Was told by the person who seemed like the only one there, as he gestured to a table, it would be 15 minutes before he would be back because we didn't have a reservation. No menus or offer of water. No apologies. Been in the buissnes for a long time....that really was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Will not be recommending your establishment, ever. Apparently walk-ins aren't welcome. Better off going to Dennys. Doesn't even deserve the one star! read more

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here. We were seated promptly with our reservation and the pace of the meal was relaxed and appropriate for fabulous homemade pasta/sauces. After seating, water was provided soon and glasses filled often. Delicious tender bread followed with oil & balsamic. Salad came soon. The only thing I would change is colder salad. The pasta entrees, individually cooked, are worth the wait! Flavorful Tiramisu left us happy. Atmosphere is lovely for fine dining. A restaurant in a building called Montezuma Inn? A risky proposition. But there was no revenge here - only the best Italian meal we've had since a trip to Italy three years ago. Our salads and pastas were simple, perfectly balanced, and delicious. Homemade pasta makes such a difference! The tiramisu... wish I'd had room for another serving. The service was friendly and gracious, and the sun-drenched patio on a cool December day was a lovely surprise. My only suggestion: more Italian wines by the glass (and maybe an Arizona wine or two). If you're comparing this restaurant to the entire area (Sedona, Prescott, Flagstaff) this deserves 5 stars. The exterior is very attractive as is the interior. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food is very high quality--meaning homemade pasta, high quality ingredients and a caring and talented cooking team. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that while the cuisine is great it isn't quite up to the level of a truly outstanding authentic Italian restaurant like Andreolis or Pomo. Still what a find and if you're on your way from Phoenix/Scottsdale to Sedona or Flagstaff this is a great stop. read more

Great spot. Been here 2 times now on my drives up north. First time I found it by a fluke when exploring the cute downtown area of CV. 2nd time I came, we went out of our way to come here. This has been one of my favorite restaurants to eat at since I've been coming up to the area for work. I wasn't sure what to expect from the exterior but the food and service have been excellent every time I've come (2 and a half so far, the half was a takeout order). The hardest thing for me has been branching out and trying more of the menu because the first thing I ordered was so delicious! The Shrimp Scampi Linguini is soooooo good! The flavor is amazing and everything is cooked perfectly. The Tiramisu was delicious and a great way to the end the meal. Four of us for lunch on Father's Day. All of our meals were delicious, but OMG the beef ribs were outstanding. The flavor was unbelievable and the meat fell off the bone with a fork. Very nice surprise in a small town. This isn't a Olive Garden! Authentic, fresh, homemade dishes. You have to expect to pay a little more for the quality. We were recently passing thru Camp Verde sightseeing with our friends who had moved down to Prescott a couple years ago. We drove through town, turned around and decided on Moscato! I am so pleased we did. The ambiance inside was warm and welcoming. We were acknowledged by the staff who seated us promptly. I was admiring the sunshine peaking through the window enhancing their nicely decorated rooms. The food was delicious. We took our time, no one rushing us. Very disappointing. We have eaten at Moscato many times, celebrated special occasions and brought out of town guests. The food and service were always excellent until now. To start the table was set but the wines glasses were dusty. The waiter though very nice did not know details about the fish special...was it whole or filleted, he had to check. The drink oder was taken and then he came back to announce they did not have limes for vodka and tonic. The Tonic was flat. Next, there were several items on the menu that were not available, 2 of which we planned to order. The food: the muscles and clams appetizer was without muscles, without taste except for salt in a tasteless broth and no spoon to take the clams. The mains were merely OK, cooked properly but uninteresting. We would have to think long and hard before we would go back again. read more

Came in at 1PM on a Sunday, which luckily they are now open on. We didn't expect them to only serve dinner on Sundays but it wasn't much of a surprise either. To start we tried there truffle fries, which came out quickly and tasted amazing, I tried the fettuccini fungata, a friend got the risotto fungi, another tried chicken masala for the first time, and my boyfriend went for the chicken alfredo. Each meal was served hot, clealy made with very fresh ingredients and you could easily tell that the pasta was hand made. Everything was delicious and we walked out of there absolutely stuffed. The place is huge, with a number of small rooms, some with only one table, perfect to create a private feel or celebrate a special event. Even the patio has ample seating, we came in June so that far from appealed to us, but by the time we left there were a few people seated outside. It came as a suprise that even so early on a Sunday afternoon, there were many other diners. Our waiter was also phenomenal, he was very attentive and more than willing to answer any questions we had. He even shared a number of suggestions about places and activities that might interest us the next time we came up. All in all, a wonderful place that I look forward to returning to. read more

We recently dined here for about the 4th time and it seems to get better each time despite the fact that it was excellent each time before. We took some friends who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They're also Italian-American and sophisticated diners. They loved Moscato as much as we do. We had tried to eat here twice without reservations and learned that for dinner, its esential to make reservations-even on a thursday night. This would lead you to believe its incredibly great food/service and value. I made a reservation and we were finally able to get in. We were seated at the time of our reservation which was an early dinner hour (before 6). we were not given menus, or water/or able to submit a beverage or appetiser order for 20 minutes. They need more menus. While we had all this time to observe and not drink, eat or order, I noticed the sticky surfaces of the tables were really gross. The wood tables in the main entry dining room have lost their finish/or it has been negatively impacted by the cleaner they use so resting your arms on the edge of the table feels awful on the skin, the crumbs or lint on the surface sticks when you try to dust it off because it is tacky. We finally got water and menus at 22 minutes after being seated and then we ordered our food at 33 minutes after being seated . About 8 minutes later we got bread, which was really good-maybe because we were starving. We had ordered appetizers, they arrived an hour after we were seated. We didn't recieve dinner for another 30 minutes. Finally at an hour and a half after our reservation time/seating time, we werre able to eat our meals and they were hot and fresh and tasted good. The portions were smaller. I know they were busy (full even at an early hour), I know they are soon to move next door and may be less interested in the surface finish of their tables. I realize having not drinking wine may make a waiter less interested in being attentive... Bottom line you must: make a reservation, not have other plans later, be fine taking an exceptionally long time to eat and converse, , not have a huge appetite unless you want to order several meals, drink wine to potentially garner favor with your waitor (my speculation), research you meals ahead of time to order withut a menu. I may go back, but I will really have different expectations and standards for this place than I do for other similar restaurants not in this tiny town. read more

As locals we love Moscato! It is great to have a world class restaurant in your own small town and not have to drive to Cottonwood or Snotsona - whoops I mean Sedona for a great meal. We love dining al fresco in the Spring and Fall when the weather is perfect on the patio under the mulberry trees. My only suggestion would be for more detailed training for some of the waitstaff regarding the art of truly fine dining. Otherwise - everyone is always friendly and food is really special! read more

I order the pork shank and was told that it would be about twenty five minutes before our food would be served. An hour and forty minutes later it was. We stumbled upon Moscato in 2018 while staying in Camp Verde for a few days. Camp Verde is a bit off the beaten track, its biggest virtue being that its close enough to Sedona the get there quickly but not close enough one gets charged Sedona lodging rates. We looked for Italian restaurants and decided to give Moscato's a try after seeing the Picata on their menu. Quite simply we were blown away after eating at Moscato's in 2018. In 2019, when planning our Arizona trip, Moscato was a 'must eat at' destination. Again, it was a joy to spend our evening there. The 'Sticky Belly' appetizer special was delicious. We ordered a lovely Amarone, expertly decanted by our wonderful server Paul. We had a wonderful dining experience (we sat outside). You can go to more expensive places, easily pay lots more for lesser experiences but - at least to my mind - Moscato's is a place where food, is celebrated by all: the Chefs, the Servers and the customers. It have eaten here more than a half of a dozen times... if I lived in the area, I would eat there several times a week. This is a 5 star restaurant in a cool old building (They are building a new restaurant directly next door.) The service is always outstanding and friendly from the talented Chef, super professional and knowledgeable waiters to the hardest working young busboy with blonde hair. Now to the food - it is beyond awesome and the shanks, short ribs and the Bolognese sauce are all slow cooked cooked for two days! They never miss a beat. Dessert you ask? I have never enjoyed a Tiramisu more in my life, and I have had dozens along the way. I am sure they have other desserts equally as good, but I am stuck on the Tiramisu! I like the restaurant so much, I chose it for my birthday today. If you are looking for a 1 hour and 15 minute getaway from Phoenix, you cannot go wrong with Moscatos!!!! read more

We were a party of seven and the service was terrible. People around our table came in after us and left before us. The food was really good though. Took us 90 minutes to finally get our main courses. Our server was good, but there was no team work with the staff. He brought our meals out two at a time rather than having his colleagues assist. Our drinks came the same way rather than a tray of seven drinks he brought two drinks at a time. Not very efficient. We spent over $500 for alcohol, wine, appetizers, dinners and our dessert. They don't deserve even 1 star. BIKERS NOT WELCOME. My companion and I are bikers. We arrived about 6:10 Saturday night without a reservation. People ahead of us late for their reservation but seated without a problem. We noticed there were 3 other parties on their reservation book while we were waiting. Hostess informed us that if we didn't have a reservation we couldn't be seated but we could make a reservation for 2 hours later. My companion counted 8 empty tables! 3 inside and 5 outside. This fancy place clearly did not think biker money spent the same as the "proper" people that were there. Went to Nic's in Cottonwood. We were welcomed with open arms and had a fantastic dinner. SKIP Moscato and head a few miles down the road to Nic's on Historic 89A in fun downtown Cottonwood instead. It was a great experience. read more

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. I was so disappointed this time with everything, but the slow service was especially frustrating. We arrived at about 6:00PM and were immediately seated without a reservation. The restaurant was pretty crowded as usual, but it took about 20 minutes for a waiter to show up and even say hello and take our drink orders. We waited another 15 or 20 minutes for our drinks and ordered our appetizers and main course. Then we waited, and waited. After about 30 minutes we got our beef carpaccio and bruscetta. After finishing, the waiter took our plates and forks, and then the waiting began again. Another 30 minutes or so for the main courses. The waiter just dropped off the plates and left us without anything to eat with. My wife waved him down and asked for forks. He brought one! We sent him back for the other two for myself and my daughter. The meal tasted ok, but the sauce in my Vongole was undercooked and the garlic was raw. But the worse part of my main course was the hair in my food. After eating he main course, the waiting started again and finally the waiter showed up with the desert menus around 8:00 PM, but by then we were just tired of waiting so we just passed and asked for the check. All and all very disappointed. But to make things worse, all three of us had stomach problems and diarehea later that night and early in the morning. So sad to see this once epic restaurant get so awful so fast. read more

Ordered for takeout and it was mediocre at best. We ordered the bolognese and it was $20 for some noodles and a tiny bit of sauce. If you're gonna charge that much, I would think you'd have some local ingredients and homemade noodles in there that makes it worth that much. Glorified spaghetti. When I asked about the mushroom fettuccine, they didn't know what mushrooms were in it. When they found it, they said they were the ones you buy from the grocery store, which did not sound appealing at all. Just overpriced for some bland food. read more
