My wife likes Mosher's more than I do, but they've got one of the most solid menus in downtown Long Beach. Their pancakes are amazing, fluffier than most of their breakfast competitors. The matzo ball is also spectacular. True to traditional deli form, they've got a great patty melt. At least for me, it's rare to find a place where I'd consider ordering more than a handful of items, but Mosher's does pretty well with breakfast, burgers, soups, salads, and sandwiches. Giving this place a 2nd chance which is a rare thing for me. First time here I ordered to go & waited for my meal for over 30 minutes while people before me had their ready to go. My lunch break was over by the time I ate. Visit #2, waited 20 mins clearly not a place to go if you have a short lunch break, just order by phone. However, the grilled chicken sandwitch was so tasty. I don't eat beef, but it tasted like I was eating a burger; either that or it was cooked next to a burger patty, eww. I've stopped by a couple times when visiting someone who lives next door. I'm not sure where you'd park if you came just for them. Maybe that's why both times the place was empty. I'd give them 5 stars for the service. Both times prompt friendly service. I'd give 2-3 stars for the food. The first time I ordered a dessert - cheesecake. I usually order from Mosher's online. Love that they have this service through gimmegrub.com. When ordering online, you also get a 10% discount. Another plus for online orders is that you have the option to pay with credit/debit or cash on delivery. How convenient is that!?!?! I've made several orders online, but today I had to actually walk there from my work place... I hate walking in heels. All this because the online menu was outdated. I love open face sandwiches, and they no longer serve those. :( My last actual visit there, I was craving for ceviche, but they didn't offer that. Good size and quality of the meat in the ham and cheese sandwich. The roll was pretty good too. There is a bizarre, disgusting looking substance that sort of looks like pasta salad that comes in the to-go container. If the staff told me what the substance was and/or the ingredients, maybe it wouldn't have been as grotesque looking. So I ordered online for delivery, a reuben sandwich with a side and a basket of fries. The food was delivered but when I opened it up it was the absolute WRONG SANDWICH! They had given me a pastrami sub instead. So I called thinking I could get this rectified but the lady starts talking about how there's no delivery! After a few minutes of that nonsense she acted like she finally understood so when I asked her about the situation she said, and I quote "we didn't have corned beef so we gave you pastrami." WTF?!!!! So instead of calling me to tell me you didn't have what I wanted and did I want something else or would I like to cancel the order, they intentionally made me the wrong thing in hopes that I wouldn't complain so they can keep the money?!!! This place is amazing. It's rare when my family of 6 all have so many good things to say about one restaurant. All of my kids raved about their food, as did my husband and I. I had to stop here because it was MLK day and everything else was closed. I had no choice because I was about to have an accident due to a medical condition. The only way the cashier agreed to let me use the bathroom was because I said I'm going to poop right here on the floor and have no choice. I ended up ordering a banana and two cokes. The banana I got was the "freshest" banana which looked like it was ready to be banana bread but had no other choice. The coke didn't even have any fizz so they must not even keep an eye on expiration dates. The lady was rude even when I was getting something but she has to take into consideration that some people do have medical conditions and I don't need a lecture about how I should go to the bathroom earlier rather than wait until the last minute and next time she won't let me use the restroom. There won't be a next time for sure because if they don't even have decent bananas I would hate to see what they're putting in a sandwich. read more

This is the third time we order food from Mosher's deli this week. Every time the food has been fresh and delicious and every one of our special requests have been fulfilled correctly. We recommend their Philly cheesesteak sandwich (very tasty and awesome bread), the carnitas sandwich and their coleslaw. You won't be disappointed! I found this hidden gem a while back and finally was able to come back. They have a wide array on the menu but seems they have a knack for sandwiches. I tried the turkey burger with a side of fruit as a healthy choice, I have to say the Turkey burger was delicious, quite flavorful. The bun was big but it was tasty too, I loved it. Horrible service and FOOD SAFETY / HEALTH CODE VIOLATION! The girl up front had a horrible attitude and was incredible dismissive. She failed to offer beverages or let us know where the water is placed. I ordered the hash and eggs with a cinnamon roll. She didn't even offer to heat the cinnamon roll, which was stale. It was tossed to me in a styrofoam container, we were eating there. I was going to provide a decent review on the food, until I saw her handling food in the kitchen after she got done licking her fingers! This was incredibly disgusting! I don't want my food handled by someone after they just got done licking their fingers. Unsanitary and great way to spread disease and infection. I highly recommend avoiding this place. In addition to this, while ordering I asked if they have a vegetarian option for my girlfriend who was with me. The girl just said no! Didn't ask or offer to just remove the bacon from a dish. She didn't offer a substitute or any kind of service that could be helpful. In addition to damaging the customer's experience, she's also costing the business money by not upselling or increasing the ticket charge. No beverages were offered, so none were ordered. Not to mention a complete meal not being ordered. On the off chance the restaurant managers actually take the time to read this, I was here on Saturday June 1st at 3:00. Great selection of sandwiches, breakfast, fresh juices and smoothies. The Beetle Juice is so nice; similar to a Vampiro, but sweeter. The Cilantro Chicken Salad was spot on, and my boyfriend who got the Fried Chicken Sandwich said he should have gotten the salad after sharing mine. We sat in the courtyard and listened to the birds and fountain for a while. The restaurant is dog friendly, which was so nice to see. Crucial for Camden Harbor View residents, but pretty solid in its own right for breakfast items. Bacon breakfast sandwich is delicious, pancake and eggs are pretty good too. Their vanilla lattes are like drinking a milkshake . Main downside (not their fault) is that the exterior smells like urine from all the dogs using the nearby grass for their biz. Stopped here for breakfast. Had the corned beef and eggs. It was amazing. Service was fast and friendly.

I was happy to find a deli nearby with reasonable prices when I moved to Long Beach. Now the prices have risen tremendously. I ordered basal tomato soup and a grilled cheddar cheese sandwich and it cost $18. I also ordered the breakfast special last week and it is now $7. I agree with the previous review, Mosher's has terrible customer service. I have been there twice and the cashier (who also appears to be the owner as far as I can tell) should not be interfacing with humans. He personally, gets negative stars in the customer service department. Extremely unfriendly, like you are inconveniencing him to be giving him your business. Not cool. But they do get 3 stars for their delicious pastrami sandwich and coleslaw. The pastrami is thinly sliced and not too fatty. I order mine on a french roll because I don't like rye bread. My friend turned me on to topping the sandwich with the coleslaw they serve with it. It's superb! The coleslaw is a little sweet, just how I like it. With the pastrami and pickles and mustard it's de-lish! Moshers seems very disorganized. Though they have signs saying where you should order, everything seems very disorderly. They also have their cups sitting right next to the self serve soda machine so anyone could help themselves. Would it be that difficult to keep them behind the counter and hand them out with each order like every other fast food restaurant in America. Moshers has a good idea going on here but needs some serious help in the management department. read more
