I cant even rate them. I will try to be short.. alot of the reviews are very accurate.. poor customer service.. I had 2 people hang up on me and claim internet connection.. One lady told me that she was in the carribean. So the customer service is outsourced to island folks and they set them up to talk to us because they KNOW they stealing from people. I have an approved loan for refinance. The bank has even said Mosaic won't answer them. They have put a lien on my house for the panels. I AM NOT DELINQUENT... AND I AM NOT SELLING MY HOUSE... Mosaic won't do a lien release unless I pay the panels off completely.. so basically I can do anything to MY house unless I give them $64K.. The basically holding a gun to my head saying YOU GONNA GIVE US THE MONEY!! #1 I didn't know it was lien on my house until now.. so I was told it was in my contract but my contract was through Freedom Forever. Then I was told that the temporary lien release policy was changed in fall of 2023.. Well, I didn't sign that contract or get that policy update and for the record my panels are almost 3 years old.. So, IF it was in my original contract that contract had lien release clause...I had my panels before the policy change that I didn't sign nor did they send me any policy change info. Also, why is their a lien release prompt on the automated system if they won't release anyone's property... I need legal help... if anyone has gotten help or filed a suit please let me know because this is ridiculous.. read more

Do NOT do business with Mosaic Or Freedom Forever Solar. I tried To cancel my contract within 3 days but salesman talked me out of canceling. I finally cancelled about 10 days after. Freedom Forever did not do any work on my house and I received no gifts or inducements for the contract. Now I am trying to sell my house and Mosaic has a lien. They keep saying that they are working on it. in January the assured me it would be done by Feb 1. Today I got notice they will have the lien removed by March 1st. No doubt I will then get notice for April 1. read more

Easy process to sign-on, easy to transfer funds, very clear payment terms, and great return on the investment! (So far, I have gotten back 5.62% average, that's better than any bank or CD out there right now). I have invested in 2 projects and so far, the interests and the re-payments of the principal have been coming back steadily every month. Their statements are very detailed. Some projects take a long time to get funded and the notes issued tough, and there are not as many projects in California as I may like but I hope more will come soon. read more

I was told by the representative that I would be as fully off grid as possible, that I would only have a connection fee from the power company, that I would have power going to the entire house in the instance of a power outage. None of this was true, my Water Heater & AC aren't even connected to the solar power, my electric bill continues to go up & just a week ago we had a power outage, we had solar power for a few hours from the battery then had to wait for the power company to get back up, with no hot water or ac. No one explains the Tesla app to you either, you have to figure that out on your own. This has been, by far, the worse decisions of my life & I've been married twice. Now they are telling me it is going to cost more to get what I initially signed up for, acting like they never stated I would be as fully off grid as possible. read more

Reasonably painless process - so far. Financed a solar panel install with them via Freedom Forever. Standard contract documents that disclose the principle and interest schedule and when what is due from the tax credits and payments if those are not applied within the time limit. DON'T USE! YOU WILL REGRET IT! Absolutely worst shadiest loan company ever! Any Hour Plumbing set us up with a loan from them to put in a new sewer line. I have been paying my bill every month for over 2 years. I have only been late twice. I will not give this shady company access to my bank for auto payments so I do it through my bank's billpay which mails them a check. I have done this the whole time and they didn't have a problem with it until the second year into the loan. They get it with a reasonable amount of time to process yet they are always claiming I am late and they harrass me constantly before my payment is even late! They harass to insist I set up auto payments which I refuse. They put one payment in as extra rather than my monthy payment and then said I didn't make my payment. They never could even get their stories straight between operators! Supervisor told me they start contacting the day it is due but that's a lie. They harass weeks before it is due and it is non-stop. I HAVE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT PEOPLE!!! They even sent a creepy hand written letter stuck in my door threatening collections. Steer clear of this nightmare. NOT WORTH IT! read more

First, thanks to Mosaic for reaching out to me by private message and actually trying to resolve the problem rather than simply posting a message asking me to contact them. A representative of Mosaic ended up calling me a few days after this post. He was very apologetic and very professional in our communication. The issue with my payment, as I stated, had to do with them setting up a new portal and the new portal apparently not recognizing payments made on the old portal. They've fixed the issue with the payments and the new portal seems to be working now. So, here's the story on Mosaic from my perspective: 1. They offer solar loans at very, very competitive interest rates. That's an awesome thing for us as borrowers. A loan at sub-3% interest is great. 2. They seem to be a very tech-driven shop - hence the reason for charging to pay by paper check, etc. I'm sure that the reliance on technology rather than humans to do work helps them to be profitable while still offering lower interest rates. 3. Up until this incident, their customer service (with me) had been great. The few day period between my first collection e-mail and my return call from their rep was bothersome. But, again they rectified it. I'm assuming that the change in portal was a blip, that it screwed up a lot of things in their system that they weren't prepared for. Stuff happens. It works now. I guess my only remaining frustration is relative to payments as mentioned above. I have all of my recurring payments set up on auto pay through my bank. The reason for this is because I trust my bank to send the exact amount I tell them to on the exact day I tell them to. If they don't, they step in and fix it. Mosaic wants all of us to be on auto pay and I just won't do it. Especially after this experience. I had a company once debit my account over $2K for a $200 bill and it took four months of arguing and fighting to get it corrected. I don't allow any company to auto debit my account. It seems that, because of their setup, I can't have my bank send them auto drafts without paying a $6 per month fee and I don't trust them to be able to auto debit my account, so I have to make my payments manually every month. Anyway, overall, if I had it to do over again, I'd still borrow from them and their program is pretty good. read more

My solar installer referred me to Mosaic to finance our solar install 8 years ago. Recently, I applied for a HELOC and needed Mosaic to temporarily remove/subordinate their UCC filing on our title. Per the lender's title company, Ticor, as of 12/1/23 they no longer provide such service so I called myself and was confirmed with a Mosaic agent this was their new policy. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager explained that "Mosaic leadership feels this is an unnecessary expense for their customers and that the title company and mortgage lender should realize this is solely a filing against the solar panels themselves." I advised them that according to CA real estate law (I am a 25 year CA real estate broker and my wife a real estate attorney) that since the panels are affixed to the property they are considered real property and essentially view as a lien and for a new HELOC the UCC filing would need to be removed and later refiled once the transaction is complete. I also reiterated that this was not how the financing agreement was sold to me by their agent and was told prior to installation that to subordinate the UCC filing it was a simple form and a nominal fee to temporarily remove. The manager acknowledged they have been getting many complaints to the new policy and understood why I was upset, but there was nothing he could do other than pass along my opinion to upper management. So at this point I've been given the choice of paying off the panels in entirety or forgo my the HELOC. On a side note, the title company said this is the first time they've come across a solar UCC filing where the finance company was unwilling to temporarily remove so their customer can refinance. My interest rate is at an extremely low 3.9% on the panels, so I don't think it's a coincidence they changed their policy. Aside from their reluctance to assist on this refinance, Mosaic has been fine , but I've always paid my loan on time. If you choose to finance your solar project make sure you ask about their policy regarding future home refinances and get it in writing! read more

Later on, they rejected the payment from my solar company and saying that they don't know where to apply the payment. Hello Mosaic, you emailed me saying you have received my payment, and now you said you don't know what's that for? I called them, and they asked me to find out if my solar company paid by check or ACH. I was like, you knew it. And the lady said, they don't know coz they rejected my payment. The roofing company I am using sent me a contract to finance my roof replacement. I nearly dies when I looked at the loan contract. First it was written for the full amount of the job, which I told the roofer I was putting down $6000.00, but the real shock was Mosaic was charging 12.99% interest. I used to work on NYC in the 80's and they were charging bookie interest rates. Not sure why they went with this company but my last house they financed a roof at 6.99%. Tried to refinance our house and mosaic caused a 2 week delay that ended up throwing our whole refinance down the drain because the rate lock WITH an extension expired. Since posting the previous review, I have lost my first buyer due to the solar contract. He wasn't approved, and so he backed out of the sale. In the meantime, I lost the house that I was hoping to purchase. Because I lost my offer, I also lost my earnest money. It took me an additional 30 days to get another offer because no one wanted to take on the solar contract. Imagine my frustration when my 2nd buyer was not approved for the loan either! I spoke to someone today who swore he had the most authority in the company and that my buyer would not be approved. He stated that it was a "bad loan" but wouldn't give me any specific information as to why! He kept saying that he was sorry but that my buyer would not be approved. He stated that his job wasn't to make me happy but to do what was best for his shareholders instead. Obviously money is the bottom line, and they don't care that they are preventing me from selling my house! I hope that there are solar companies out there that care about their customers! If there are, then finance with those companies instead!! If I had known then what I know now, I never would have put solar panels on my home. 12/20/19-The nightmare is finally over!! My loan was finally transferred the end of October. In the meantime, I had to make a payment on the panels that I no longer owned. Of course I will never see that money again. I have given them 2 stars for one reason only, Alicia C. She messaged me personally and kept me informed of everything that was happening with the transfer process. If she was the sole customer service representative for this company, they would definitely have 5 stars on Yelp! The process of getting the loan transfer completed has been the worst experience of our attempted home purchase. This process with the solar and Mosaic has been going on for weeks, however just to provide some insight- In just three days I have been provided 5 different timelines, processes and excuses. Everyone I speak to has little to no training to support the process or provide any real support. When transferred to a supervisor, she did not provide any support other than to repeat aspects of the contract which did not answer the questions as to why the loan application was not provided or why the process and timeline information provided was different in each conversation. Additionally, her tone became unprofessional and condescending and she lacked the knowledge needed to provide answers to questions. This process has delayed our home purchase going on 4 weeks now, and consequently we need to update many documents, our interest rate is now higher and we have incurred many additional costs due to our closing date changing as a result of company being unable to effectively transfer the loan. read more

Honestly this is the worse experience my husband and I have had with any professional company. For one, this company works within the housing industry because it finances solar panels, and you know, houses are bought and sold and it seems they do not care at all about what a buyer and seller has to go through just to secure the deal. My husband submitted the required authorization via email to reach out to the buyer as instructed, in order to get this loan transfer underway on NOVEMBER 25TH!! They lied and said there was a GLITCH and they got it on Monday, December 2nd. It's been over a week and the rep said it was not documented that my buyer was contacted to get the loan transfer started. Now it's been 2 weeks? I have lost any and all confidence. We are literally sitting here waiting for Mosaic to do their job so we can move into our new homes. How many customers will never work with SunPower or any other company that works with Mosaic in order to avoid this nightmare? We wanted to move into our home before Christmas but this completely is ruining our plans. I am reporting this to the BBB as well because I read these complaints and see the same exact problem. The glitch. The lies. The delays. Read the reviews and tell me what's going on! We just want this over with!!! They promised us 10 days and now we are in week 3!!! They were not clear with their communication and they told the Credit Union to pay out all the funds to the Solar Installer that had not yet completed the task. The solar provider then went bankrupt. Then when we called Mosaic they said they had no contract with us to allow that and they would not speak to us about it. The Credit Union said they do have a contract with Mosaic. The Credit Union said Mosaic was lying. I think there is fraud and do not trust Mosaic. read more

This is a predatory lender,they talk you into a loan but don't disclose upfront that nearly all of your monthly payments go to interest,only a few dollars to the principal each month. If you want to Refi your house they have a lien attached,but they don't make it easy to pay them off. Poor customer service,misleading,not at all helpful,after all why should they be ? They're making interest every day they have your loan.
