I stopped in while I was in the area for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I've been seeing social media posts about this place and was excited to see what they offered. The space seems very calm and I noticed two people with laptops working at tables. There are also arm chairs. There are two cases with pastries and other treats that are more savory. It is very bright, airy, and well lit in there. I ordered a summer special called "sand in the cheeks" latte. It was good, but sweeter than I anticipated. I also ordered a honeycomb and a pistachio cake. I got all of these to go. I immediately shared the honeycomb with someone and I really enjoyed it. I had never heard of this. The girl instructed me to heat it in the microwave and then pour the honey on it. She initially offered to heat it up for me, but I declined because I wasn't sure when I'd be home to eat it. it was filled with cream cheese - that was unexpected, but it worked. I really enjoyed this. I saved the pistachio cake for after dinner, since my father was coming over and he loves anything pistachio. The serving was perfect for two people. It reminded me of a Tres Leche cake. My father absolutely loved it, so much so, that since then we have treated ourselves to two other pistachio cakes from other places, and he keeps saying this one is the best. I would definitely return and try some other items, and maybe they will have a fall coffee menu like they did for summer. The service was friendly. read more

This is an updated review. I wanted to love this place, but.... Third time here. Let me start by saying that the coffee is nothing short of scrumptious. Truly. It is that good. And the service is excellent. Nice vibe. Nice music. Nice staff. Lovely gem. I had a latte Biscoff. Soooo very good. This was the first time that I ordered decaf coffee instead of regular. Afterwards, I was taken aback when we happened to read on our receipt we had been charged more for my decaf coffee. Oh, no?!! Oh, yes. It was a separate, distinct line item charge. I genuinely don't understand this. Am I missing something? Coffee is this business's business. I have never heard of nor have I ever experienced being charged more for ordering decaffeinated coffee. It was ludicrous. It is just not right. Period. We both ordered small coffees. Nothing else and it was over $15 in total. This coffee is quite expensive as it is but to be charged extra for ordering decaf is ridiculous. It is a small charge, but it's the principle. This practice is sales prevention. And it worked: as much as we both love the coffee--we won't be going back. read more

I absolutely loved this coffee shop! From the moment I walked in, it felt warm, inviting, and incredibly clean. They offer a wonderful variety of pastries, breakfast items, and other treats, and their beverage menu is full of creative and delicious options. The seating is thoughtfully designed, with cozy spots for couples as well as larger tables for groups, making it a great place whether you're meeting a friend, working, or just relaxing with a cup of coffee. Even on a Sunday, when it was busy, the service was quick, friendly, and efficient. One thing to keep in mind is parking. I visited on a Sunday, so metered parking wasn't enforced, but during the rest of the week you'll likely need to use street meters. Since it's located on a street lined with popular restaurants, parking may take a little patience. Overall, this place is truly a hidden gem. I stopped by MOTW's latest Connecticut opening located in Middletown. I remember this space waiting to be occupied for a long time, I'm glad MOTW decided to take over. This cafe is so beautiful inside. You can tell they're inspired by the Middle Eastern culture by the Mosaic Lamps, as well as some traditional items on the menu, such as baklava. While the interior is lovely and plenty spacious, we decided to sit outside because we finally got a day without rain. I ordered their Graham Slam Latte. This was a delicious hazelnut mocha. Additionally we got a cappuccino, a mocha, a Strawberry Hibiscus refresher and a Mosaic Cake. Everything was very tasty and everyone was very pleased. The Mosaic Cake was delicious with its dark chocolate base, and it reminded it me that I actually haven't made it in years. We had a very pleasant time at MOTW. read more

Such a vibe! To the wall art, LED lights, cozy couch in the corner, nice staff, fast service....it's definitely the type of place you can do work, chill, and just enjoy the setting. I tried the Gingerbread Chai tea and it was really good, but it leans more creamy/foamy than super gingerbread-y, so I'd probably ask for extra gingerbread next time. The baklava dessert was also delicious . It was super flaky,and filled with nuts like pistachios. Overall, the ambiance and vibe is a reason to always go back. read more

My husband and I stopped by on a Monday for some treats and caffeine. We both tried drinks off the Spring menu - I had an iced Ube Matcha, and he had the Graham Slam Latte. We split a Chocolate Croissant, Spinach Empanada, and Iced Lemon Muffin with our daughter. Honestly everything was really good - the croissant was generously stuffed with chocolate, the empanada was flavorful, and the muffin was lightly lemon flavored and not too sweet. I LOVED my matcha, it actually tasted like ube and the vanilla matcha cold foam was so creamy! We for sure will be back again, and I really hope the ube matcha will still be available! read more

The name of the place had me confused, but that being said it was an amazing place!! the Dubai cake was to die for even though the Dubai part wasn't sweet. They did it right with a nice chocolate icing. They were very up-to-date with innovations and creativity of the menu. Their lattes with almond milk or to die for as well The staff should have the opportunity if they don't to try all the desserts so they could give feedback because the desserts were beautiful. Came to check out this cute coffee shop in downtown Middletown. We were greeted by friendly staff as soon as we got to the counter. They were busy too. We ordered an iced latte and some pastries to include baklava , birds nest, and , baklava finger. Everything was good. Definitely had some tasty sweet treats here. We've been to MOTW's Middletown location twice now, and both times it's been fantastic! This one is consistent to their New Haven location, and my husband absolutely loves their chai. I got the hot chocolate, and it was served at the perfect temperature, where it was hot but not scalding. The staff handled the volume of customers well, and we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the drinks were ready. We took them to go this time, but they have a nice seating area as well. Looking forward to stopping by again when we're in downtown Middletown. read more

This coffee shop is BUSY! The line takes up a lot of space so the seating along the wall feels cramped, but as soon as it cleared up it was lovely. Despite the length of the line and my noon arrival, all of the empanadas were replenished so i was able to try the two I wanted. Both the beef and the bacon, egg, and cheese were delicious. The dough is a little sweet and the beef was seasoned perfectly. Bacon, egg, and cheese speaks for itself. I enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake latte. Love this spot! The owners are lovely and its such a welcoming space. They have a large coffee and refresher (as well as other drink options) on their menu plus so great bites including their empanadas and variety of desserts. We tried their baklava, fruit mousse, dubai chocolate cake. Their drinks were delicious (and not to mention their cold foam was spot on for their iced drinks). Been here twice now and am already in love with their pistachio latte. Perfect on a cold winter day! I tried the chicken empanada on my server's recommendation and it was served hot and flaky with a moderate level of spice. Can't wait to try their others. The vibe is friendly. There's a mix of 4-seat tables, comfy chairs, bar-style window seating, and a cozy corner with a loveseat. We came as a group of 4 with with two babies on Christmas day and it was super busy. However, the staff were so nice and helpful, and they made our drinks in a timely matter. I highly recommend the iced biscoff latte, one of the best I've had. There are a handful of tables and the decor is really nice. I'll be coming back again soon. read more

I ordered a large cardamom iced latte with Oat Milk-it was $9.61. When the barista called it he said a medium cardamom iced latte-not sure if I got ripped off or not but I was in a hurry and had to leave. I stopped by today thinking they were open (thanks Google!). They still welcomed me in with the nicest energy even though they weren't officially opened yet. One of the guys took the time to share the history of the business and you could tell there is so much passion and love behind what they do. I tried three drinks and they were all delicious. A strawberry matcha - perfect for the girlies that want to hop on the trend without the strong matcha taste. The iced biscoff latte had nice balance and coffee and sweetness. My favorite, the Spanish Latte with condensed milk and cinnamon was sooo good and perfect for this time of year. Today is Christmas and my family and I decided to spend the afternoon walking around Middletown. We hoped to find somewhere to buy milk for my two year granddaughter (who ran out last night ) and discovered that everything was closed except MOTW. We walked into the inviting space and asked if they might be willing to sell us a glass, even though its not on the menu. They immediately said yes and asked what size. We ordered a large and a few drinks for ourselves. When it came time to pay they said that there was no charge for the milk, because "Children need milk.". Try as we might they wouldn't take any money for it. We were deeply touched by their kindness, and the fact that our drinks were delicious, made our experience all the more wonderful.
