While being back in Tulsa visiting family on the 100 yr anniversary of route 66 we decided to visit Mother Road Market. Super eclectic place all kinds of amazing food. I chose to eat at Chicken and the Wolf bc they have chicken strips and I'm a chicken strip fanatic...lol they were so delicious stop there if you like chicken strips. All in all its a great place to stop to take take in mid America and the wonderful people of Tulsa. There is fantastic diversity of food for all from Middle East to Midwest America. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch with colleagues. We went right at 11 AM and were able to park close and did not have to wait in line at any of the spots. When we left, it was packed! I hadn't been in a while and a lot of the vendors have changed. There's more Kitchen 66 pop ups throughout. That's a good thing but I miss some of the other businesses. I also hate that they don't have Stubborn sodas anymore. At least Big Dipper is still there. read more

When I heard this fun food mall is having a Wednesday special where every vendor is encouraged to offer a $5 item, I just had to check it out. There was a larger crowd than usual due to school being out. It was difficult to walk around and see what the $5 items were, so my curiosity didn't get satisfied. We will go back another Wednesday. We did get the $5 item at Howdy Burger. It was an Oklahoma burger, which has onion cooked into the hamburger patty. The meat tasted good, but it was just the meat, mustard, pickle, and bun. I prefer the lettuce. tomato, and onion that's on the regular Howdy Burger. A single patty Howdy Burger is $5.50 Next time I'm going to spend that extra 50 cents and get the real deal. What I like most about Howdy Burger is the quality of their bread. Bread has gotten expensive and some burger places have started using cheap buns. Howdy Burger uses quality buns and that makes a world of difference. read more

I wish my city had something like Mother Road Market. While all the vendors offering looked good, the one that I was most excited about was the Afrikan Delights. Everything is self serve, so go order either using the kiosk or at the cashier, grab your order when ready, get a table and enjoy. Plenty of seating inside, but you can take your food to the covered patio outdoor seating. The food from Afrikan Delights hit the spots, the rice and the spaghetti was awesome. The gumbo was very salty unfortunately, the fried catfish was bit too fishy. Overall, love the concept and the offering. Will need to try other vendors when we visit again. Limited parking in the front, more parking in the back and a block over. read more

MRM is a food hall that's been up & running since 2018. What I enjoy about the place most overall is that everything is local. You're not going to walk in & see at least one commercial franchise that's more known across the nation. What plays a part into local being here is a program that gives businesses a chance to be a resident business at the food hall (for example: Le Roux's Kitchen). For the entire time I've been coming to MRM, I can't believe I never left a review (I thought I did a while back). I've tried all of the spots & for those who've never been + plan on coming, the options are wide for whatever mood you're in. Cajun food, burgers (Howdy Burger), Ice cream (Big Dipper), Rice bowls (Bodhi's), etc... It'll make you come back for more + to try every spot available. Another thing I enjoy about MRM is the Kitchen Takeover. The takeover is in place to highlight a business that's up & coming. One of the spots I remember off top that came from the takeover (& ended up having their own location) was King's Way Wings. I tried their food while I was in the store displaying + selling art. Their whole staff was nice. 7 years later, MRM is still running strong & is something I see being a staple. There are surrounding businesses that have popped up throughout the area to bring more attention (bbq, more ice cream & shopping). If there's someone who asks for what's there to eat & don't have a taste particularly in mind, I usually send them to MRM so they can have plenty to choose from. read more

I will probably update this review in a couple of weeks. We'd been curious about their $5 Wednesday deals and went today. We didn't realize that all the schools in Tulsa are out for a fall break. Must have been a couple of thousand kids there from grade school through high school ages. Place was packed and some of the vendors were low on inventory or sold out. We finally got the Wednesday special at Howdy Burger. The Oklahoma burger with fried onions. We split a generous order of fries. It was a decent burger but the "special" was a discount of less than a dollar. We'll give it another shot soon when schools back in session. read more

The ambiance here was great for families. I thought there would be more to do than just mini golf that you pay for. Some cornhole boards were nearby put away and no bags were in sight. As far as food, the restaurant with best reviews was closed. We ended up at chicken and the wolf. The fries were great. I love that this place provides one spot to try so much local food. It's a great option if you want to spend a bit of time hanging out with some friends or family and you don't all agree on where to eat. It can be loud and crowded, a bit expensive, and parking is not great. The great food and fun atmosphere is worth the trip every once in a while, though. I tried Bodhi's Bowl this time and loved it. I also had a scoop from Big Dipper Creamery which is always fantastic. I tried a bite of pizza from Zasa's and it was great. It's a huge slice for around $6, which is probably the best deal you'll find in the food court. All the vendors I encountered were very friendly and helpful. I don't think Oklahoma, or anywhere, needs a food mall. But since when does anyone listen to me? But, if we must have a food mall - this is a glorious one. The vendors range from vegan eats to greasy meat-heavy dishes. Standard American foods to international flavors. Most people seem really friendly and helpful. It's a cool, hip vibe that Tulsa's pushing these days. I've visited once and I'd like my pants to fit so I won't be back because wow - it was glorious. I love Mother Road Market! Tulsa is so lucky to have such a great food hall. I haven't been in probably 2 years, and I enjoyed a great lunch today. It was busy and parking is tough, but they have an overflow parking lot now that helps a ton. They also have new shops next door and a visitor center! It was fun looking at everything new. I tried the Korean fried chicken at the Sobahn 82 spot, and I got a piece of fish and Mac n cheese from the Leroux's kitchen. Both were fabulous. I wanted the Korean chicken to be spicier. But the whole experience is always fun to try new foods. It's big and open with lots of seating inside & on the patio. Nice staff. I always have a great time. read more

What a GREAT place to meet friends, people watch, and shop a little! I love the colorful, comfortable vibe, the great food offerings, and the exquisite shops. I came three times before finally getting it--once was on Monday, when it was closed, the second time I couldn't find a parking space, and the third time my driving app said it opened at 10:30 but it didn't open until 11. Was looking for a place to chill and grab some food after a long couple of days and an early flight. While waiting for my bag I saw Mother Road Market advertised and looked into it. I saw some amazing pictures of restaurants and shopping all located in the historic route 66 area. I decided to check it out and really enjoyed the shops that were outdoors, including the Tulsa visitors center and couple of cute souvenir shops. Walking further there was a larger building next to it that had more food and shopping spots. I enjoyed walking around and checking out the different eateries, shops, and just people watching. They had a few TVs including a large project screen in an outside area. It was a little cold outside to explore this area and some other around the building, but what was inside cool to check out. I can't wait to come back to check out more of the shops! The parking is a little tricky, so keep your eyes open for the correct signs! read more

The market is indoor food and shop market. I like this model to gather all food vendors together with common area dining. The market also located at the historical Route 66. It great place for food resting stop. During the lunch time, it is difficult to find a parking spot near building. It very popular during lunch. The market has three favorite stores I like - Akita Shusi, the Wel Bar, and Bohdi Bowl. Other than the brewery and food. There is some jewelry and gift stores. The back building has an outside cover patio. The inside has restrooms facilities that accommodate the customers. read more

Parking in the back - it's a small narrow driveway entrance that leads to a bigger parking lot in the rear that's free. My favorite were Akira sushi for their Tonkotsu Ramen, the general store for their elderberry syrup, the souvenir soup with little trinkets and the railhead coffee because the barista is super enthusiastic and sweet in creating my customized "nutty concoction" and the health food smoothie. There's additional seating and another food vendor in the area where there's kids golfing. Bathrooms are located to the right of the rear entrance. read more

This place was so cool. My BF and I ate at the Cajun place and enjoyed our meal. He ordered the one strip and potatoes but they gave him two. The potatoes were like battered but so delicious. He said the chicken was great and didn't share. lol. I ordered the lunch 8 ounce chicken and sausage gumbo with honey jalapeño cornbread. The cornbread had good flavor but was dry and fell apart. But the gumbo was so delicious I wish I had gotten more but was stuffed. The flavors were intense, I don't like hot hot but this had just the right amount for me to go "Ohhh" but not over the top. The service was amazing, chef helped with any questions we had and the place is huge with tons of space to sit. We want to go back and try so many more places. read more

We tried three different places - the Mexican, the chicken tender place and the burger place. All the food was overpriced and nothing worth going back for sadly. The service at the burger place - howdy burger I believe - was so bad. They didn't even view the online orders until I approached them and let them know I had already been waiting for 30 minutes. :(. It was not worth the wait and nothing was done as an apology for the extensive delay. Would not go out of my way for this place again :( read more

"Best food market per USA Today" offering a variety of food and merchandise venders. There's a parking lot in the back and overflow down a block. Tons of seating available and a large covered space outside for kids to play. I went on a Wednesday and many food vendors (not all) offered a $5 meal option. We had some excellent food from SoBahn82, which is Korean food, inside Mother Road Market. Found out that they will be set up there for three years and then find a restaurant location in Tulsa. The food was prepared freshly with a generous portion of meat, and the taste is AMAZING!! We had the Bibimbap (rice with seasoned bean sprout, zucchini, carrots and onions topped with a fried egg with a choice of one protein (beef, pork, tofu etc.) and with a choice of sauce on the side. I chose the Ponzu sauce, which is sweet and citrusy. By the time I was almost finished with the meal, I was craving the sauce. The beef was very tender, and the rice was kind of like a sticky rice, but not too sticky. Highly recommend trying the Korean food from SoBahn82. We were hesitant at first, but the lady was very nice and explained a little more about what the food is like. Can't wait to eat that again. read more

This spot was awesome! Great idea for community. Perfect old building repurposed as a food vendor hall. Tons of options for my family. Some had chicken, some had rice bowls, some had burgers and salads. Everyone left full and enjoyed their meal. Meals are a tad on the higher priced side, but not too exhausting. Many in my party even stopped for ice cream and said it was fantastic! This place has a great hometown vibe and is definitely something that Tulsa should be proud of. Oh my goodness - I've never been so happy to give a place 5 stars. This is amazing. There's something for everyone. Healthy, vegan, greasy, sweet, juices, pet toys. We tried the following: Chef Youness - this was in the visiting booth and it was by far the best food in the building and the absolute best value. The lamb ragu was stuffed full of delicious tender lamb, and it came with 2 huge sides, roasted vegetables and lentil soup. It was all actual perfection. The server suggested the orange ginger lemonade, and it was super refreshing, I'm glad I added that. Only $17 and it was definitely enough food for 2, what a great deal. If we lived in Tulsa I would definitely use them to cater events, some of the best pasta I think I've ever had. My kids loved it all too, especially the soup. Bodhi bowl - really good. We got the vegan coconut rice and lentil bowl and it was very well done. I especially loved the rice, very creamy lots of coconut. Big Dipper - it has crazy flavors like blue cheese and pear (which is absolutely delicious), and also the amazing lavender honeycomb. Loved this. Zasa's pizza - excellent pizza. I don't recommend the pickle pizza unless you *really* like pickles. It's a lot of pickles, but good. The crust is perfect, very soft and chewy and salty. My sister and her husband got chicken and the wolf - they must have loved it because they ate it all. I am definitely trying that next time because the chicken portions are enormous, seems like a great deal. Also there is a huge heated patio with lounges and more seating at the back of the building where there's often kids running around, good spot to chill while your kids use up energy. When we went they were setting up for the Sober Sips festival, sounded pretty fun. I've never heard of dry January, but it's a great idea and I love that there is an event. We've seen quite a few clips on Youtube about Mother Road so we decided to grab lunch from here to give it a try. There were a few restaurants to choose from! We walked around a little and decided to try Dr. Kustom's Beef Pastel and Birria Tacos from Pollos Asados! The Beef Pastel was freshly fried and served piping hot so be careful! It was filled with flavorful ground meat and mozzarella cheese. The dough was very light so it made the pie fluffy so you can eat the whole pie without any regrets! The Birria Tacos were okay; a little on the oily side but the consommé was really good! Service was good. Both dining areas and bathrooms were clean. read more

Reviewing Zaza! Their pieces of pizza are huge! You basically get a quarter pizza per slice, or pretty close to it. They do have a deal for two slices and a drink. I think it's $13.99 before tax. And they have pickle pizza!!! read more

I was fortunate enough to have been brought to this treasure when I was visiting Tulsa -- what a treat! It was described to me as individual indoor food trucks that occasionally rotate stalls out, but it's much nicer than that. Each "stand" is a different kind of food. The person I went with got the fried chicken with french fries from Chicken and the Wolf, and enjoyed it greatly (they go there often). I went to Curds and Whey and got the Baja Grilled Chicken Wrap, which I thought was fresh and delicious (I passed on the bacon, and with the french fries that came with it, thought it was a good call!). Speaking of the fries, they were the lightest french fries I've ever had -- they were seasoned something something that had a bit of a kick to it (yay!) but they weren't greasy or dense like regular fries. A few more days left in my visit, so I hope to be able to return! read more
