My wife and I had dinner at Moscato on Feb. 23rd. We were impressed from the moment we walked thru the door. A wonderful dining experience. We arrived at 5:30pm and only 3 tables were occupied. By 7pm there wasn't a free table. The décor in the restaurant is very elegant and the perfect restaurant for a special night out. We ordered a spinach salad to share and it was excellent. My wife had a gluten free spiral zucchini dish with veggies in a red sauce which she said was delicious. I ordered the chicken piccata on a bed of risotto (not on the menu) and it was one of the finest chicken dishes that I have had in years. For dessert, we had the gelato with expresso which was refreshing without being heavy. The wine list is extensive and heavily weighted toward Italian wines but with CA, Spanish, African, Mexican, etc. choices also. Overall, a 4+ star restaurant; highly recommended and we will return. read more

Such an amazing place with outstanding food! The inside of the restaurant is super nice. It almost feels like you are inside someone's house doing some fine dinning. This place is an upper scale place and very inviting. There are several rooms with a few dinning tables in each one. All of the servers had black attire that included a button up collared shit and an apron. They all looked very professional. The server we had was the best! He was so knowledgeable about the food, the company and courteous. It turns out that the two owners are also the cooks! That so cool! They are very passionate about the food they make. There is a lot of love and care that goes into every dish that they make. You can park right up front to the restaurant. Even with a pretty full house we had no issues with parking. We have been here twice now. The first time was ok, decent flavors and good enough service that we came back again, though the prices are high for what they are offering when compared to other restaurants in the surrounding area. This time was a very poor showing all around. Dishes were lacking ingredients, and not minor ingredients but major ones that made or broke the dish. I am not taking about this restaurant doing a different spin on the dish but major ingredients listed on the menu never included in the dishes we ate. A handful of small muscle shells were in the zuppa de mer, found by an unusual crunch in a handful of spoonfuls -'this is unacceptable in a restaurant of the quality this one was portraying itself to be. While the flavor was good, there was no shrimp despite shrimp being included in other dishes we saw served. It was mostly vegetables with muscles that tasted old and some clams and a little sauce. The salad was missing several ingredients and drenched in balsamic vinegar (the other dressing component was missing). The shrimp scampi had little seasonings, while the shrimp was cooked well, the sauce was a thin sweet lemon sauce with no garlic or other seasonings. Service was awful and I rarely complain about service. It was difficult to get any waiter to come provide service. This is the type of restaurant where you are left alone to enjoy your meal without constant interruptions but 10-20 minutes would go by with no waiter in the dining room at all. No drink refills or would you like another - ever. We had to go into the kitchen to get a waiter after waiting a long time for one to appear. No spoon was provided for the soup (only a knife and fork at place settings), when one was asked for the waiter nodded and walked away not seen again for 20 minutes. Maybe he didn't hear above the loud talking from the table next to us where people had obviously been enjoying a lot of wine, but he did nod. When the waiter was told the salad was poorly prepared (missing ingredients and drenched in balsamic vinegar), he peered closely at the salad, confirmed a missing ingredient with surprise in his voice and said he was sorry. The salad should have been comped. I heard him apologizing to another table for something, maybe just his standard response as the kitchen and / or manager never handles any problems. While we enjoy fine dining often, we don't be going back here again. Very poor showing all around. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant, no more. Called ahead twice for lunch reservations and was told I didn't need them. Drove from Prescott only to be told by the officious young man at the door reservations were required in spite of the fact that there were only two tables seated in the dining room. I worked for nearly 50 years in restaurants. One of the first things you learn the hard way is don't shit where you eat. A word of advice before you go out of business, get a new manager. read more

For Italian cuisine there is one restaurant, hands down, that offers a wide variety of a very authentic, delicious food menu located in a very romantic setting and is reasonably priced with efficient, courteous staff and that's Moscato's. An incredible Italian meal in a lovely setting and attentive wait staff! We started with the freshly baked Focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. I got the Linguini Pesto Genovese and my husband had the Fettuccine al Crema with chicken. Both were phenomenal! The pesto was made from scratch with basil from the chef's garden and it tasted perfect and the shrimp were so tender! The Parmesan cream sauce was rich and decadent and my husband said the chicken was wonderful. Both the fettuccine and linguini were perfectly al dente. This is a must experience place! The best dinner I have had since moving to the area! My husband and I and a friend drove from Cottonwood to try something new, and boy are we glad we did! After being seated, we waited another 20 minutes, even though we were passed by waiters numerous times without recognition. For a "high class" place the service was pretty awful. Our group was not told of specials , not given menus until we had been seated about 10 minutes and it took at least 15 minutes before they were able to take our order even though we were clearly ready to order. We arrived for a late lunch early dinner at 420 and it took them 20 min to seat us in an almost empty restaurant. 10 min later another couple came to the door and they had called ahead and they had told them no need for a reservation before 5 but turned them away anyway. Disappointed that my husband and I were not able to use our gift certificate here that had expired. We're not from the area and the certificate expired during COVID. We were finally able to go and the manager/owner told us it would not be honored. It was $100. We notified our RE Agent who blessed us with the Gift certificate to let her know that her gift wasn't honored even though it had expired during COVID. read more

Easily one of the best meals I've ever had. Prices are incredibly reasonable considering the quality and attention to detail. Our server Paul was amazing and made sure we chose the perfect items. We got puttanesca and pollo sorentino. Both were incredible. Decor is on point, food is so good its hard to believe you're eating it, service is top notch and professional like you'd expect from a nyc fine dining establishment. Only it's about one third the price of a nyc restaurant at this level. Of all the places I've reviewed on yelp this is easily the best. I was surprised to find this upscale Italian restaurant in a little town like Camp Verde but the chefs know what they are doing. Love the fact that the past is homemade in house. I had the veggie past dish and hubby had the chicken Marsala along with the house offered focaccia bread. The bread is unique but quite good, my pasta was delectable, the hubby's Marsala however was simply ok. Interestingly enough he still enjoys my homemade the best, reason being the breeding itself is flavorful whereas this at Moscato was very plain The lack of five is for the Marsala as well as the portioning. We don't need something that serves excessive amounts of food but found the serving didn't last us more than two hours, then we were in need of another meal. What a surprise! We found this place driving by and decided to make a reservation for Saturday night, and I'm glad we did. We showed up and they were pretty busy. The interior was super charming and elegant but not stuffy. They had a gorgeous patio we weren't aware of when we made our reservation. We asked if we could sit outside, and it was looking like a no, but after a short wait they were able to accommodate us! The patio was perfect, greenery, trees with lights, comfy chairs... The appetizers were huge, and the food was amazing. Everything tastes homemade! Fermin was our server and he was outstanding. He had a great sense of humor, and was very attentive.
