The Latch Inn - The Latch Inn Exterior

I wanted to like this place but booking through Orbitz led to a disastrous experience. When you…read morecheck into a hotel, you want it to be smooth and easy, but this was quite the opposite. First, the parking and registration is not so easy. If you're carrying luggage, be prepared to wheel it down a windy path toward a the reception door. When we were asked for a travel voucher, to which we presented the Orbitz reservation number; however this was not reflected in any reservation for The Latch Inn. They were also booked with no availability, so we had to find other lodging accommodations. We called to ask for an earlier check in since the Orbitz reservation indicated check in only from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. But at 3:15pm there was no answer at The Latch Inn, so we left a message. At 6:10pm a representative from The Latch Inn called us to ask what the message was because she could not find our reservation. Bad experience with Orbitz and with this situation. I am open to management response.

The Latch Inn has a great ambiance ... but, needs a lot of TLC, a good scrubbing in the corners,…read morecarpets washed (better yet, replaced with dark carpets), paint stripping and a clean top-coat of paint. There were two gentlemen working there - not sure if they were brothers or not, but they were overwhelmed with the breakfast service. While the food was very good, the service was painfully slow - plan for in excess of one hour for breakfast, even if there are only 3-4 other tables. When I think of an Inn, I anticipate a caretaker with a lot of knowledge of the area. The two men working had a huge language barrier thus we stuck with the basic communication. And yes, you will hear your immediate neighbors very clearly.

David (who has checked us in each time) is the best! Their motel rooms are quite comfortable, rustically stylish, and come with a Nespresso coffee maker (and plenty of pods), mini-fridge, a smart TV, and triple-sheeted duvets. The breakfast pastries and dinner offerings at the on-site restaurant are delightful too. I recommend making resos far in advance since they book up quickly for summer weekends. Leave the rat race behind for a weekend or a week--or more--and settle in for a relaxing stay.

A long soak and rejuvenation in a private hot tub, surrounded by greenery and chirping of dozens of birds. One of our night while walking, a fawn stumbled across my path and said hi. Wow! Amazing! The airstream was very comfortable. Nice queen bed. Own shower and bathroom. Hot water. Wifi. Cable. Amazon firebox. Kitchen with microwave and gas stove. Cutlery, pots and pans. Outside you have your own fire pit, 2 person hot tub whirling away and just waiting for you. A bbq set and lawn chairs and a huge umbrella to shade you. A huge hammock for those afternoon book readings. i mean, What more can you ask for? Air-streaming doesn't get any better than this! And the best part...the staff are so nice and accommodating. They'll give a quick orientation on what to do etc and if you need anything, they are a txt msg away. Yet, you are surrounded by nature and a lush flora. Around the property there are countless trails and everything is within a 5-10-15 min drive. There are cafes close by, farms, a bc liquor store, bookstore, restaurants, etc. everything is opening up now. Please go and support local and your backyard. Super easy to book and confirm. Also easy to cancel If ever. But dont. Its worth it. Thank you Dave for all your help! God Bless the Queen! ;) Cheers! happy camping!

But here I am, still Yelping because I think I'm helping, haha. Yelp, the original business influencer site... let's hope Instagram & TikTok kids don't start making videos of all the businesses on here, they tend to ruin beautiful places. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Snug Harbor Resort while visiting Friday Harbor…read more We reserved a one-bedroom waterfront cabin seamlessly online. Our total cost was $607.19. Check-in was done at the lobby. At the lobby one will also find a store and a coffee shop. Complimentary movies and games can also be checked out at the lobby to enjoy back at your lodging. The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. Lower-level parking is limited and was completely full in the evenings. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot every time we returned from playing. Wheel barrel type carts located at the gate make transporting luggage effortless to rooms. Adirondack chairs are scattered about the edge of the property to enjoy sipping a beverage, reading or admiring the view. A fire-pit, community BBQ, picnic area and kids play area help pass the time while on-site. The paly area is at the lobby end for those who do not wish to have quarters near noise. The cabin we were given was number 10, a handicap unit. The very first cabin upon entrance and the furthest from the lobby and play area. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. Snug Harbor provided us the peace that we were seeking at the time. My one suggestion would be to offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby to establish a more personal touch.

That's what COVID and inflation are doing to traveling. And people not willing to work anymore. It's a shame. So you can get cheap flights on Lynx Air but then the cost of car rental (gas) and hotels makes traveling very expensive now. You really need to have friends in places you want to travel. Home sharing may be the way for future travel.

And when I say excellent price I mean about $100 a night, so yeah pretty great for 4 people. Plus there was a complimentary breakfast and free wifi, all included! There was supposed to be a free shuttle from the port where we came in to the hotel, however when we called to confirm that they apologized saying the shuttle runs to the airport instead of the port at the time we needed it. So what did they do? They called a cab for us, and PAID OUR CAB FAIRE. Now that's service. Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly. In our room, the phone didn't work because of an old cable, and when we told the desk they switched it out for us immediately, no problem. Their continental breakfast was surprisingly varied, although don't expect a Hilton line up. It was filling and plenty tasty. The room was clean and pleasant, with a very nice TV with a huge channel selection and like I said, FREE no-strings-attached WIFI. Finally, after leaving the hotel, a concierge chased us all the way to the port attempting to return a book that he thought we had left behind. I have never received such excellent service, well anywhere really, before this. I recommend this hotel 100%, 10/10 would stay at again. The town it's in is quaint and very pretty too. The pub next door however? Definitely pass on that.
