I really like the food. It is higher quality than most carry outs. I always order ahead online and the service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend this place for your carry out lunch needs.

Croaker Platter

Fast friendly neighborhood spot where they know the regulars. I came for a croissant sandwich and when I saw they had croaker we decided to get both. 2 large pieces of croaker with home fries fried hard and a sausage egg and cheese croissant with grape jelly. Food was hot and good. A family friend came in for his daily scrapple and egg sandwich and a hey knew what he wanted before he stepped up to the counter.

Place is a DC Icon, been here for years, if you know you know. The staff will remember you and treat you as family. The bacon egg and cheese croissant is the best I've had. So good

I will definitely recommend trying the ' Bulgogi ' steak Sandwich it is really good! It worth the trip from Woodbridge just for that. Parking is a little challenging but just take your time you will find one around the way.

I stumbled across Al's by accident but glad I found it. It's a solid, "get the job done," Korean owned carry out. I wanted a quick breakfast; I stopped in for a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant with a side of home fries. The food is decent, quick and the prices aren't crazy. I'm a native Washingtonian, and spots like this were very common in the city so I pretty much knew what I was going to get. I'd definitely go back.

Bulgogi and rice with free soup!

$8.99 for a huge to go container full of bulgogi, green peppers, onions and rice. a tad pricy but along the same lines price-wise as the food trucks near the metro station. The food was pretty darn tasty, but a tad salty. I actually needed more rice to balance out the salt. I don't know whether it was part of the meal or not, but I also got a small container of beef and veggie soup with rice. oddly enough, the soup tastes remotely what my mom/dad makes at home. there was enough food for me to keep in the office fridge for lunch tomorrow. however, from waiting on the bench inside the shop (it's so weird there's a park bench parked about 6 inches higher on the edge of the shop), i notice that the ticket item was fried chicken wings with mumbo sauce. will i come here again...yes, i am tempted by the fried fish and chicken wings and this so called mumbo sauce...

Scrapple??!!!
Antwan J.

If you like "bulgogi", how about a bulgogi cheese-steak??!! The selection here, at the Korean owned establishment, is great for lunch. So far my office has tried the bulgogi sandwich, the fried shrimp, and the Tilapia platter (Great!!) They serve breakfast as well (Strawberry Waffles, French Toast) Great fast Deli.

There was a line, but it went quickly. All the ladies are super friendly. There's a decent amount of seating inside, none available outside. They don't have water available for your own water bottles, but they have fountain drinks and other bottled beverages. The cashier told us to go find a place to sit and they'd bring our food to us, but all the tables were packed! When she saw us standing there, she asked if there was any seating available and we told her no. She then took our food from the tray there were going to serve it on and nicely packaged it up for us to take to go. She told us there was a Holiday Inn next door with a courtyard, tables and chairs and places to charge our phones. So we went there! The sandwiches are a very generous size. My daughter got a Brooklyn sandwich which is roast beef, banana peppers, American cheese and thousand island dressing. I got a "build your own" sandwich with roast beef, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, mayo and mustard. I couldn't eat all of mine, but my daughter devoured hers! We both really enjoyed our sandwiches!

I wasn't anticipating a nice dining room to dine in, but there it was so we did. Although it was uncomfortably warm in there. Must have been something wrong with their A/C because they couldn't possibly always have it so warm, especially in the middle of summer. I ordered The Clevelander and she had The Mel. And of course we hit their awesome pickle bar! Why doesn't every deli in the universe have a pickle bar?! The sandwiches are piled high with meat and so delicious. Several complaints about mine, however: the menu said it comes with mayo and provolone. It came out with no spread at all so I was brought mayo packets to apply myself, which is way less than ideal with a huge already assembled sandwich. And the brand new server (on her second day there) came back after we ordered and asked if I wanted cheese. I mentioned I thought it listed a cheese on the menu, which she confirmed. But then I ended up getting charged extra for the cheese that my sandwich was supposed to come with. Kind of lame. And while my friend was asked if she wanted hers toasted, I was not. I didn't think twice about it until mine came out toasted, which I neither asked for or wanted. Lastly, the sandwich was also supposed to come with "fresh cranberry spread" and if there was any on my sandwich, it wasn't detectable. But I decided not to even mention it because I didn't want to deconstruct my sandwich a second time. Regardless of these hiccups, I would certainly consider returning.

Delicious gourmet sandwiches - the March monthly special veggie sandwich, The Truth hit the spot!…read moreThe sandwich shop is tucked inside The Gatsby hotel with only indoor solo seating on cozy bar stools with a window view and some outdoor seating in front of the stadium. It's primarily a take-out shop with a dozen or sandwiches and a few sides. It was so good that I didn't even miss not cheese! Initially, I thought about adding cheese, but glad I didn't and stuck with the classic sandwich. By the time I made it through a couple of bites of the 2nd half of my sandwich, I was stuffed and didn't have any room or a craving for chips or fries that I typically get. It was a simple sandwich with quality ingredients made well. Crossing my fingers that the veggie The Truth sandwich stays on the menu and looking forward to coming back to try other sandwiches!

When I got back to the office, I ate my sandwiches and and a third of it was fat and tasted simple. I'm disappointed, I'll never eat here again.

The roast turkey subs were huge- with thinly shaved turkey packed in so full- and my kids ate every last bite. I ordered "The Italian" as it was the special, and it was so delicious! It has their homemade Italian dressing, salami, hot capicola, and provolone. I re-ordered it again! My mom also ordered several desserts: house made cannolis, banana bread pudding, oreo cookie mousse, tiramisu, and chocolate mousse cake. Everything was wonderful! There were a lot of delivery drivers picking up orders so it took a while for me to place my order. Wish they'd have a separate order area apart from pickup. I wanted to eat there but it was way too chaotic with security, delivery drivers and people coming in and out of speakeasy door. The Castellano had a crisped pile of gorgeous beef, with crispy fries, and super fresh veggies (basically a cheeseburger on a sub). My husband ordered this one, so I didn't taste it personally but he absolutely LOVED it. The Thommy, The Three Fingers is a chopped cheese. It's, by god, the best I've ever had in my life. I add peppers, provolone and mayo and an extra side of tzatziki (labeled garlic cucumber on the menu), and oil and vinegar (which tastes like Italian dressing, but who's counting?). The bread is phenomenal. I may literally just order a sub roll with no ingredients one day, just so I can eat it toasted with butter, with every meal I have. It's soft and fluffy, crispy and chewy all at the same time. (It almost gives bagel, but not tough). I also got the y cheesecake. Not as special, perhaps from the Cysco truck (iykyk), but I still bought it and scarfed it down. Strawberry topping was def the average canned-strawberry topping (but I personally love that). I cannot stress, the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! As for service, the entire team is so friendly and helpful. They kid around, make silly jokes and make sure your order is prepared fresh and fast. It isn't "fast food fast", but also doesn't taste like shit either, so the wait is worth it. At most 10-15 min if you don't call ahead. As for seating, in winter there are only two two-tops so seating is extremely limited. It is mostly a deli-and-get-outta-here kind of place, but nonetheless welcoming and charming. They have tons of Italian memorabilia all over the walls including giant GodFather posters, taxi plates and more. Today was my first time inside, but I've had my husband go pick up food several times on the way home. I cannot live without one of these subs AT MINIMUM once a month.
