Our family ate here on a day when it was 100 degrees outside, and despite having available tables inside with AC and outside with shade, we were seated in the sun. While there was a thin netting overhead, it was not nearly enough to make a difference, it was very hot and we were melting. Eventually concluded that it was some form of hazing by the hostess, as we were the only family in the entire restaurant that was subjected to this treatment. At least the food was good, so two stars for that. Please be mindful of the temperature and outdoor conditions when seating customers. There was no need at all for us to suffer like that. Restaurant in Sheraton next to turtle bay. Cauliflower steak and halibut crusted entrees for dinner were very tasty. Well seasoned with yummy veggie sides. The charcuterie board was a good starter so very satisfied with the meal. Our server was very attentive and friendly and Gould tell he enjoyed his job. Patrons were dressed casual to fancy so seemed like a hip spot for regulars and tourists alike. Would definitely come here again when visiting. read more

Honestly....not a fan. We have a lot of meetings here and I think the food is lacking. I especially think that it's way too pricey for the quality. I've had several meals there now and I think it's not my style. I prefer quality of quantity, but Mosaic really has neither. If you do go, I suggest the brick oven pizzas. I've come in here multiple times, twice to eat and twice to drink. The bartenders aren't very friendly but poured a beer well lol. Asked the hostess if they had iced coffee and she said no, she seemed swamped but I've been a waitress before and I know you can just get a cup of ice and put the hot coffee in it so I was disappointed when she didn't care to offer that. Also the bartenders accommodated a couple of my drink requests (2 oz porter + 1 oz averna + 1 oz Benedictine, all over a big rock, and a 1919 cocktail with bulleit rye, Zaya rum, averna and Benedictine) which came out well. While visiting the Sundial Bridge we saw people walking around with pizza boxes and ice cream sundaes. Checking Yelp we found Mosaic walking distance away next to the Sheraton. This restaurant is decorated to give you a modern yet mountain lodge feel and also had outside dining. Beautiful bar area and a varied but short menu. My wife and I split a Cesar Salad and a Classic pizza as it was 8:00 at night. Cesar salad was large enough for two and came with some focaccia bread. The pizza was out of this world and was as good a NYC pizza. We lived in NY most of our lives. Best pizza we have found in Ca. Teresa was the host and made us feel at home with her warm smile and friendly manner. Definitely we will stop again when in the area. Great place for any occasion. read more

I eat at Mosaic about once a month as I am passing through town and stay the night at the Sheraton. This is one of the best restaurants I have run across in the area. I usually eat while sitting at the bar where their best bartender Jordan makes sure my glass is never empty, and my meal is served perfectly to my liking. I came here with high hopes. Our waiter was great. Super friendly and personable. It took over an hour and a half before we finally received our pizza which was tasty enough, but seemed as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long and the cheese was rubbery. I have been to mosaic 3x. Atmosphere is great-- both in & outdoors. Great for company and group hangouts. However, I am disappointed with the quality of the food. The first time ordered a pizza topped with an egg we had seen online & for some reason it wasn't available that day I think because they were out of eggs. Then got the club sandwich, french fries tasted old and were cold. Today ordered shrimp tacos (my friend ordered them as well) and it was 3 of the smallest tacos I've ever seen. Still hungry I ordered a side salad as well. For $14 we definitely expected the portion to be somewhat filling but we both agreed it was the saddest shrimp tacos we have ever ordered anywhere and the black bean side dish was underwhelming as well. If you go there for the ambiance you will be impressed, but the food I have found each time to be just meh for the price. read more

The management lies to applicants stating they don't need previous experience to apply. Got an interview that didn't work with my schedule so Chris the hotel manager said he'd call me for more positions later during the week, which he never did. He never returned any phone calls and just basically avoided ne entirely. Very unprofessional. I now understand why they need new workers as there management is dishonest. read more

Food took 25 minutes to be brought out. Burger did not look like the Yelp pictures. I ordered medium rare, the waitress brought it out well-done. I didn't send the food back because I didn't want to wait any longer. Toppings looked over cooked as well. Not "instagram-worthy". Ate half my burger and left. In-n-out burger is better. We came on a Sunday (make a reservation) and they were a bit busy. It felt that they were understaffed but there seemed to be enough people around that didn't seem to be doing a whole lot. Very unexpected restaurant that we stumbled upon in Redding. We were looking for breakfast on our way to Lake Shasta and found Mosaic (which is attached to the Sheraton at Turtle Bay and the Sundial Bridge). This restaurant has a really cool vibe to it and also had a nice bar. There was a section in the back which looked like a nice place to have dinner. We had an omelette and beans, both were great. I ordered room service on several occasions during my stay, everything was fine until I ordered the charcuterie board it was old and was not good at all meats and cheese. We came for dessert after a lovely walk on the Sundial Bridge. We sat on the patio, surrounded by pleasant local foliage, soft lighting, heaters and excellent music. The sound of the river spilled up to our table as our server Annie expertly described the desserts. She made them all sound so good, we ordered all three and a cappuccino. The Lemon Bar was a perfect mix of thick pastry, tart lemon curd and sweet whipped cream. The fresh blackberries, though, were what sent this dessert over the edge into decadent perfection. The chocolate pot de creme was a deep, rich experience. The thick, yet silky chocolate cream was extraordinary and flavorful without being over powering, and the vanilla float on top was in spectacular balance. Topped with light whipped cream, chocolate bark and candied hazelnuts, this dessert is a new favorite. Finally, the affagato was better than any we have ever had. The espresso was smooth, the ice cream was rich, and the toasted was a delicious addition. The cappuccino was a cozy cup of the perfect amount of foam. We loved the whole aesthetic, down to water glasses. We will be back, and we're bringing friends! This a spot you don't want to miss. read more

Great atmosphere, proper interior design, plating , etc. Service is pretty good. We ordered a few drinks, appetizer, a pasta, a steak, and dessert. Everything except the steak is top notch. I expect a little bit more out of the steak for $43. They Sous Vide the steak for rare, put it in a fridge and then heat it to medium rare which caused the crust to become thick, losing the benefit of it being Sous Vide. When we had a chat, one of their chief for some reason thinks 128F Sous Vide temp is medium well? I just assumed he isn't the one that actually does Sous Vide. However they replaced the steak tentatively for a rare one (so they only needed to sear it), making the steak good enough. But I still expect better seasoning/sear with herb and garlic for a more complex flavor. Obviously it can be just me being a pain in the butt, the steak could be perfect to another person. Their service more than made up to it, the manager offered comping the steak(which we denied since they did a good enough job) and free desserts. read more

First thing that grabs you is the ambiance. It's lovely for a night out and dine. Of course it is part of the Sheraton thought it is fairly removed. We arrived quite late but they were able to seat us in the lovely cozy patio. The patio is lovely especially if it is not too warm or at night after sunset. We didn't order much but pizza and some appetizers. The pizza was a good size for two people who are not super hungry and the appetizers were really well cooked. I thought the food came out fairly quickly. We had also ordered some cocktails which were pretty well done though slightly boozy. But really quite good. Not necessarily a stand out for food but definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner out or a date. read more

Not a good experience. We were seated outside, which was fine, but the guests at the table next to us had their "rescue dog" with them. The dog aggressively growled at the waiter. Owners were oblivious. Waiter seemed oblivious as well. We requested an inside table and were obliged with a very small cocktail table inside. I ordered a $50 steak, and my husband ordered a salad. We also ordered a couple of cocktails and wine with dinner. Steak was average, service, once inside, was average, (and I'm stretching it). I said, I want ham and pineapple on one side, and only cheese on the other. He said "I'll have to check". Redding, California is in the midst of massive gentrification. Or revitalization, as folks like to call it. Driven largely by out of towners relocating here, many of whom are affiliated with Bethel church, as well as immense (and illegal) rental price hikes after last summer's massive wildfire, this once quiet little city off of the 5 is being urbanized and suburbanized by non-locals with money. There are about a million local coffee roasters now and artistinal everything at LA prices, in a community with a very large population of underprivileged, underemployed, undereducated and underhomed residents. Sounds just about like every other "city" in America right now, right? The replacement of the community that's existed for decades with newcomers of means with visions of rooftop bars and bike paths and "urban murals" everywhere and very little insight into how they impact the invisible people in their community. Anyway, enough about my feelings. Mosaic is a restaurant connected to Redding's new Sheraton by the Sundial Bridge. It's hip, modern and sexy on the inside, and the menu boasts a large array of locally sourced ingredients and big city prices. So I brought my parents to dinner here. Overall, the experience was quite nice. Our server, whose name I don't remember, was friendly. Food and drinks came out quickly. Ambiance was nice--and the place was poppin'. We started with drinks and an app. My mother got the Blackberry Bramble, a nice and effervescent gin-based cocktail, and I got the Ruggles Gold, a smoked bourbon cocktail that was much more smoky than I had anticipated but also packed less of a punch.My father ordered coffee and the calamari, which I think he enjoyed, though he wasn't a fan of the rosemary aioli it came with or the way the secondary side of marinara interacted with the squid. For mains, my mother ordered the salmon, which she reported was good. I ordered the Harvest Risotto, a beet risotto under a mound of roasted fennel and carrots and spicy micro greens. It was fine, the texture was good, but I felt like there was something unbalanced about it. I'm not a foodie, nor do I have the best palate, so I'm not going to go crazy critical here. Maybe there were just too many veggies on top. I also couldn't taste the beet component at all; it seemed like it just added color, which is meh. We also ordered a margherita pizza for the table. Our waiter was cute and made sure I knew that it was served with spots of mozzarella and not just Round Table. I liked the pizza. The dough had a good chew, the cheese was good, they put A LOT of basil on. The sauce was heavier, less bright and more oregano-heavy than most pizzas of this ilk that I've had--but I like heavy, intensely seasoned sauces, so I was all in. I also ordered a glass of Shiraz. It was nice. Overall, the restaurant experience and ambiance were very nice. It's clearly a place people can come for a special occasion and it is a very cool and kind of sexy space. 4 stars for all of that. The food left me a bit lukewarm, though, especially considering the prices. I wish I had skipped on the risotto and just gotten the pizza--though I guess I don't really, because then I would still be wondering about the risotto. Overall, 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because of the ambiance and service. read more
