I applied for a solar loan and then decided to get a cashout refinance on my house to pay for the solar upfront. That was in July and the solar company said they would process the loan cancellation with Mosaic. Come September, my solar hasn't even been turned on because of some permit issues and Mosaic says my loan is closing and that my first payment is due soon. I contact them saying it was supposed to be cancelled and they said they need confirmation from the solar company so I had someone from the solar company confirm with them and then Mosaic sent me an email saying the solar company confirmed and that the loan was in the process of cancellation. A few weeks later they send me my first statement and deduct the first payment from my bank account. So I call customer service asking why and they looked at everything and said they don't know why because everything should have been cancelled so they escalated the issue and confirmed that my loan would be closed soon. Now this morning I get an email from them stating that my solar installer has to confirm the cancellation and that I'm still on the hook for my monthly payments until the loan is officially cancelled. So I just had to send them a a screenshot OF THEIR OWN EMAIL TO ME saying that everything was confirmed. Fucking scammers. If they continue to go in circles I'm contacting a lawyer. read more

This is the worst run solar loan company. They did not transfer the loan into my name when they were supposed to in March 2020. Didn't get it fully transferred until November 2020 and they are charging me the back interest for the time period unbeknownst to me. I only found out because we are in the process of refinancing our home and although I have made 7 payments, our loan amount is exactly the same as when we assumed it. I've been calling since 7/26/21 and the issue still has not her resolved. Borrower beware!!! read more

Solar Mosaic inc, customer service is by far one of the rudest I have ever encountered. The attitude of their agents is arrogant and dismissive. I paid off my loan in April because I did not want to have to deal with this company in any way shape or form. I received a refund check in May. I ran my credit report thru the major 3, not a freebie one in August and it still shows as open, not paid off. When I called Mosaic I got attitude, that it had been reported on August 6th. it was delayed due to the refund that was sent to me in May. Absolutely horrible customer service. They took out money AFTER the loan was paid off. They had the audacity to say I didnt cancel auto pay. How in the world can you take a payment when there is no balance. And trying to get a refund has been a nightmare. Was told it was going to be another week. We have since lost a buyer who was willing to take on the payments, when their credit score was better than ours when we signed up with Mosaic initially. But that's neither here or there. We were promised by Vivint solar, no liens would be placed. OOPS. Failed to mention that their lender/partner in crime, does INDEED place a lien. If you want to sell or re-fi, don't use this company. Honestly, I don't understand why we cant move the panels and continue to pay, like one does a vehicle. They can re-po the panels the same way banks do with a car. But- I guess they want to corner you into paying them so you can move. They basically hold you hostage in your home if you want to move. Mosaic won't release the loan and the bank wants their money. I have waited 4 months for my loan be cancelled. 12-15 calls later NOTHING has been done. UPDATE!! once again this company continues to ruin my life. Good news though, the loan closed successfully in June........ but apparently they're still reporting to the credit bureau that im still the borrower on the loan and that im 30 days late. I dreaded calling the company to sort this out because i knew i would get the most shittiest customer service in the whole damn universe. I dialed in and "Jacob" answers, he asked for the usual security crap name, acct# etc. I figured i'd give the account # that i was prev assigned to to see if the loan was still in my name. Jacob asks me if im the account holder and i said that the loan was transferred in june but the loan is still showing in my credit report. He then continued on telling me his "shpeal" lol that since im not the acct holder he cant tell me anything. So i said i dont need to know what is happening to the account i want to know why your company is still reporting to the credit bureau that i own the acct?? Jacob repeated his "shpeal" and it was like he couldn't comprehend what i was telling him, like a robot that malfunctioned he just kept repeating "i can not tell you any thing about the acct" I mean what did i expect SMH, shame on me to think that there would have been changes. Well, Im off to call the credit bureau and sort this out with them at least they have a slightly better customer service that this company. So again another warning use this company at your own risk. WORST COMPANY EVER! There should be negative stars. Every time I call in to speak to a manager I swear I get the same person, just giving me a different name. I have multiple different names now and they all sound like the same person. No one there even tries to work with you. When I originally placed the complaint in March 2023 I was advised that the rest of my solar loan was not to have been funded until PTO (Permission to Operate) was received. They even emailed me asking to provide documents that the system was not operational. I have been trying to have them send me what MC Solar (scammers) provided to them as PTO and now they are changing the story stating that they pay upon completion. AGAIN...no matter how you word it, the job was never finished. NO Certificate of Completion was received (or PTO), the inspection failed and the permit is now expired. They also demand payment every month even though the system doesn't work. The panels were installed March 2022. That's right...almost a year and a half later and still not working. And I am paying the loan and full electric bill! Mosaic had brought in Omnidian (remediator) to get a solar company to see what needed to be finished and they are even giving the run around since March 2023. Stating that they haven't heard from the Solar Company they hired (Lunex) on what needs to be done and that Lunex is short staffed. They are all terrible! I advise anyone reading this that are thinking of going solar...DON'T DO IT! They cause roof leaks, the loan setup makes for a nightmare when trying to sell, you will need a battery backup (which the sales guy lied to me saying I didn't need one), AND the insurance companies will skyrocket your payments too! My husband and our escrow company have been trying to transfer our solar loan to our buyers of the home since March 5. We have had nothing but a terrible time- being mislead and several documents and emails later and mosaic is still not doing what they have said will be done. My husband spoke with Tina Torres who said the doc was loaded into our file and our escrow company would have no problem proceeding with what needed to be handled. After calling 5 times and speaking with multiple people about the same thing over a weeks period. Finally after being on the phone for 30 minutes we were able to speak with a supervisor( Ryan Towsley) who told us that the file was in fact up to date and again our escrow company would not have any issues- yet again another lie. I am now less then a week from closing and leaving the country in 2 weeks for military reassignment-this is unacceptable and for a business to treat its clients like this. It is horrible. This company is the absolute WORST! We are selling our home and need to get the loan transferred to the buyers. Mosaic has been completely unresponsive. All that is left to do is for them to complete a VERY simple and standard form required by all lenders in these transactions. When you do get someone on the phone they each give conflicting information. We have mostly sat on hold, and then when we finally do talk so someone, as soon as they do not have an answer they literally hang up on you. In a best case scenario they have transferred us to another line to leave a voicemail. We were able to identify that someone named Dan Eaton is handling our "case" and he is one of two people who do this for the entire company. Of course no calls have been returned. Their lack of follow through and service, combined with their incompetence is now literally putting the sale of our home in jeopardy. They are leaving us with no other option but to look into legal alternatives. read more

UPDATE: I received a phone call from a very nice manager at Mosaic and he reviewed our contract and agreed that our contract did not state there would be a fee to file the UCC Termination. He advised that since we entered into our contract they have added that language about the fee. He is waiving our fee, he had the UCC Termination recorded immediately and we were able to close on our re-fi yesterday. This situation has been resolved to my satisfaction. If I could give a zero rating I would. CLOUDING OF TITLE WARNING!!! We are attempting to do a refinance of our home and despite everything that has been told to us concerning a lien (UCC Financing Statement) being put on your property, everything that they claim on their website, and even with what is printed in our contract, we are unable to proceed with our refinance until we pay a $250 service fee to Mosaic!! This is not stated in our contract or on Mosaic's website. You don't find out about this little tidbit of information until you start the process of refinancing (or taking out a second mortgage). Our lender has advised us that Mosaic absolutely does hold a formal position (ie, first second third) as it relates to the home, which is exactly the opposite of what it states on Mosaic's own website. So, they basically hold your refinance or obtaining a second mortgage hostage until you pay this ridiculous fee. This brings me to another point, the filing/recording of the UCC1 Termination and re-filing of the UCC form is hardly $250, but nominal filing/recording fees. In addition, a real estate attorney advised me that the UCC form can be filed in a manner that wouldn't cloud our title at all (not filing as a fixture filing and not recording the UCC filing with the real estate records). I have requested in writing for this fee to be waived, pointing out everything I have mentioned here, only to be told a week later (further delaying our refinance) that no they won't waive the fee. Recently had solar installed on my home and was informed that Solar Mosaic Inc. would be my finance company. My first payment I contacted them to. 1. Change my billing date from the 16th to the 1st of the month. Sorry we can't do that... 2. Okay I'll pay through my banks bill pay... Oh, that's an additional $6.00 3. The company helped discontinue auto pay... Money still auto paid from my account... 4. We will adjust to reflect next months payment... Never adjusted payment... This company can't adjust bill dates, accept standard bill pay from banks without a $6.00 additional charge. Then insures you on the phone that they will be jumping through hoops to correct or adjust there mistakes and yet never lifts a finger to correct or adjust anything. I've only worked with them online for the first couple of years and everything is fine there. But I had one quick question that I thought would be best answered over the phone: I needed an exact amount/timeline for my choice target to avoid going into the higher interest rate. The rep refused to give me any info without the last 4 digits of my SSN. Apparently, name, address, birthdate, and account number aren't enough. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor to complain. Actual quote from rep: "I can't transfer you unless you give me the last 4 of your SSN." Wow. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! STAY AWAY!!! STAY AWAY!! Mosaic is a joke. They rejected a well qualified buyer and his fiancée that were purchasing a home and caused them to lose their dream home. We called Mosaic several times and was finally able to speak to an "Underwriter" that was rude, condescending, called us liars, and offered no solution. Mosaic uses the credit reporting agencies to "qualify" buyers for solar loans, well the credit companies said that both buyers were well qualified and didn't understand why Mosaic was rejecting them as applicants for the solar loan. The "Underwriter" offered no help and said that nothing could be done even though we were told that the underwriting team was doing a COD, Credit Decision Override, which would take 7-15 business days for the review to be completed. Well the Underwriter said, "No," called us liars and was done and said no CDO would be done to help the buyers qualify. I can not believe this company doesn't care about the buyers that are purchasing their first home! We called the "general information line" at Mosaic and was told that the criteria to qualify was to have a 600 credit score and be able to afford the $100 a month payment. WHAT???!!! The buyers' credit scores are nearly 700 and their income is way sufficient to be able to pay $100 a month solar bill. DO NOT work with Mosaic if you are buying or selling a home because they will ruin your deal and not care. We were never told what could be done to correct the "legit decline" which even confused the reps at the Credit reporting agencies, instead, the "underwriter" called us liars and said, "Well, I'm saying no and it will not be reviewed and that's it." His arrogance just hurt so many families. I called back to find out his name and was told that he didn't put it in the notes, but he had updated the file. Imagine that! read more

I have never seen a financing organization who cannot compute what to do if their self chosen payment extraction date falls on a Sunday, they send their customers ALERT messages: "ALERT - Your account is currently delinquent. You are 0 day(s) past due. You must immediately pay $185.40 to bring your account current. If you do not bring your account current, we will assess additional late charges and your solar system may be disabled. Make a payment now " It is not my 'fault" that my auto payment extraction date falls on a Sunday, nor will I accept your company's billing screw-up. As an Accounting Corporation owner, I am appalled and demand a complete retraction of this idiocy brought on by your company.
