Mark was fantastic. Its so refreshing when someone is passionate about what they do. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and tireless. He knew details of all the different trails and gave us clear instructions on the route we needed to take. He then would wait for us anywhere the route touched a road just in case we needed something. Was not in a rush and encouraged us to ride as much as we wanted shuttling us around to various trails around St George. Had a cooler of water bottles he shared with us also. His setup can take up to 11 bikers. Will definitely be using Mountain Bike Buddies again. read more

I just returned from a trip to Las Vegas and St George; hands down the highlight of the trip was our day riding with Mark and Mountain Bike Buddies, I can't rave enough about our experience. For $70/person, or approximately the same cost as renting a full suspension bike at a local shop: - Mark picked us up in the morning at our rental property, shuttled us 40 mins east to Gooseberry Mesa and JEM trailheads, then returned us home after riding. - Rented us full-suspension Kona mountain bikes in excellent condition, helmets and gloves. - Provided a cooler full of water, gatorade and other drinks, as well as snacks. - Guided us through the Gooseberry trails to ensure that our less-experienced riders were up to the task. Our riding experience was fantastic; even better, however, were the van rides to/from the trails as Mark entertained us with an array of fantastic stories. Incredible value and an even better guy. Mark also offers multi-day tours to Moab and/or Fruita; we didn't have time for that on this trip, but I'd absolutely plan a vacation around such an experience in the future. read more

My 16yr son and I were able to contact Mark and set up a day of guiding in the St George area to mountain bike. I contacted Mark in early spring to set up the date for an early July visit. Mark was very prompt and thorough in his email responses. On the day we scheduled, Mark picked us up and because of the emails we had sent back and forth knew exactly the kind of trails that would suit us We went to several trails in the St George area and were given great directions and advice on navigating the trails. On 2 trails Mark met us at the bottom and on the others they were loops so he waited where we were dropped off. This shuttle service was a frequent destination for my wife and I - for YEARS when we traveled the southwest many times per year from California. We used Mountain Bike Buddies always, literally multiple times a year, when we rode in these areas. The trails are awesome. Their niche is that the start vs finish points of many of these trails are quite far apart, requiring a shuttle in many cases or you will spend all day riding out and back on one or two trails vs with mountain bike buddies you can ride 5 or 6 and see it all!! This service is great if you want to see the entire area in a few days, instead of a few weeks!! Motels are cheap, food is reasonable, the trails are world class and if you put your faith in MBB, you will ride them all!! Finally after 8 years I'm just planning a new trip now and with the advent of yelp since my last visit, I am going to give a long overdue shout out for them, as I make them my shuttle service once again!! If you choose them, you will not be disappointed. During the shuttle drive to the top, or from the pickup from the bottom, you will laugh the entire time as Mark tells you the funniest stories regarding the history of St. George and the surrounding areas as if he were Tim Allen. He's literally a comedian on top of a trail expert. We always felt like family, everybody that was with us always felt the same. These guys are great people with great hearts that really go out of their way to get you a bike, fix it, suggest the best places to eat, etc. When you ride with them you definitely know that they are on YOUR schedule - and not the other way around. Yes they are great, you will not be disappointed with the trails or the hospitality. Quite frankly you will feel sad when its all over, it is such a fun day on and off the trails.
