I always try to spend my money locally, so when my son wanted pizza for lunch, we dropped in for the buffet. We arrived about an hour before the buffet ended, and the place was fairly empty. The pizza bar had 2 varieties of pizza, neither fit for a 8 year old, and were both missing about half. Who knows how long they sat under the lamps. The salad bar was not filled, the lights were off in the back, the pizza bar was not cleaned up. Considering the place was empty, I think it should have been at least clean, not to mention stocked up. We went to Subway instead. I've tried one of their Hawiian pizzas a couple of months ago, and it was good. Service in Sacramento and this area as well is sub par for the most part compared to other areas. I don't know why. Maybe because we are not a tourist area. There are a million pizza joints, and this is just another. Nothing makes it stand out. Service was to be expected, but nothing more. I've come to the point that if my service isn't blatently poor, I consider it good. read more

I grew up on Mountain Mike's Pizza in San Jose in the 80s close to Palo Alto, it's birthplace. I can remember playing Pac Man with my soccer team while awaiting our pizza to be ready. I have good memories of that and the quality of the pie has remained through the decades. Like most Mountain Mike's Pizza stores, this one in Galt is pretty much is the same as the rest. The interior and theme looks as about as old as the original one I went to on Cottle Road and Santa Teresa as a kid in 1982. The salad bar appears as an afterthought as if the manager ventures, 'We sale pizza, who would want to eat "health" food?' Often you'll find ingredients mixed with one another and the dressing containers messy. The soda machine shoved all the way in the corner isn't much better and is often sticky feeling on the buttons. Oh, speaking of sticky, if you desire a channel change on one of the televisions, the staff will point out which remote is your particular monitor and let you change it. Yup, those remotes are nasty sticky. The seating area is generally cleaned but that's mostly due to the fact that there really isn't many people hanging out to dine in. The "party" room offers some better privacy when not in use. When you walk in to pick up or place your order, most of my visits have been without a line. That said, most of my visits has me waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence and to help me. Except for one blonde kid with glasses, the service is mediocre at best. It's almost like I've offended the person and I interrupted their private time by standing at the counter. If there is a line, the wait is longer than it should be. If you ordered ahead of time, all bets are off of getting your pizza quickly as you're forced to wait in the same line as everyone else. I've on a few occasions literally saw my pizza come out steaming hot from the oven into a box and then sit on top of that oven for nearly 10 minutes. The pizza is as I have had since a kid: good and delicious. The pepperoni is Mountain Mike's masterpiece with a ton of the italian sliced sausage all over the pie curled up with juices trapped in its crater. The Mt. Everest combination is tasty as well. One big plus for Mountain Mike's is it's offering of gluten-free crust that draws us in over other places so my daughters can enjoy a fresh hot pizza along with the rest of the family. The pizza here is good the service not so good. Like any other pizza joint, it's expensive but you can easily find coupons online that they accept right off your phone. Try to order and pickup during slower times of the day and you should be good. Either way, the pizza is almost always great. read more

lst occassion: Two of the worst esperiences in my entire life at a Mountain Mike's pizza pallor. By the way, Mountain Mike's pizza in Elk Grove is excellent and that is why we gave Galt a try. We ordered 2 salad bar plates, a large dbl topping pepperoni pizza, and two drinks. When I asked the middle aged woman behind the counter if she had iced tea, she told me to go look at the labels on the fountain machine. She was rude and had an attitute. By the way, they do serve iced tea and I let her know. This woman also decided it would be funny to serve people behind us their pizza before us - actually, I think she gave them our pizza. The pizza was O.K. and again I gave them the benefit of being new and inexperienced in the business world. 2nd experience Gave it another try, a month later...never, never again! Went in and ordered the same exact order. This time one young female clerk and two young men were taking care of the business. There was no salad at the salad bar - we waited 10 minutes for the girl to open a bag and put it into a bowl. Clearly, this buisness needs to have adult supervision when three teen-agers can not open a plastic bag of salad and place it into a bowl in less than 10 minutes. Three separate "to go" orders were picked up and after 30 minutes of waiting - my husband asked about our pizza. The girl behind the counter came out with the pizza and made apologies for the pizza being placed in a "to go" box. The pizza was not hot! We looked at our receipt and it clearly said "Dine In" in big bold letters. Like the previous review, we buy fresh pizza to eat it hot with the cheeze flowing. The young girl offered to rewarm the pizza - Are you kidding? After eating one slice, we went home very disgusted. We took the pizza home and rewarmed it in our own microwave....somehow their pizza does not taste good rewarmed either. This is not a franchise that I would want to own my business, just saying - a representative clearly needs to check this place out! We will not be revisiting this pizza parlor again...ever! read more

Delivery is estimated at 45 minutes. When your pizza is 30 minutes late, you at least expect a phone call. Here's what you don't expect: the employee on the phone when you finally call them telling you that they were aware of a driver having gotten lost and didn't do anything about it, the employee telling you that this driver ALWAYS gets lost, and finally the employee telling you that he's also new and doesn't know what to do. We ordered 3 pizzas . The pizza was very dry and bland. It didn't have a good taste like normal. Tonight was the worst we have ever had. We also ordered peperoncinos on the side. They were hard and dry and flavorless. And its container they came in couldn't cover a small pizza. I don't recommend going and ordering its a waist of $65. read more

I think the owner of the franchise location needs to take a harder look at who they employ. Tonight I called to place and order and was greeted with hello in an irritated voice. I had no idea if I was connected with a business establishment. Then asked how long for delivery and was told our drivers are out so probably at least an hour followed by hold on. Put on hold and waited for over 4 min before finally hanging up. And I wish i could say this is the only time this has happened but it isnt. Seva helped me place my order. I picked up after 45 minutes. My pizza was ready on time. I've had issues where I Call other places in advance and my order is still not ready . I got there ordered a beer right away thinking I needed to wait. This was not the case. I had a large combination pizza. It was perfect for a fast last-minute meal . The staff was very rude. Have been there several times and suddenly they want to charge more for substitutions. You'd think at $35.00 for a pizza they'd be grateful they'd sold one! After waiting quite some time we saw a pizza sitting on top of the oven. (Nasty place to set a pizza) when asked if it was ours the girl said "oh no, yours is still in the oven".she then turned around and pulled the pizza off the top of the oven, cut it up and brought it to our table. Pizza wasn't cut up at all, not sure What she did to it. Then she went behind the counter and gave us dirty looks . The pizza crust under the toppings was raw. I ordered about $75 worth of pizza for pickup for my class party (the kids earned a party for awesome behavior). When my class voted, they voted for pizza. We set a date (for the following Friday), and I put the order in early Friday morning (about 7:30am) online for pickup time of 12:30 (a half hour before the kids get in from recess). 12:30 rolls around and when trying to pick it up, they said it would be another 20 minutes. Ok, that's cutting it close, but I figured I'd already been waiting this long, might as well wait it out. 20 minutes passes and the guy says it'll be ANOTHER 20 minutes, claiming the time on his receipt didn't match mine. I showed him my online "ready by 12:30", and he flat out told me, "well mine doesn't say that, it says 12:45, so it's not my fault". I explained that still puts him over that promised time by almost 30 minutes, and all he could say was, "it's not my fault". Mind you, there was only one other customer who also was there to pick up an order (that was also past the promised pick up time), and I was floored that a company I expect more from could only come back with "it's not my fault". I ended up cancelling since I was almost out of time before my students get in, and went to a "little pizza" place that was willing to work on short notice. The kids were bummed that they didn't get the pizza they voted on, but they still made the most of it. I'm proud of them, but highly disappointed with a company that claims to be about the community, yet let down a big part of it. read more

OK. This place just opened up a few weeks ago. There were a number of issues with what we ordered however. There used to be a great pizza place in this exact spot, so our expectations were high. We ordered a medium Bacon & Pineapple Pizza, a pitcher of Dos Equis beer, some mozarella sticks, and a soda. The bacon was burned, literally. The beer was not cold, kind of surprising considering it is draft. Big no-no. The mugs they gave us were just refrigerator cold, not freezer cold. I like it when the mozarella sticks come hot and melting where there is a long piece of string stretching away from your mouth as you take a bite. This was not the case. The mozarella stick had the consistency more so of a beef jerky stick. On top of that, no pizza sauce came with it?! We asked for some ranch and were directed to the salad bar. Perhaps the business is too new, maybe another shot in a couple months, but for now there is a lot of corners to clean up. read more

As is always the case, a poor review usually is because of service. Such is the case here. The Half Dome sandwich was good and a fair value especially since it includes chips. Wait, even though the menu says it includes chips, it really doesn't. When I asked a staff member, (who was as apathetic as they come), I was told " it's an old menu". Funny, it is the same menu that is on the wall. Must be an old wall. The entire staff seem to have the same attention to customer service as our server. What appeared to be the manager didn't have the courtesy to stop opening the mail when greeting a customer. Stopped here passing through on a road trip. If I find myself in this shopping center again, I'll go to ANY of the other restaurants here except this one. Looks like a email to corporate is in order. read more

First we were there at about 3pm and waited by ourselves for 10 minutes before we saw a human. I wanted to leave but finally my husband spoke up and yelled if anyone was there.
