In my haste to catch my flight--I had to drive all the way back to Medford, Oregon--I accidentally left a couple of items behind. Christine and Ari went above and beyond to make sure my belongings were mailed back to me. I really appreciated the care and effort they put into helping me. This is a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests, and if I'm ever back in the Mount Shasta area, I will absolutely stay here again. It is a little pricier than some of the other hotels in the area, but it's worth it for the cleanliness, comfort, quiet rooms, and excellent service. The location is also really convenient. After helping me to calm down we worked it through and figured out that my daughter-in-law had actually booked me under her name that's why we cannot find the reservation. The hotel room itself, was clean and comfortable. I will say the rooms are not particularly large. I do have a walker and was not able to enter into the restroom with my walker which made it difficult, nor was there a lot of room between the bed and the microwave / fridge for my walker but that was at least doable. However both the owner and his wife were very helpful and very kind! The wife and I could not figure out how to get the TV on, and one quick call to the husband and it was up and running. Furthermore what impress me the most, was after checking out and getting my taxi to the Greyhound station, the wife came running up to me. She had left the hotel and followed me to the Greyhound station, explaining that I had left my medication in the fridge along with my phone cord. She went above and beyond and I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody.

First let me say that people are very nice to talk to. Having said that I will also say, there is a…read moreton of maintenance needed here. Not just paint and fixing up. But gutters need to be cleared and the property needs to be cleaned up. It is almost in ramshackle condition. The rooms are run down and there is dirt and dust all over. We planned a trip and most of it was nice. Even when we stopped at an old hotspring property in eastern Oregon the people we're working really hard to get it to nice condition. Here, people seem like they're waiting for a miracle. There's a 15 year old boy living here his parents manage the place and there is a ton of leaves and gutters very close to the ground full of leaves. I would make my kid contribute if I was managing this place. So beyond the disrepair and dirt. There's items left like toothpaste from previous people. If I was not so tired from driving and traveling I would demand my money back and keep going. Perplexity Ai told about this place a week ago and then I called to ask about the "aviary" that was advertised that was said to be extensive and really cool. They said it was here. It was a surprise for our little one. I called today to make sure everything was in order on my way down and they still said the aviary was here. The reason we chose the place. We get here and there is no aviary. And the birds were let loose because the fire a couple of years back. Ok that is fine but tell me there's an aviary and birds her two times. Again the people are nice but not cut out to manage a motel. They don't have the energy to do it. Even with a 15 year old in his prime that could help. The place is a dump and one step from being a tear down or sold to someone that has the energy to do something with it. Cash price was cheap for California but still. Recently (june 2026) we tried Monte Bianco again. The place is even more rundown. The room smelled a little musty and under the carpet, the floor seemed soft like there might be rot. The mattress was comfortable, but sheets are polyester and tangled my hair. The room was uncomfortably hot on a warm night. Really these rooms are too small for a queen bed. There's only one uncomfortable chair, no table. There's a useless chest of drawers that's too wide for the space and who's going to unpack their suitcase for one or two nights? I took photos of the peelling paint job on the door's exterior, and the broken bedside lamp. The dome light on the ceiling - right over the bed - was painfully bright and since the bedside lamp didn't work the first night, we were stuck using that. In the bathroom, there were not enough hooks to hang up things like towels, a bathrobe, or a toiletry bag. The shower has plenty of water, but the pressure blasting out of the spigot is really harsh. They would benefit from adding some kind of shutoff or flow adjustment valve, both in terms of guest comfort and water usage in a drought-prone area. The "Garden" is a patch of weeds. I do not mean wildflowers. I mean weeds growing up through gravel, some sad chairs, an ashtray, and a cornhole setup. The parking lot is also weedy. Parking is, as other guests have mentioned, odd. I wouldn't want to park there in the snow because of the way the stairs are set up as a tripping hazard, with the rooms opening out directly into the weather with no overhang. As I've mentioned in a prior review elsewhere, this place might feel like a luxury for someone's who's been hiking the PCT, but it was not comfortable or particularly worth the money despite the budget pricing. I think the owners should REALLY talk to a consultant or designer about laying out the rooms for better efficiency and guest comfort.

Before you book here then get all sad later because it wasn't what you are usually accustomed to, read a few reviews and decide if this is your cup of tea. When I searched up a place to lay my head earlier this week I wanted to stay in the sweet new place downtown with the clean pretty people and the baked goods and coffee downstairs. But I was only going to be in the room to sleep and I was alone and even though I love me some pretty people watching I decided to sleep here instead and have coffee and baked goods over that other way in the morning. Because there are no baked goods at Mt. Bianco. There isn't much of any amenity, actually, other than the staples - an abundance of fluffy towels, a comfortable bed and comfortable pillows (why so often the latter is overlooked places I have zero idea - but pillows are clearly important here), a TV that generally works but it's small, an AC unit I didn't try, less than a 10 minute slow walk downtown for vittles and wildlife. Price point is half what Best Western wanted and a fraction what the new clean trendy place downtown was looking for (truth be told, I will stay there one day when I'm in the company of the one that grooves on the abundant amenities). This place works. It's simple. The lockbox key and texts to instruct/affirm are straightforward. It's old school and sometimes when the time is right old school is precisely what gets it done.

The Mt Shasta Police Are conducting surveillance on the building and looking for anyone who has stayed there to file a theft complaint if you have been ripped off there. The hotel claims they have a contactless check in and check out system which provides a door code via text messaging when in fact they don't have lobby or staff because the police shut them down. The comforter on the bed was urine stained with dirt grime and holes but covered up by a duvet top sheet to hide the filth. The bathroom ceiling has black mold, shower door broken and wall plugs so loose chargers won't stay plugged in. The Mt Shasta Police took a theft complaint from me after the manager refused to refund over $700 they took from me through a Trip Advisor booking. Do not stay here, call the Mt Shasta Police if you did!

The room was spotless, and the air conditioning worked great, which made for a comfortable night's sleep. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the manager went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Excellent customer service like that makes a lasting impression. The only downside was that a guest in the room next to us woke us from a sound sleep around 1:00 a.m. and was quite noisy for a while. We don't hold the motel responsible for that, especially since we never called the front desk to let them know there was a problem. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would gladly stay here again. The outstanding staff, clean rooms, and comfortable accommodations made it a great value.
