This Mountain Mike's pizza franchise location in Alameda is the one that opened up the earliest within the surrounding areas at 9:30am. Most pizza places open after 10am around Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley. I had a last-minute gathering at 10:00am and was so glad this location was open and could fulfill my order (2 medium, 1 topping pizzas) on time! I ordered online for pickup. What a lifesaver! Arjun was the one who confirmed my order via phone and also helped at the counter when I arrived for the pickup. Pizzas were fresh and warm from the oven! Solid choices too! Chose a pepperoni pizza (which had the pepperoni coins curled upwards into the perfect cup shape and texture) and a spinach pizza which I sprinkled some oregano flakes on top for extra seasoning. Online coupons are available and can easily be applied to your order on their website. There's also a February special for heart-shaped pizzas too. What I also noticed is they have a weekday lunch buffet special for all you can eat pizza, breadsticks, and a salad bar for $15.99. I picked up pizza from this Mountain Mike's for a work event and had such a great experience I felt like I had to leave a review. I usually don't write reviews for franchise spots, but the woman at the front counter, who might be the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming. A lot of places act weird when you ask for extras like cheese, peppers, or paper plates. Not here. She asked how many I needed and made me feel like it was no trouble at all. It is the little things that really improve the whole experience. She had the kind of warmth that reminded me of a sweet family friend or someone's mom. Good pizza and even better customer service. This is really hard to put this on record but the lady with the eyeglasses tonight - 1/17/2026 around 5PM PST was handling money as cashier and working the back with the pizza/food... The Mountain Mike's franchise does its job here. The staff will greet you and make sure you have the right order. The pies are always hot and delicious so it definitely ranks higher among other pizza chains. It's super convenient for a grab and go, but the interior is in need of a remodel as it still resembles a 90's shop with their retro arcade and TV. It's a big reason why I choose to come to this location along with the fact that they have the best pepperoni pizza on the Island! The pizza is always pretty yummy. Its plentiful. The apps don't taste frozen when done. The best pizzas are the pepperoni (obv), the Robber's Roost with white sauce (if you're a garlic and white sauce fan) and the Pikes Peak. They even have a Himalayan twist on one called The Spicy Himalayan. They have many apps such as the mozzarella sticks, garlic bread, loaded fries, boneless and classic wings. They even have sandwiches! They also have 2 tvs, which is nice. Some downsides: - The wait can be a bit long. They'll say it'll be ready at a certain time. Mountain Mikes is still one of the top big name pizza places. Next to Round Table, if you're going chain pizza restaurant, they are the ones you go for. This place stay busy, and they have their own delivery person, so call them directly before using DD or GH. The pizza does its job, the pepperoni is crunchy and spicy and the crust crusts pretty good. The inside is pretty big and could seat many people, but I don't see a lot of people eating inside. At least not in the evening time. It's there if you want to. The people inside aren't too bad. Pretty friendly, fast workers. I hope they stay busy. read more

The pizza is good. Over priced, but good. We ordered 2 large pizza and 1 order of cheesy garlic bread. (Small size) and paid over $80 after tipping. The part that really made me want to take the time to leave this review is how upon asking the cashier for barbecue sauce and ranch. She kind of seemed like we were asking her to make it from scratch. She came back with 1 tiny portion of each one. We were actually kind of insulted at the thought of the 4 of us sharing one little thing of barbecue and ranch. I didnt think it was worth it to even beg for more from them. I haven't had Mountain Mikes in years and this was a perfect location to be reintroduced. There is construction happening, but street parking available. I wanted to specifically call out the woman working this evening (6/19). She was so sweet and kind, she exemplified true customer service and it just really made my evening after a day full of hiccups. It has been over 35 years since I stepped into a Mountain Mike's Pizza Parlor (the San Leandro one on Marina Blvd). This pizza parlor is about three blocks from my home. My husband and I felt like pizza for dinner. I didn't want to go too far from home. This location is convenient and close by. I called the order in and told the employee I would be there around seven to pick up. Eats: a large McKinley pizza. The nice employee gave me a $5.00 discount - cool - instead of a $4.00 off coupon. The pizza looked scrumptious, but upon tasting it, it was a tad too salty. I could not taste the tomato based sauce. Although the pizza was okay, my husband kept saying it was lacking something. I am not giving up on Mountain Mike's. I believe visiting two more times and ordering two different types of pizza will have me up the rating to a 4 star. My friend hosted a get-together at a local park that I helped setup and organize. We ordered pizzas from this Mountain Mike's to be delivered at a certain time. The pizzas didn't show up, and we had to call. They eventually were delivered and all worked out well. Moral of the story is to give a follow-up call just to make sure they are on your order if you plan ahead. This is decent pizza. Nothing to write home about but also nothing terrible. I like more cheese on my pizza. Or at least a thicker layer of cheese. The toppings were generous and fresh. The thin crust was good. Not burnt, not overcooked, not dry. When we called the restaurant we were told that it was our fault for ordering a pizza without cheese and that causes the pepperoni to be overcooked. I've ordered many pizzas without cheese throughout the years and have NEVER had ruined toppings from lack of cheese. What a silly explanation. Either you specialize in pizza or you don't.
