Where do I begin with Mountain Mike's? It's bad. And not bad meaning good. Bad as in poor quality, inferior, substandard, second-rate, unsatisfactory, inadequate, unacceptably BAD. For about $30 I got 2-two topping pizzas that were thicker than focaccia bread with very little sauce or cheese. I really tried to see the good in the pizza but it was like trying to find the good in North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong-un. I was at a loss for words. But I've come to the conclusion that Mountain Mikes was HACKED by cyber terrorists that removed Mountain Mikes secret pizza recipes and replaced them with God-awful recipes to kill it's customers taste buds and change the way I feel about pizza forever more... Or... Mountain Mikes just sucks. For a first time customer of mountains mike this was a very disappointing experience for me and my family. The buffet food looked as if it had been sitting since 11am the bread sticks were hard. When I went to this Mountain Mike's in Alameda with a coupon insert, this lady said they didn't honor the coupon. I said it was in the weekly Alameda grocery insert and they were in Alameda. Incredibly horrible experience. TL;DR: Ordered from here and food was an hour late (ie took an 1h45m to arrive). Was hung up on twice, insulted while trying to find out where the food was, and told by the manager "I have the good food. If you want the good food you order from us." (hahaha. Have you HAD Mountain Mikes?!?!) Next time I want quick easy pizza I'll order from Domino's using their convenient app. I have ordered from this Mountain Mike's almost once a week for the last several years, and I will never order from them again after tonight. Long, frustrating, super annoying short: I ordered three pizzas from them around 5:15 tonight and was quoted a wait time of 45-55 mins. That quoted time came and went, so I called back after 75 mins and was told my pizza would arrive in 10 mins. Called 20 mins after that and was told they would call the driver to find out where he was. Waited 10 mins without hearing anything and called back. This time the woman muttered apologies but hung up on me. Called back and someone else picked up. I asked for a manager and they HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN. Shortly after this the driver finally called me and said he was at a nearby park where I had ordered some pizza over 3 months ago and that he was looking for me. I told him I was at home, at which point he recited my address and that he would be there "soon". Called back another time (the 6th time, if you've lost count) and the male manager picked up. I explained the situation and asked what they were going to do and he made every excuse under the sun ("It's a game night", "We're busy" and "He's a new driver."--which by the way he wasn't, as we know this guy). The manager finally offered me $5 off. When I said that was insulting he offered $10. We had already made something else for dinner at this point, so I told him that unless he made it right by covering the whole cost we weren't going to order from them again. He became insulting at this point and told me "I know you order from here a lot. We have the good food. If you want the good food you will order from us." I need to interject here to point out how flawed this is. When we want good pizza/food we do not order from Mountain Mike's. We order from here when we want it quick and easy. If it's not that, then it's nothing. It's certainly not particularly good. Anyway, at this point I told him that our business was done and I did not want his discount. Customer service here is awful. We've been customers for a few months now but this experience has completely turned me. Ordered a pizza online and went in to pick up, even tipped a little extra because of the times we are in and trying to support a local business. When we got the pizza home, the first slice had a huge long black hair baked into it. My husband immediately called and they did not even apologize they requested that my husband bring in the pizza with the offending hair. They said they would start making a new one. When my husband arrived, they hadn't started making the new pizza yet, we're arguing in another language in front of my husband and never once offered to refund us the money. They tossed my husband two cans of soda and called it a day. So 45 min later when we are supposed to be under house arrest, a new pizza was made. Not sure we will be coming back. read more

Mozzarella Gate 2022. Received mozzarella sticks that were white. As in undercooked, grainy, and still partially frozen. Since this was a takeout order, we had to waste our time by driving back to the store, then arguing with two different employees who seriously expected us to believe that these undercooked things were even remotely acceptable (see photo). They ended up giving us a refund for the sticks, but that's not what's most important. The point is that we had our time and gas wasted because a lazy cook wanted to be lazy and throw some garbage in a box and serve it. I know it's hard to find good employees anymore thanks to Covid, but come on. This was a ridiculous waste of everyone's time. Just put the frozen sticks in the fry basket and cook them for the proper amount of time until golden brown. There's no excuse for trying to pass off crap and expect people to just take it. Give me a break. Do better. And don't expect any return customers if this is how you treat them--by serving inedible food. In the end we think the problem is twofold: the mozzarella sticks were freezer burned, and this store doesn't have a fryer--they tried to bake them. And now we're back home trying to eat cold pizza. That's $70 down the toilet and part of a precious weekend afternoon wasted. Really not okay to run a restaurant this poorly. read more

Lets start with a positive: the pizza is great, for a chain. But you can get that at just about any Mountain Mike's in the area. Now that that's out of the way, god forbid you ever try to participate in their weekday lunch "buffet." The salad bar is gross. Nothing looks or smells fresh in it. But the worst part is the pizza service. They put out 3 tiny pizzas, at a refresh rate of less than 1 pizza per hour, even with multiple people participating in the buffet. Even though the buffet is stated to end at 2, they stop putting new pizzas out by 1:15. It's less "all you can eat," and more "all that they decide you get to eat." The restaurant as a whole feels like it's falling on hard times, cutting costs wherever possible. They didn't even bother turning on their menu screens until 1:55, as if they've given up on any possibility of serving folks anything other than the sham of a buffet during buffet hours. The front of the house remains totally empty of staff by default, until you stand in line at the register for a minute or two. All in all, it feels like a race to the bottom between poor service and low customer demand. Ye be warned. read more

Entirely uncalled for behavior towards someone who was attempting to help. I called later and asked to speak to the manager as I felt the manager should be aware of what happened. An employee answered the phone (maybe the same delivery person?!) and said the manager was not there, did not know when the manager would be in, and pressed me repeatedly as to the reason I was asking for the manager. Me and my family ordered pizza this last past weekend and the driver called to tell me he was outside, before I hung up the phone the driver bluntly asked for a tip. I ordered 2 medium pizza's and wings. The food came out great. I have no issues with the food, but I did have a weird experience. WARNING for people when ordering online! I got a call from a private number as my order was getting delivered saying that they were from Mt Mikes and my credit card got declined and they needed my card information again.
