At first I thought that this was a Greek restaurant, but soon I discovered that they don't use dairy like Greek food does because it is Middle Eastern food where tahini is used mostly instead of yogurt. Awesome place for work lunch! Located near business offices off of Rainbow and sunset road. Came here twice with my co- worker for lunch break! Finally came in to try their falafel lunch special. It did not disappoint. The pita was hot and fresh filled with falafel, hummus, tahini, some spicy sauce, and a chopped salad that tasted mostly like tomatoes and cucumbers. The falafel on its own was crispy and tender inside with a lot of flavor. This special came with fries and a drink making it difficult to be able to finish everything. Very generous lunch offer. I wanted to try Mother Falafel because of all the rave reviews on here. Unfortunately I think I came on an off day. There was only one poor worker who was so overwhelmed. There was a long line of customers and she was the only one there doing everything. I almost left but decided to wait, but 2 people did leave the line because the wait was just too long and the one lone worker looked kind of frazzled and came off somewhat rude at times as a result. That said, I ordered a shawarma pita and falafel pita, and they were both hastily made. I don't think they were as filled as they could've been, and the taste was nothing too crazy. I think they would've been much better if they were better staffed. I also didn't like that there's an extra charge if you use a credit card. Soda machine was out of order . Sauces are not unlimited. While it wasn't bad, I think I'd prefer going to other nearby restaurants with similar fare. read more

We had a really poor experience here. Arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night with some friends. A few tables were full but it wasn't busy. My wife and I placed our order with the woman behind the counter, which was two falafel wraps and an order of fries. Our friends ordered the same thing. The woman told our friends (but not us) that it was going to take 17 minutes to get our food with no explanation which was bizarre considering it wasn't busy at all. Their POS was broken (which they did not tell us, we figured it out ourselves) so we had to wait to pay, and even after we waited for ten minutes and finally paid, we still had to wait almost ten more minutes for our food to come out. Mind you there were four people working behind the counter. When our food came, we were immediately disappointed. They forgot an order of fries, so we had to wait once again. Not only were the wraps small-ish, they were made terribly. The falafel "wrap" was shaped more like a cube than anything. The ingredients were distributed unevenly, to the point where some bites would be all cabbage or all carrot with nothing else. The wrap was folded over so many times it was falling apart and it became impossible to eat. The tahini sauce was a bit bland, too. Staff need to be trained. It's clear they do not know how to properly make the food they serve. We won't be returning. read more

The dice chose this adventure for my brother and I--Never been here before... First, they have music going that is a bit loud so when you talk to the guy at the counter, Ben, he is soft spoken so you are struggling to hear him... Inside is a busy atmosphere with good music playing. They have limited seating for a table and high top. Most orders are for takeouts. The wall writings are interesting, many customers wrote nice compliments, and some were written in Hebrew like "Great Falafel!" It's amazing to see, they have a loyal following. Menu includes vegan options for falafel, and a selection of shawarma, signature plates, hummus, schnitzel, and kabob. Ordering process is quick and easy, they operate as a counter service, and food is made fast with minimal wait. The Mother Falafel signature plate ($19.99) is very delicious! It has a generous serving of thinly sliced chicken shawarma, great spice, and so good with tahini and amba sauce, very flavorful! It also comes with three crispy falafels, rice, hummus, pickles, red cabbage, roasted eggplant, a refreshing Israeli salad of tomatoes, cucumber, and onions, French fries, and tahinI, all accompanied with a fluffy baked pita. Walking in the staff made it feel as if it was an inconvenience (it was around 11am) with one staff blankly staring at us from a table without a word and the other just briskly asking what we wanted without having time to look things over. The place itself was clean and organized with plenty of indoor seating. We ended up getting 'The Mother F..." that came with shawarma, 3 falafels, rice, fries, hummus, and a pita. Overall the plate didn't have much of a flavor from the shawarma down to the rice. The one thing we did like was the pita, which a lot of other reviewers noted was good and 'freshly made' but as we were waiting for the food to be made, a close customer had bought a few bags of the pitas which were being pulled out of pre-packed bags, which isn't a big deal to us if it was, just wanted others to note that. The falafel plates my husband and I ordered was just OK and can't compare to the falafel plate at Parsley Mediterranean which costs $3 less. Both eateries offer a generous and tasty 8 falafels to a place but the lettuce salad at Mother Falafel looked old, the leaves on the lettuce was brown and not very tasty. The best thing was the pita bread, which is made fresh on the premises and was delicious. I've been a loyal customer here nearly 3 years. I've always enjoyed their falafel bowls and shawarma bowls until my most recent experience, which was deeply upsetting. When I went in yesterday to order my usual falafel bowl, I wasn't greeted. Instead, the man working there (I'm not sure if he's the owner or an employee he has reddish orange hair) immediately and incorrectly accused me of being associated with a friend--whom he assumed was Jewish--who allegedly stole another customer's phone two weeks prior. He said to me, "You have a Jewish friend you always come in here with, and he stole my customer's phone." I was shocked and confused. I don't even have a Jewish male friend, and I hadn't been in the restaurant for over a month. I calmly told him he had the wrong person, but he didn't apologize. He just continued making my food as though nothing happened. This experience left me feeling humiliated, profiled, and incredibly uncomfortable. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially not someone who has supported a business for years. Until this situation is addressed and an apology is made, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others!!! read more

They were burnt on the outside and totally mushy on the inside.. it's now been 6 hours since i ate lunch there and honestly has to rush home and take a gulp of Milk of Magnesia because of the terrible heart burn i had all afternoon. The lentil soup tasted like mud.. no flavor whatsoever. I asked for a piece of lemon so I can add some flavor to it but the manager (or owner) said they do not have lemons... "in a mediterranean restaurant".. go figure!! Not sure who these people are that wrote those review?? Been to mother falafel so many times and it's always good! Food is really delicious, I get the shawarma plate wit extra meat it's around 20 bucks but it can feed two easily possibly even 3! Everything tastes fresh and they're open 24 hours which it makes super easy to go there whenever. While I know ordering on Postmates the prices are usually jacked up a bit they charge an additional 6 dollars for a Shwarma Pita. 14.99 on their menu 20.99 on Postmates is bordering on the criminal for an underwhelming underseasoned Shwarma. My wife just wanted kebabs. 3 kebabs for $10. Once again underseasoned and boring. 3 kebabs didn't even have enough beef to make a decent burger. We also ordered a Shwarma plate which was also underseasoned. Apparently someone forgot where the salt was. I tried this place back when they first opened and thought they were really good but opinions change. Seems like they just stopped trying. FOOD while staying at Hilton World Resorts we opted for Door Dash to save on taking an Uber or taxi. We ordered the falafel schawarma plate and laffa schawarma. The meat proportions aren't huge like we've been to in California, but the meat tastes good and isn't over seasoned. The falafels were my favorite. The side salads were done well and arranged on the plate appropriately. SERVICE I can't say much because I wasn't there in person but we didn't get any utensils or napkins in the to go bag. We are used to tahini being standard sauces but it wasn't in the bag. I'm not sure if it's their policy we have to ask for these things on the order though. Luckily I had saved utensils from another eating out experience. AMBIANCE I can't say anything about because we didn't go in person OVERALL I would eat here again!
