I went here once when they opened up and then I just went again last night for my nieces birthday. I remember why I can't stand on this place. 1. Can't go with a large party they separate you with two cooks totally opposite sides. It's like not even being in the same group of people. 2. They do not provide you with very much food at all in the Teppanyaki. It says you get an appetizer and that consisted of two shrimp. Lol 3. The first waiter that we had that was taking our drink order and took our meal order had such a heavy accent. It didn't even sound like he was speaking English. I ordered a more expensive sake, and he proceeded to explain to me how it was pointless to get the more expensive sake when I can get the cheapest sake for the same thing. So I tried it and the cheap cheapest saki is disgusting! 4. When I got my portion of the bill which was my meal and my daughter's meal it was over $80 and they added themselves in 18% gratuity. They said it was because we were in a large party but again we were not! We couldn't even communicate with half of our party. 5. And the last thing that pissed me off the most is that they get you in and out in one hour. They totally rushed us!! Kobe is a great place to celebrate any event. We had reservations for seven people and when we all arrived the table was already set. Kobe is well decorated and their fresh fish is on display as you walk in. They have a varied menu along with the teppanyaki items. Everything is fresh and along with the meals they have a Yum Yum sauce along with a ginger dipping sauce. I had the Teriyaki beef( I I believe it's the trim from the NY Strip and Fillet). My portion was huge, along with fried rice, grilled vegetables and two complimentary shrimp. All the meals were this way, also a salad and a tasty onion broth. I have seen this place quite a few times and decided to go for a date night! They weren't very busy as it was one of the rainiest days this month, so we were greeted quickly and given the option to sit at a regular table or one of the grills. We opted for a grill because I was excited to experience dinner and a show. Our drinks arrived quickly and they checked on us often throughout the meal. Another group of people showed up about 10 minutes later and sat down with us so it took a good bit for everything to get started as they had to take their orders to. We enjoyed a Spicy Tuna Roll and thought their onion soup and salad were delicious! I ordered the chicken and shrimp and my boyfriend ordered the steak and shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, but the rice,veggies, and other meats were just alright. The bill arrived and we left satisfied, but felt it was too expensive overall. Went here for the first time the other night. Food was delicious & service was excellent. Ambiance was nice & place looked very clean. Not sure why they only have 3.2 stars. Went late in the evening & greeted immediately. Rinto was our server & he was very nice & attentive. The flavor of the soup, salad, steak, shrimp, vegetables, & fried rice was perfect . Reminded me of a favorite restaurant elsewhere that I've been wanting for a long time. For 2 ppl was over $100 plus tip but I did make another meal out of it. Soup good, salad ok, dressing was watery, rice was good, NY Strip was thin and a little tough and only ended up being about 8 tiny slices of steak. The Filet that the other diners ordered was probably 3 inches thick and look yielded a lot more steak bites. The shrimp was tasty but it came last. So you are eating each item by itself, the rice, then your steak, then your shrimp. It seemed like the time management was a little off. The sauces yum-yum tasted the same as the salad dressing and the brown one was sweet, not sure what it was. Overall the food was ehh. read more

We ordered fillet, scallops, and shrimp. We also ordered fired rice for an extra cost. You see the skilled teppanyaki chef skillfully dice all the veggies and prepare the main items ordered right in front of all at the teppanyaki table of 10. The various menu selections of foods ordered - 5/5 The veggies, fired rice, and all foods ordered were cooked to perfection. The veggies were seasoned and cooked just right. Not overcooked to mushiness or undercooked where it might be too hard. Very delicious! The fried rice was prepared on the spot with fresh ingredients with eggs, and seasoned to perfection. The fried rice is worth the up charge. The steaks were all prepared and cooked as ordered. Our filet was very tender and succulent. The shrimp and scallops were also cooked perfect;Ly. The shrimp was not tough, dry or hard, but was very tender and tasty. The scallops were also cooked just right. Very tender, and seasoned just right. I'm a big teppanyaki fan, and have always enjoyed my visits here. I've sat at the teppanyaki tables, the bar, and a regular table. I've always enjoyed my food, and found their flan to be delicious. Last visit, we got the Kalbi and it was delicious (and something I was happy to share with my niece). I've always been happy with our service over the decade or so that I've been coming here. It feels like you're typical teppanyaki place, atmosphere wise, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that. read more

When I got the bill and asked about it, She points to footnotes at bottom of the 5page menu explaining extra charge for substitution. We had a late lunch early dinner, at approximately 3 PM. We had been told by different people that you could sit and watch them cook your food. This did didn't happen. The grills were closed. We were seated at a little table by the window. It took a few minutes to decide what we wanted because we were both disappointed about the grill. However, I chose the shrimp tempura bento box and my husband ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. He didn't have any complaints about his food, he said it was OK. There was disappointment that there was no lime to squeeze on it. Mine on the other hand, locked flavor. The shrimp was really nice and crunchy, but it was blah! There were four different vegetables, and they were OK, needed more flavoring. There was a dipping sauce, but it was not a dipping sauce I wanted. There were a couple pieces of California roll and the Wasabi and ginger, which I always love were there. They were they were tasty. I was disappointed because I really wanted more. The edamame finally showed up after we asked our waiter for it with out steak and shrimp, our meal was delayed and cold. Veggies were soggy and soaked in meat juices. This place is not worth it. I don't know why people are impressed by a pre-cooked meal getting warmed up in front of them. If you're not in front of the grill you get forgotten about. The cooking show is stupid. Also their house salad is absolutely atrocious, it's drenched in some knock off ranch that tastes like it has a bunch of sugar and water in it. The men's restroom had pee all over the floor next to both urinals and toilet. There was water all over the ground near the sink, it looked like a homeless man walked peed everywhere then took a bird bath in the sink. The tempura is more crumby than the kind of batter I usually expect. It's more like a panko crust. The servers are friendly and welcoming, but few of them seem to know how to pronounce the Japanese names of various fish. The ambience is spoiled as management seems intent to just coast along without much care for the minor details in your dining experience. Most of the dishes and plates are chipped or cracked, often in multiple places. We knew this going into the restaurant, but I would say the only down side is that if you choose to be seated in the area where they cook in front of you, you are sat down with other people. I had the most disgusting experience here with the staff and the service. I made reservations for 7pm for a group of 7, we arrive at 6:55 and didn't get seated until 8! after we were sat our server left completely and we didn't get any refills on drinks or any service whatsoever. Once I paid the bill, i decided not to leave a tip due to the horrible service. The server then came up to me and asked for a tip in cash since i didn't leave any on card. I explained why i didn't and that tips are a privilege and not a requirement. He then waited for us to leave and proceed to go up to each member of my party and ask for a cash tip, they all were in shock that he'd chase us outside and ask, one of the 7 decided he'd leave a tip since he had no cash, the server said he would just charge him 00.01 cents and allow him to leave a tip that way. just overall a disgusting experience and really ruined my night. apparently there was no manager present or anyone i could voice my complaint to so we just left. I had a caterpillar roll and a steak dinner bento (box). The service was overworked and rushed. And the ambiance is plain, nothing fancy or very Asian in the decor. The caterpillar's avocado antennae had fallen off, giving the appearance that nobody cared about my $18.50 roll. I didn't really care for it myself, but I was hungry. The Sapporo on tap didn't taste as good as I expected, so I added lemon. The teriyaki steak bento was weird. There was no teriyaki sauce used. The steak was fine, just sliced with American seasonings. The rice wasn't Japanese, even though we grow Japanese rice in California. The California roll was imitation crab with almost zero avocado. The tempura vegetables were gargantuan, and the tempura sauce was too sweet. But the pièce-de-résistance was the spring roll: crunchy and virtually empty except for tasteless mush and served with a Hawaiian sweet & sour, no, mostly just sweet sauce. Awful. It took a waiter a while to get to us for our order. We got the salmon and salmon skin rolls, their specialty golden roll and monkey roll, sashimis and butter fish. On Saturday, March 8, 2025 at approximately 1 PM My mother, who is a guide dog user was unlawfully, denied equal access in the following manner. Upon arrival at the restaurant, our large party, attempting to celebrate a family birthday, were told that we could not be seated. Due to the presence of the service animal, they refused to grant access to the hibachi portion of the restaurant claiming that the dogs hair would interfere with the fan system that runs the hibachi equipment, then stating that the health department regulations allowed them to deny granting access to this area for anyone with a service animal. Which is a bold faced lie in and of itself. Upon request to speak with management, the manager appeared, and in a frustratingly, patronizing condescending and completely unprofessional manner proceeded to explain that they would serve the rest of the group in the hibachi area, but that my mother with the service animal would have to be segregated to another part of the restaurant, and that they would in fact, serve her, but not with our group. One family member proceeded to explain patiently to this manager that she was breaking the law under the equal access component of the Americans with disabilities act regarding service animals and access to public locations. She continued to patronize and refused equal access to the handler and guide team. Not only is this highly illegal, it is appalling business practice. Ironically, my mother and several others who live in this area have never been denied access in such a manner to this location when accompanied by their service dogs. While the refusal to act appropriately even when being shown the law, the utter rudeness, immaturity, ignorance, and callousness of this so-called member of management is unacceptable. These dogs are incredibly highly trained, superbly behaved, and more well groomed than some of the people I've seen in this restaurant, and do not in any way shape or form pose any type of risk to any manner of equipment. This was a ridiculous and juvenile attempt for a very small person to try and act superior to an individual and did it in a way that is beyond disgusting. We have advised my mother to seek legal counsel against the franchisee and management. Whether she chooses to do that is neither here nor there, but I think this community needs to be aware that there are people who are so willfully attached to their ignorance. They would literally think it proper and appropriate to act in this manner. Kobe will not be getting any of my business ever again, and I'm hoping that goes for many others after reading this. And for those who are interested, there will be letters being sent to the corporate and regional parties that are involved in the ownership and management of this particular restaurant.
