforms. The food was great as well as the presentation of each drink and meal brought out to us I ordered the Oxtail with a side yucca mash with added cheese , the oxtail was extremely tender as it should be and the flavor was really well seasoned more on the savory tangy side that paired well with the velvety texture of the yucca mash , I added cheese to my mash however next time (because there will be a next) I would prefer without the cheese flavor of the mash was perfect as is ! My S/o ordered the Boca Chica which was a deep fried Snapper , I cannot really speak on how the flavor of that was but he finished it and was full and satisfied , he paired that with some yucca fries which were very filling . My children both had their own meals of fried chicken my son with fries he's pretty simple and my daughter chose the Moro , the Moro looked so good I asked if I could try some and I am so happy I did bc the Moro especially at a restaurant was flavorful and on point ! I was happy with the food we chose , our family friend ordered the mofongo with the chiccharon she had to have me try it because she said it was delicious and it was , the chiccaron paired with the creamy sauce was such a decadent pairing and not too much , for drinks we ordered a few items like the Morir sonando that was made with fresh pressed orange juice and tasted like one of the greatest creamsicles I can find and I had a Chinola juice , which was perfect not too sweet. my husband had a few drinks , I ordered the white wine sangria which also was strong and very delicious served with fresh fruit . For the ending of our meal we had the tres leches and the lava Cake , we aall shared although the lava cake baked fresh to order I wasn't a fan I prefer the tres leches . I had a more than happy food experience and state it again extremely happy with all the food choices we honestly ate so much that there's items I failed to even talk about bc they were just great but I will be coming back again soon ! I can strongly say even if I didn't try a item I could say it would be good and well prepared their service is great and the food and drinks are made to perfection

I explained to him that my order was already done. He didn't care. I then noticed some completed orders near the drive up window. I was told none were mine, but a very nice lady looked at my phone and then went ahead and found my ticket and put the order together. If not for her, I would have been standing on that other line for an hour. Totally dysfunctional.
