We had a wonderful dinner overall. The restaurant aims for an elevated, celebratory atmosphere, and in many ways it succeeds. The host and staff were pleasant and welcoming, and our server Bryant was exceptionally knowledgeable. Service was attentive without being intrusive, our dietary restrictions were acknowledged immediately, and plates were cleared promptly. The food was flavorful and, for the most part, justified the price. The reason this is not a full five-star review comes down to a few main callouts: First, the atmosphere experienced several disruptions. Flash photography should not be allowed. We were seated at the banquette for two, and the corner table nearby was taking constant flash photos. The table to our left was doing the same. It was distracting and diminished what should have been a warm and intimate dining room. We also observed a gentleman opening a bottle of wine who then heavily sniffed the cork while it was still attached to the corkscrew, which was unusual. Wine service involves inspecting the cork separately and assessing the wine through the taste pour, especially since some guests like to keep the cork as a memento. In addition, there appears to be no dress code, guests in shorts, sneakers, and baseball caps felt out of place considering the price point and ambiance. Second, the staffing presence was overwhelming. At one point, eight employees stood directly across from us chatting, and later a group of seven or eight staff members exited a back room in a line. It was distracting and felt more like observing internal operations than simply dining..Creating a noticeable sense of crowding rather than refinement. As for the food, we enjoyed the focaccia, the special of the day ravioli with brown butter and butternut squash, the ricotta gnocchi, the skirt steak, the broccolini, and the panzanella salad. A small note: the croutons on the panzanella were unexpectedly cold and hard, which distracted from an otherwise well-prepared dish. We each had one cocktail, and our bill with the service charge came in just under four hundred dollars. It was surprising that the service charge itself was taxed rather than only the food adding an additional $10 but it is what it is. Still, the ravioli and gnocchi were clear standouts, and overall the dishes were thoughtfully prepared the skirt steak a bit small. A minor detail, but the front door slams quite hard and there is no one stationed to assist with it, which interrupts the otherwise polished rhythm of the space almost as if you're getting a tush push and door slammed on you upon leaving. Overall, if you are celebrating, this is a great spot to do so. The food, the energy, and the service all deliver, assuming you are prepared for the wallet dent. Despite the distractions, we enjoyed the experience and will certainly return to try the pizzas. The ones we saw looked delicious. read more

I recently visited Mother Wolf in Miami's Design District for a birthday dinner, and everything about the restaurant itself was perfect -- the food, the vibe, the ambiance -- it was beautiful, and my friends and I were admiring it all night. However, the experience with our server, Mercedes, left a lot to be desired. From the moment we sat down, it felt like we were being rushed. Mercedes pushed us to order drinks and food very quickly, not even giving us the chance to enjoy the process or order appetizers separately. It made the dinner feel more stressful than celebratory. What was really disappointing was her attitude toward us when she thought we weren't paying attention. At one point, after she dropped the check on the table without us even asking for it, she stood behind my friends as they reviewed it, shook her head, and visibly sighed in frustration before walking away. It wasn't loud, but her body language was clear and dismissive. It felt incredibly disrespectful, especially when we were simply trying to organize the bill properly. Later, when my friend asked for an espresso, Mercedes said she had already closed the tab. After my friend requested the espresso on a new tab, Mercedes said she would put it in -- but she never did. My friend waited about 20 minutes before a very kind gentleman (whose name we unfortunately didn't catch) noticed and not only got us the espressos but also comped them. We later found out that Mercedes had already left for the night without informing anyone or putting in the order. Once Mercedes left, the rest of our dinner felt much more relaxed and enjoyable, but unfortunately, the rushed service and poor attitude during the first half left a lasting impression. I understand that end-of-shift fatigue can happen, but if that's the case, it's better not to take a new table rather than make guests feel like a burden. Mother Wolf is a stunning restaurant, and I hope management can address this kind of behavior to ensure every guest gets to fully enjoy the incredible food and atmosphere. read more

MotherWolf in Miami is a seriously stunning spot. The vibe and decor are on point, and the entryway is perfect for snapping some pics before you even sit down. The space itself feels fancy and fun, making it a great place to hang out with friends or even on a date. The Food - Suppli al Telefono:I wasn't crazy about this one. The inside had a good flavor, but it wasn't super hot when it came out, and the outside was a bit bland. Could've been better, honestly. - Diavola Pizza:The pizza was solid. The sauce was sweet, the crust was thin, and the flavor overall was good. My only complaint is that it was a little on the oily side for my taste, but that's a small thing. - Mezze Maniche alla Gricia:This dish was tasty. I was hoping to have the carbonara from my last visit (it was amazing), but it's no longer on the menu. The waiter recommended this instead, and it was definitely a good choice. Creamy and flavorful, though not as epic as the carbonara. - Linguine alle Vongole:This was the winner of the night. Hands down, must-order. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the clam sauce was just spot-on. Definitely the highlight of the meal. - Spaghetti all'Arrabbiata:This one hit the spot if you're into spicy pasta. The sauce was just the right amount of heat, and the spaghetti was cooked well. A great option if you like a little kick. Final Thoughts: MotherWolf is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're a pasta fan. The pasta dishes really shine here, and the atmosphere is as impressive as the food. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The lighting is intentionally low, casting a golden glow that enhances the rich textures and details of the space. Warm tones dominate the interior, with earthy hues, plush seating, and rustic yet refined materials that give a nod to Italian heritage while maintaining a contemporary edge. We started with the Ruthetta salad, which was fresh and perfectly balanced. The Polite Ol Brasato meatballs were fantastic, with such a unique preparation and flavor profile. The rigatoni was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. We opted for the Margarita and Diavola pizzas, fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavor. To top it all off, we ordered the Tiramisu, Crostata al Cioccolato (red wine cherries, bronte pistachios, gelato di vaniglia) and received a third dessert of gelato on the house! You cannot go wrong with Tiramisu, this was certainly the best one I've ever tasted. The Crostata al Cioccolato will remain one of my favorite desserts as the many different components have this dessert such rich flavor. The house gelato was absolutely amazing, the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal. As we made our exit each and every member of the restaurant smiled and waved. I was really excited to try Mother Wolf based on its great reputation and ambiance, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed. While the decor is stylish and the staff is friendly, the food didn't quite live up to expectations. We started with the flor di zucca, which was fine but nothing extraordinary, and the ruchetta salad which was exactly as expected with just four ingredients hard to mess up, really. The prawns were the biggest letdown, lacking any real flavor. The short rib meatballs were more like short rib croquettes, and although they had decent flavor, they were served cold by the time they reached the table. For the main courses, we ordered the Mortazza pizza which was essentially a folded pizza. Unfortunately, it was bland and underwhelming. We also tried two pastas. While the earlier dishes came out relatively quickly, the pastas took 80 minutes to arrive. When they finally did, the portions were small. The cacio e pepe was too al dente for my taste, but the rigatoni all'amatriciana was excellent. For dessert, we had the olive oil cake and tiramisu, both of which were good, but overall, the meal didn't leave me with enough of a reason to return. read more

Had an amazing dinner at Mother Wolf Miami last night - the Roman pasta dishes are absolutely incredible, especially their Rigatoni all'Amatriciana with that perfect guanciale and pecorino.
