This comes as no surprise. This places is always worth it and I come AT LEAST once a week. I genuinely don't believe that you can have better quality ice for this price point. The shave ice is smooth and creamy and doesn't have an "icy" consistency if you know what I mean. They have great flavor options for both syrup and ice cream flavors. The sizes are true to what you order, and it doesn't melt too quickly if you eat at a consistent pace. The employees are always kind and helpful, and always help me make syrup options when I want to try something new. Fair warning. The waiting space inside is limited and they can get BUSY. There are plenty of things to shop inside, momentos and souvenirs. There is also benches that you can sit and enjoy outside that is shaded and offers the nice ocean breeze.

The shaved ice was the best, there's no place like this in Cali. The snow cap ‍ I've never had anything like that before. My boyfriend got the Rainbow flavor ‍ it was the best because you get the banana flavor mixed with blue vanilla and pineapple but wait..... I did not know there was vanilla ice cream at the bottom.... AMAZING! If I had known, I would've gotten orange flavor. Great place to grab a few souvenirs. The girls that worked there were friendly.

Delicious shaved ice. The mochi was yummy too. Affordable, local, and casual. Nothing fancy, but this does the job. Not a lot of options for shaved ice in the west side, this was one of the only places that came up. I'm also a tourist so wasn't sure how this was going to be, but was pleasantly surprised and extremely satisfied, would return if ever on the west side. Also, the small can be shared between two people at least!

Mountain Magic Shave ice is the best shave ice that I have found on the island, and trust me I have been on the hunt for years!! Their ice couldn't get any softer, they have all sorts of flavors that are made in house, not to mention all the toppings. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE TOPPINGS!! I love the ice cream, snow cap, azuki beans, and mochi. Also the sizes are huge. Two people could share a small easily. In my photo I have a small! Every time I am on west side I make sure to stop here!!

Hands down one of the best shaved ice spots I've ever been to. Their souvenirs are very beautiful I had to take some home with me lol. The customer service is A1, the vibes are welcoming, and the flavors? INSANE. Way better than Waiola Shaved Ice by a million each one explodes with flavor. 10/10 recommend

If you're all the way out West, stop by! Giant servings, melt in your mouth, very fruity juices. We tried the lilikoi flavor, which was super nice. The ube snow cap was super creamy and delicious. The mochi was tasty and very plentiful. Generous servings. Some outdoor benches. Lots of parking.

Another stop on our Shave Ice Expeditions. In fact we went twice again in a short period of time. We went to the Makaha store tho I know I have been to the truck in Waikele probably a decade ago. But this place is great. Again, staff is efficient. The keiki is the best size for all of us because really who needs that much. I always sugar crash after. I have a hard time recommending flavors as we all have our own personal taste buds but I will say I dont see enough difference in the "cream" flavors for the upcharge. The ice texture is nice and soft how we like but again with that you have a bigger chance syrup wont make it all the way to the middle. Again, not a deal breaker for me unless its really bad. The root beer met my daughters approval which means its actually good. I like that they layer the toppings in the middle and on top. So I could get a good ration of mochi and shave ice all the way through my experience. We are in Makaha all the time so I am sure this will be standard, especially since the prices are reasonable.

My cousin introduced me to this place for the first time a week ago and OMG.... I CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK!!!!!!! I tried the shaved ice. I got the 3 flavors: strawberry, pineapple and guava, with snow cap (condensed milk), li-hing powder and mochi balls. OMG. they added mochi balls in the middle, layered at the bottom of the shaved ice and not just the top, i was happy about that lol the mochi balls were big and tasty, the flavor of the shaved ice was spot on and i can't wait to come back and try other flavors. Customer service was welcoming, fast & friendly, Ambience of the store was relaxed, lots of things to look at and purchase here, cute local apparel, hats, bags, swim wear all kinds!!!!!! Def recommend this place!!!!!!!! It's around the corner from Makaha Longs (cvs)!

The BEST shave ice!! We been to a lot of shave ice places and let me just say- Mountain Magic Makaha is the VERY BEST!! Ice is so soft, flavors are always tasty!! Friendly workers, great staff, easy location to find, store has a lot of cute things to purchase from tourist to locals. This has been by far one of our most visited places monthly. Ok so me and my son ventured to Makaha to the thrift shop there and was looking for a small snack. The security guard told us about the ice cream shop and how good it is, so being that it was just a few steps away we went. Wow! We had their Kulolo Ice Cream and it was good! Prices are not bad but worth it, will come here again hopefully soon because I recently went there and it was closed, hopefully after the 5th if June it will be open again! read more

My daughter wanted to check out this new spot out in makaha called Mountain Magic Bubble tea they have great customer service greet you as soon as you walk in smiling faces very polite my daughter and I had a milk tea this was my first time drinking this one in Particular and I much say its yummy then I seen that they had Dave's ice cream 8 flavor and I got to try the ube ice cream for the first time and it was yummy then we ordered a single scoop cookies and cream for my granddaughter we Definitely will be back again to try other things so if you are in makaha in the old cornets building front facing Makaha valley road stop by and check them out you won't be Disappointed read more

They offer good portion sizes and a huge size (the big kahuna, I think)- we did not get that. The large is big enough to share with our kids. The flavors were good and they offer a big selection of flavors. We didn't get the snow cap or ice cream, but that seemed to be VERY popular. The shop is cute. read more

These guys are great! From the stuff that they sell to their customer service! Everything is on point all the time and that's what I love about them! This location closes at 6pm daily and they left their doors open passed their closing time just to serve the customers who were making their way in 15 mins later!! So happy they opened a location on the west side! read more

Being that I am pregnant, I dreamt about shave ice. We are so lucky this location is 5 minutes away! So naturally I made a trip down ASAP over the weekend. We must have got there at the perfect time because there was no line (thank you Shave Ice Gods). And then when we got our order the benches outside were empty, yes!!!! The machine they use makes the shave ice sooooo soft it's softer than snow. Flavors are all good and the price isn't crazy. I like to get the strawberry cream with lilikoi and snow cap. Sometimes I get vanilla ice cream on the bottom too. They also have good teas and ice cream if you don't want shave ice! read more

Did a bit of a shave ice tour, from north shore food trucks to Westside to town to Haleiwa . Mountain Magic was the hands down winner. Haven't tried the shave ice, but the ice cream and tea is very good. I recommend the thai tea and the lychee green tea and for ice cream I recommend the Hawaiian mudslide. The employees were so kind and helpful. They give free samples, and when I was waiting for our test, the man making them gave us a sample of each tea and asked if we wanted it sweeter or less sweet. Very good location across from the beach in Makaha. read more

This was our 5th trip to Hawaii, but our first to the island of Oahu, January 2021. We love shave ice and sample it multiple times every trip. Hands down, this is THE BEST we have had on any of our trips!! Nothing like a snow cone, the ice is pure smoothness - softest texture of any shave ice I have experienced. Generous portions, good price, lots of great flavors. We came to this location twice and also got a 3rd visit in at their food truck location - all 3 visits were fabulous. Delicious and everyone who works there is super sweet. If you order ice cream, be warned that their scoops are huge. Only change Id request is for them to stop using the styrofoam cups for the shave ice. read more

Best shave ice on any island, hands down! I'm so thrilled to have a location in Makaha! This place is filled with such great vibes. The service is legendary, awesome variety of flavors, and different things to order. My favorite combo is the rainbow shave ice, layered with mochiballs, vanilla ice cream, and condensed milk to top it all off. This is a total winner and must have! Visiting Hawaii for the first time, we were told we had to try the shave ice. we stumbled upon Mountain Magic on the way to our hotel and decided to give it a try. We were impressed for first time shave ice experience. Throughout the week we had tried 2 more "well known" shave ice shops around the island and none compared to the smoothness of MM. The staff was very friendly and patient with our group of 6 and helped us pick delicious flavor combinations. We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for that Hawaii shave ice experience. read more

This is the classic, old-school shave ice awith the softest texture and flavorful syrup that's not just all sugar. 3rd generation shave ice shop with friendly service and generous portions for a good price. I got a scoop of vanilla ice cream with lilikoi, mango and Haupia--so ono! I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because there wasn't enough syrup to go down past half the depth of the cup but otherwise one of the best shave ice places on the leeward side. Will be back next time we visit! read more

My daughter had the Two Egg Breakfast came with four large pieces of bacon. She substituted rice for green salad. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Her breakfast was perfect. They do not have a kid's menu, so we shared our meals with my granddaughter, which was fine as we had a lot of food. Our server brought an extra plate for her. They serve ice cream and have a selection of beautiful desserts but we were full so will return to try out. There is a small private parking lot. The restaurant is walkable from the park/beach.

We had over estimated our ability to walk the heavy kayak down to the beach and the owner was very kind to assist us by loading it in his vehicle, while at the beach he introduced us to the life guard because he was concerned as there were strong winds/currents that day, and he also came to check in on us and helped drive the kayak back. We were super grateful for the effort he put in because it truly was exceptional. The boogie boards and snorkel gear were good quality and easy to carry if you're going to a local beach. If you do want to rent the kayaks, just make sure you have the transportation figured out. When we returned we also had some shaved ice which was some of the best we had during this trip. Very refreshing!

We still tipped around 20%, but it didn't feel like the level of service matched the tip. Overall, this visit didn't live up to my previous experiences here. While I appreciate the convenience of the new ordering system, the change in the acai bowl and the limited service make me question whether I'll be returning anytime soon.
