Me and my cousin found a great neighborhood spot. The owner Mrs Charlene personally checks on you to make sure you enjoyed her food. The other customers are friendly and made me feel like a regular. The bartender Nikki was great and makes the best drinks. I will be back often.

The bartender Q was awesome. Restaurant had a vibe but not many people there. Food is decent. Not a fan of sugar in my vegetables. The sugar overpowered the cabbage and greens. The whole wings were very tasty.

Stopped by for some lunch after a work event in the area. Found out that it was a black owned business, which I love to support. I ordered the Turkey burger with fries. It was really good. I recommend trying the Charlene mild sauce. I put it on my burger, but was told a lot of people put it on their fries. I was the only person in the establishment at the time. The bartender/owner was very attentive and made good conversation. The place gave a neighborhood bar feel. I will definitely be returning.

This food was very very good, I'd definitely recommend anyone looking for a place to eat to go here. She had our food out in a good amount of time and the staff was friendly. I ordered the lamb chops and when I tell you that those were THE best lamb chops EVER I'm not playing. The macaroni and greens were definitely top tier. I'm definitely visiting this place again.

Upon entry this place looked pretty bad and unfortunately I was hungry so there was not any options around 9pm that I was willing to explore. The place looked highly disorganized and had a distinct smell when I went. I didn't have high hopes and the best I could expect was not to feel sick after eating the food. Unfortunate because I ordered the smoked wings and Mac and cheese. Got back to my hotel, Mac and cheese was overly salted with no flavor, something told me to tear the wing open before I ate it. Glad that I did because it is purple in the center. After eating a few bites the only edible thing on the plate was the cabbage. Hopefully I don't wake up sick tomorrow but we gotta do better. Coming from NYC I've never experienced a place to eat with bug spray within the visibility of a customer. Pretty sad because I was looking specifically for black owned businesses. I recommend yall cleaning up the place this is unsanitary and unsafe.

As a family group went to this restaurant during a trip to DC & it was a disaster, very disappointing. We got there around 4pm and waited 2 1/2 hours to receive our food. The waiter was great but the customer service altogether was horrible. They were out of Meatloaf, chicken salad, cabbage, etc. the corn pudding was continuously cooked & burnt. The only thing that was good was the seafood egg roll and the greens. The corn bread was over microwaved and rubbery. The Mac and cheese was dry and the chicken was under seasoned. I totally do not recommend this place at all.

Great family-run spot with friendly owner. I got the fried fish (whiting), mac and cheese, collared greens, string beans, and banana pudding. All of it was delicious but my favorite was the greens - flavorful and tender. The food runs of the salty side, but I like salty so no complaints. The pudding had nice chunks of fresh banana with whipped cream swirled in. Looking forward to coming back!

We come here all the time for the bread pudding but this time we brought a group. Always pleasant and lively, Puddin reminds me of southern hospitality at its finest. The bread pudding is served warm and rich with chunks of bread and browned butter and bourbon flavors throughout. Add the creamy homemade vanilla pudding on top and we never leave without it. We also got to sample a new alcoholic beverage that was heavenly. Cannot remember the name but if you go to the front counter they will give you a sample of the mixer. Trust me, you will want to order it. The gumbo was a crowd favorite. One sample and the flavor made you want to double back. My guests walked the area and came back specifically to get some to take home. They boxed it up separately for easy transport. Now that is service. Quick and easy stop right before it rained. Puddin is a complete takeout spot but the vibes while you order and wait make it a counter worth visiting again and again. The hospitality, the comfort food, and the inviting staff make it unforgettable.

My only note for improvement would be the timing of when the food is brought out to the table. Some people like to eat certain food items together and the pace was lagging in-between the food items dropped off to the table. Another area for improvement was the frequency in which the waiter checked our table, especially since we had bottomless mimosas. I feel we may not have been able to maximize on our mimosas due to the slow check-backs. There were some side option, just nothing that really suited me. I ordered a beer and later a tequila sunrise. The cocktail was bright, beautiful, and delicious. It was such a great drink for the beautiful sunny day it was. Our server was Deja and she was wonderful. She was prompt and we saw her often, which was appreciated. The check is done via QR code which was very easy. We had a slight issue with our check not pulling up, but she quickly resolved. Again, the food doesn't really suit my preferences (heavy meat options), but I would definitely pop back for a drink.

When I mentioned that I prefer my bacon crispy, he was happy to take it back. It seemed like they simply put the same bacon back on the flat top, so it still wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but I appreciated his willingness to help. My friend ordered the fish and chips. The steak fries were really good, but the fish itself was just okay. Overall, I know every restaurant has an off day, and this experience won't keep me from coming back. The pancakes are still worth the visit. Next time, I'll be a little more specific about my preferences from the start.

One of the highlights was the bottomless brunch, which made for a fun and enjoyable experience. The food was full of flavor and tasted fresh. Every dish was well-seasoned that keeps you coming back for more. The portions were satisfying, and everything arrived hot and beautifully presented. What stood out the most was the hospitality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The only downside to our visit was the live band performing inside the restaurant. While the music added to the atmosphere, it was so loud that we couldn't comfortably hear the people at our table or have a conversation. Because of the noise level, we ultimately chose to move to the outdoor seating, where we were able to enjoy our meal and each other's company much more comfortably.

The outdoor area approaching was really nice and had a pleasant vibe, and the inside ambiance was cool too -- good atmosphere overall. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We were told we couldn't be seated in a booth because of a section closure, but about 10 minutes later a family was seated in that same section. When we asked about it, we were told staff "thought the staff was leaving" -- which didn't really add up and felt like an inconsistent excuse. It also took about 20 minutes for anyone to greet our table, and another 10 minutes after that just to get water. Once we did order, there wasn't much guidance from staff -- no recommendations on best sellers or specifics about the entrees, just general "it's good" responses across the board. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag: Seafood egg rolls -- really good Stuffed shrimp -- really good Spinach dip -- not the best Lamb chops (my entree) -- two good ones, two very fatty chops that were not good around 8/10 they were seasoned well! Mashed potatoes -- not good Spinach side -- not good bland, needed seasoning Mac n cheese -- pretty good Overall the meat itself was underwhelming given the price point/expectations, seasoning was it! The food had some genuine highlights, but between the slow service, the seating mix-up, and a few misses on the sides, the overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Might give it another shot for the ambiance, but hoping for better service next time!

If you don't drink they seem to have a limited NA beer selection, and I didn't see any mocktails. We really liked our beet salad and our Ceasar salad, which came out os fast, I wonder if they already had them prepped. I really liked my fish and chips as it was a nice portion and wasn't heavy on the frying at all. It was very well done and the tartar sauce was great.
