Gingerbread Chai Tea and Baklava fingers
Sherrise S.

Such a vibe! To the wall art, LED lights, cozy couch in the corner, nice staff, fast service....it's definitely the type of place you can do work, chill, and just enjoy the setting. I tried the Gingerbread Chai tea and it was really good, but it leans more creamy/foamy than super gingerbread-y, so I'd probably ask for extra gingerbread next time. The baklava dessert was also delicious . It was super flaky, and filled with nuts like pistachios. Overall, the ambiance and vibe is a reason to always go back.

My husband and I stopped by on a Monday for some treats and caffeine. We both tried drinks off the Spring menu - I had an iced Ube Matcha, and he had the Graham Slam Latte. We split a Chocolate Croissant, Spinach Empanada, and Iced Lemon Muffin with our daughter. Honestly everything was really good - the croissant was generously stuffed with chocolate, the empanada was flavorful, and the muffin was lightly lemon flavored and not too sweet. I LOVED my matcha, it actually tasted like ube and the vanilla matcha cold foam was so creamy! We for sure will be back again, and I really hope the ube matcha will still be available!

First time trying this spot; they have only been open for about a month We got the crème brûlée iced latte and some pastries; Baklava, birds nests and baklava fingers. The iced latte was very good, creamy and topped with cinnamon The baklava had lots of pistachios, very flaky pastry very good combo of pistachios and honey! Wish there was a bit more honey. The baklava finger had a combo of pistachio and walnuts! The birds nests had both chopped and whole pistachios! They have a variety of drinks to choose from and breakfast options like muffins and empanadas, cakes, bagels and croissants

Busy, busy on a Sunday morning but worth it for the yummy coffee and treats. Location is perfect and plenty of seating, solid service. Will be back!

Came to check out this cute coffee shop in downtown Middletown. We were greeted by friendly staff as soon as we got to the counter. They were busy too. We ordered an iced latte and some pastries to include baklava , birds nest, and , baklava finger. Everything was good. Definitely had some tasty sweet treats here. Easy place to sit, talk, think, or just get some work done, or even just to relax. Not just another coffee shop. Definitely a place I will be coming back to.

We've been to MOTW's Middletown location twice now, and both times it's been fantastic! This one is consistent to their New Haven location, and my husband absolutely loves their chai. I got the hot chocolate, and it was served at the perfect temperature, where it was hot but not scalding. The staff handled the volume of customers well, and we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the drinks were ready. We took them to go this time, but they have a nice seating area as well. Looking forward to stopping by again when we're in downtown Middletown.

Love this spot! The owners are lovely and its such a welcoming space. They have a large coffee and refresher (as well as other drink options) on their menu plus so great bites including their empanadas and variety of desserts. We tried their baklava, fruit mousse, dubai chocolate cake. Their drinks were delicious (and not to mention their cold foam was spot on for their iced drinks). Their season menu rotates and is currently offering a variety of fun winter drinks.

Been here twice now and am already in love with their pistachio latte. Perfect on a cold winter day! I tried the chicken empanada on my server's recommendation and it was served hot and flaky with a moderate level of spice. Can't wait to try their others. The vibe is friendly. There's a mix of 4-seat tables, comfy chairs, bar-style window seating, and a cozy corner with a loveseat. First visit was on a weekday with lots of folks on laptops, but day after Christmas is buzzing. Love their mission too, especially important in these challenging times. Will be back, 10/10 recommend!

They have the best matcha I ever had I also tried different lattes and the flavors are unique I definitely recommend the place

I ordered a large cardamom iced latte with Oat Milk-it was $9.61. When the barista called it he said a medium cardamom iced latte-not sure if I got ripped off or not but I was in a hurry and had to leave. Ten bucks for a small iced latte was way too steep in my opinion. The cafe is beautiful.

Strawberry matcha and Argentinean empanada

Their matcha is the best I've had- personal favs are the mango and strawberry! Everyone is super kind and service is quick for the most part. If you're looking for a nice place to grab a snack, caffeinate, and chat, this is your spot in Downtown Middletown!

First time coming here and won't be the last…read more They have a variety of empanadas to choose from (beef, beef and cheese, chicken, chicken and cheese, bbq chicken, buffalo chicken, pork, pepperoni pizza, pizza, Shepards pie, Cuban!). They all come 2/$6 and AREN'T sold individually! Potato balls (pork, beef, chicken, buffalo chicken) They have side of rice and beans, rice and gandules, yellow rice, and Mac and cheese. They also have dessert empanadas with apple and guava and cheese. We got the beef empanadas and the apple pie with powdered sugar for desert! The apple pie empanadas were soo good! It was like a crispy and flaky pie in your hands!

Lots of Yelpers and CT foodies began to rave about Empanadas the place togo. I can absolutely see…read morewhy. You can tell because when you get there, there's usually a line. The staff is pleasant and helpful in recommending only the best for us to choose from. My husband and I wish we got more chicken and cheese ones because we ended up going rock paper scissors on who gets the last one from our order. I'm always a fan of a ground beef and cheese empanada and they delivered there as well. Perfect combo for the guava and cheese dessert empanadas. We even tried the potato fillers, which the one for the day was shepherds pie. We devoured everything and still think about those bites. My husband keeps asking "when are we going back to the empanadas place in Meriden" (he's not good with names). This means we will be back soon because we both can't wait!

Good flavors, pricy for the portion…read more Came to this place after a disastrous attempt at dinner at a steak and seafood place, girlfriend still wanted mussels and steak, so we came here. Place was relatively dead, though the area was alive with activity. Not the best sign, but we decided to give this place a fair shake. Server was very nice, helped translate the menu and offered lots of recommendations. Food came out relatively quickly, and we dug in. The skirt steak and mussels were good. The sauce on the side of the steak was herbaceous and tangy which worked well with the steak. The mussels were fairly big, with a nice light white wine sauce. The drinks were strong but balanced, and everything tasted good and was cooked well. I really don't mind paying for quality. Each small plate commanded the price of an entree at any other location. So you would expect really good bites for each plate. It was good, but lacked any special qualities to make it memorable. Which makes it good food at a hefty price tag. Given that they are right next door to a really popular tavern, it does take away from their appeal. It's not bad food, but it isnt stellar food either. It was leaps and bounds better than the first place I went to that night, but it's also not the first place I would go to for that area. The octopus is good, but there's a lot of good on that strip. It's an option if you want tapas

Unfortunately I don't remember the servers name, but I'm pretty sure he was our server, bartender and chef haha. Ambiance is calming and goes with the food that we ate. Music went great and helped out the ambiance of the place. If you're in the mood for great seafood and drinks, I highly recommend this place! We went on a Tuesday so it wasn't too busy. Not sure if it's any different for dinner. We also got an espresso martini which was made to perfection. All the food was honestly fantastic. The Pulpo has a large menu and the prices are not bad. If you're big into Paella's they also offer a wide variety of those. On Mondays and Tuesdays all Paellas are actually $20. It's a pretty far drive for me, but if I'm ever in the area again. I will definitely be going to this place for either lunch or dinner. Great job to the gentleman working today; whoever he was deserves a raise!

Visited Sayulita on a Friday night and it was very busy, our wait for 3 was 1 hr…read more Our group ordered fresh chips w/ queso, salso and guac. I loved the plantain chip garnish. Salsa was mild. My order included the saucedo taco, pulpo taco and watermelon marg. Saucedo taco = brisket and avocado w/ onions. This was AMAZING and I will add to any future order. Pulpo taco = octopus with sauce + veg. This was OK, tasted very charred and was chewy. I was excited to try octopus, but it might not be my thing. The watermelon marg was very mild in flavor and I personally would prefer it to have been sweeter. Overall, great experience, wonderful waitstaff who split our bill perfectly, some of the food was not exactly my taste, and the wait was long. I will have to come back and find my favorite foods. The decor was very cozy and you could sit indoors or outdoors.

Still a 20 minute wait. They take your phone number & call when table is ready. And the wait was fine. Cotton Hollow perserve is across the street, so a short walk over there and back worked out a perfect way to pass the time. We were seated in the bar area - at a regular table. It was decorated in a fun way - fish artwork, a tv, natural wood. We didn't quite understand the surf board that hung over the bar though? My daughter & I started with a drink - I had mango pina colada, she had a drink with gin, cranberries. Both good. Food - exceeded my expectations. I had the enchilada duo. Chicken & beef. I usually like beef better, however I think the chicken was in a mole sauce - so delicious. Husband had 2 brisket tacos that he loved. Daughter had the rice bowl (with chicken). Decided to split the churros for dessert. Came with: ice cream, Carmel & chocolate sauce. Yes - we will be back. I saw a patio outside. Warmer weather is coming
