Recently had the displeasure of eating at another one of Ted's restaurants. Was thinking this would be something different because it's hard to mess up burgers right? Very wrong... I order the double mountain burger which is two 3 oz patties. I can honestly say these burgers are tiny. And come with no sides. You can purchase FRIES topped with various things for another asinine price leaving you at $20 for a burger and fries. So the burger itself. It was ok. There was a weird hint of beer that I have no idea where It was coming from because the cheese said American. It tasted like the bitterness of non reduced beer mixed with cheese whiz. I ordered the poutine special which IS NOT POUTINE. This weird abomination had bacon "gravy" which had no depth to it (psst. Caramelized onions, roasted garlic, or even bourbon would've made it decent). The whole thing was topped with pulled chicken which had several small grisly bone bits in it. Overall one of the worst "poutines" I've ever had. I can only assume the BOH staff that came up with this is someone still very much learning, because of the amateur mistakes, but that's where leaders in the BOH come in. You're supposed to care about every dish that goes out. Taste everything. Always. This was an epic let down and I'm sure many others will praise it because they eat Kraft Mac and cheese like it came from the holy grail. But people who actually know good food, steer clear of this place. If you go in, stick with the floats and milkshakes. It's near impossible to mess those up... read more

Well, Bend has yet another place to get a burger and a beer. I ordered the double with bacon and 2 beers. $36 with tip. Ridiculous. As others have mentioned, the burger is quite small. The menu indicates it comes with shredded iceberg. Mine did not. Huge chunks of iceberg that just squish out of the bun when you bite into it. The bun fell apart. As this place is owned by the Drake/Washington group, it's nearly the same burger you get a Washington, if not exactly the same. Fries as well.....nothing special. They do not cook the burgers to order. The menu looks like something you'd see in an airport food court. I'm not really sure I get what a burger place that could easily be in a strip mall in Gary, Indiana is doing in a neighborhood like this in a building this beautiful. Wish them well.......but I'm guessing this will end up like Pflucke did. Out of business. Maybe not. Seems to be a never ending supply of people here now who don't seem to care about price/quality. Washington and Mountain Burger are not even close to the best burger in NWX. You'll need to find the best one on your own. There are enough Californians clogging that place up as it is. read more

They should be calling these 'cremated burgers' instead of Mountain Burgers because they totally cooked the life out of this meat. When they start preparing a 1/3 pound burger cooked to medium, instead of a charred 1/4 pound patty of meat we'll return. You might enjoy this if you are afraid of meat juices. The house made pickles are excellent. And the chicken-bacon-gravy fries are filling. read more

I thought it was great, wife and kids loved it too, delicious burgers. I had a wedge salad with chicken that was excellent. Our server Heidi couldn't have been better. Do I recommend them ? Omg absolutely yes! Not only is it a classy place but the food is fantastic . (We enjoyed vibing to the 80's music ) the burgers were excellent and the onion rings the best in Bend! Ate there the other night and I will definitely return. Had the regular Mountain burger with a fried egg and it was darn good. However, the true star of the show was the maple bacon covered sweet potato fries. They were phenomenal and are a must get. We also had the Butte cookie and that was tasty too. read more

The burgers are decent, but we stopped coming after we invited out-of-town relatives to dinner and received abysmal service. The server dropped all the plates at the edge of the table, turned on her heel and walked away while we were all left trying to sort out everyone's food. This place is excellent. Not only is the food good they have plenty of gluten free options made very obvious on the menu. Plus, I requested they bring in a gluten free beer and it was there a week later. But the gold standard moment was when they found an "award winning" gluten free beer that was better than what I requested. That level of proactivety is rare. Good times and good people. read more

Very average. I have had salads and a couple burgers and the ingredients always seem past their prime and slapped together. My mom was excited to try out a new burger place that had a vegan option... but I was appalled by how rude the waitress was. The burgers were glorified sliders. We ordered a milkshake after our meal and the cup was only 3/4 full and half of it was whipped cream. I really want to like this place and might go back once they work out the kinks but for a place that serves burgers only, they were fine but not worth the price. I prefer the burgers across the street or even at Deschutes Brewery (honestly, it's a great burger). Lots of up charges for a build your own burger. I believe mine ended up at $21 and then I ordered fries, which were another $5. Service was minimal. Not bad but not much attention. I was never asked if I liked my food or needed anything else. Just placed order, got my food, and was given a check (was really hoping to order a milkshake but was never asked during my meal) I went with my friend and her toddler. We seated at a tall booth, not offered a high chair. We should have been clear on that when being seated that we needed a high chair, I guess, but most places just know when they need to seat you with one based on your tiny toddler in tow. When they brought it out after we asked, it did not line up with the table (was elevated) and left about a foot in between chair and table so her son had to try and eat in the booth, which wasn't ideal but we made it work. If you need a high chair, ask for it and ask not to be seated at an elevated table. Honestly, I'll give it another go after 6 months or so and see if they have worked out the jitters. But it's too pricey for me for food that is just okay. Ambiance is what you would expect at a burger place that serves a high end vibe: space is lovely inside and out. Mugs used for fries and long plates for the burgers try and dress up the food a bit. Definitely what you are paying for. Overall, feeling is that the quality of the food doesn't come close to matching the price which is why the 2.5 rating. read more

Burgers are sliders at full burger pricing. Nothing mountain about these burgers. Also, the roasted brussel sprouts were soggy and inedible. Great location and beautiful interior that is likely headed for the same demise as Phlucke. It would be nice to have a winner in this location, but certainly it's not there yet. read more

This place is wonderful. The location and atmosphere was very nice. The place is very clean. The food was amazing. The only reason it's not five stars; our server was kinda rude when we asked to split the check. Very loudly "I wish you would have told me before. Plus you guy have moved seats." Nothing special about this place. I miss Pflucke. Patio and outdoor seating are nice but the small burger with the full size price is disappointing. Not a fan of the a la cart pricing either. There are a ton of places in this town that serve a great burger and if that's what you're going for, then you need to be over the top. This one missed the mark. read more
