The taste of the food is the only reason I give a confident single star. We came in soon after opening for the Lunch Buffet from 11-1:300pm. The salad bar looked like it had not been refreshed since dinner time last night. We brought this up to the manager and the salad bar was hastily put together with the same left over produce. Yuck! The pizza for the buffet was already stiff, greasy and cold by 11:20. The restrooms smelled so strongly of urine, it's obviously not cleaned often. The kitchen was a huge mess, I took a picture of the disastrous pizza making station. Just unclean all around. I was so excited as a salida resident to be getting a new mountain mike's off Pelandale ave. I've eaten in the restaurant and had pizza delivered. The restaurant had very filthy floors and salad bar was a mess, but I figured they're new and maybe the staff is new as well. The last 2 times I had pizza delivered I ordered both pizzas well done. I like the crust, meat and veggies done. Both times they were not well done and the dough wasn't even cooked. It's like fresh dough. not only that I ordered my pizzas this evening at 6:20 they didn't arrive till 8pm. An hour and 40 minutes it took for delivery when I was told it was an hour to hour and 15 mins. It really sucks this place doesn't have their stuff together like all the other stores. Just ate here. This place is incredibly dirty. Pizza is pretty tasteless. We had the Veggiemore pizza and raw, cold tomatoes were placed on it before it was served. I had to bus my own table as there was not a clean table in the place. Even after pointing out how dirty the place was workers continued to eat and drink and fold pizza boxes. I must say, we have a great time when we dine in at this location. Friendly staff are always helpful and greet us at the door when we walk in. We especially love coming here because the dining tables and area is always clean and the food is always freshly prepared. Pizza is never burnt and the cheese is delicious with the crunchy pepperoni toppings that we love. Salad bar is fresh and we love it! Cucumbers are freshly sliced and the lettuce tasted fresh. Maybe add Caesar dressing for the salad. That would be nice to enjoy. The Pepsi self serve is great with the products that we love as well! Don't change to coke , because Pepsi products are far better then coke, and always makes the pizza that much tastier. Over all, we had nothing but positive experiences here. Keep it up. read more

One time we had to wait a bit longer than what was expected so they gave us a great deal and the pizza was superb and stacked with toppings. I have had my son's birthday party at the Mountain Mike's on McHenry for the last 4 years. They were all full when I called to reserve the back room so I called the Pelendale location. Every single person I spoke to (both managers) were so friendly and nice to deal with, which was totally different from the McHenry location. WORST CUSTOMER Service EVER!!! The manager refused to speak to me or provide her name when I called to complain about having to wait over 2.5 hours for a pizza. We ordered online and the wait time given was 45mins, so after 1.5hours we called to check on the status....staff told us the pizza would arrive in 15mins...so after waiting another 45mins we called again to complain but staff told us the manager was on a break and she would call us back....after another 25 mins still NO pizza or call back!!! So we called again and the manager put us on hold for 5mins....a staff member then told us the manager wouldn't be able to talk to us! So I canceled the order and asked for the manager name... staff put me on hold again and after being on hold for another 5mins refused to give me the name of the manager!! read more

I Ordered 2 pizzas at 7:15pm. Manager said 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours for delivery. Ok. Understandable.... It's Sunday - They are busy. I placed the order. 2 1/2 hours later & no pizzas. I called Mountain Mike's. He says "I'm just now cutting your pizzas and they will be delivered." I asked if he could have called to say they were running behind and he says "I tried to call you ". Ummmmm - My phone is working fine because I called him from it twice & it never rang at my house all evening. 10:05ish pm the delivery guy arrives at our door. The manager was making the pizza and first served me pepperoni and olive and I said it was wrong and wanting olive and pineapple. She then made another one with pepperoni on pineapple. I switched to this Mountain Mikes due to issues I had with the one on Prescott. I was hesitant to try it out but our daughter will not eat any other pizza!!! Plus we also have a member of our family who is a vegetarian and has allergies to meat proteins. So in trying it out, we were shocked that not only was it cleaned but the atmosphere was nice. Most important is that employees working with food are WEARING GLOVES!! We have NEVER had an issue with our pepperoni pizzas and our vegetarian pizzas are never crossed contaminated with proteins!!! We went in for their buffet lunch and we were happy. Employees were friendly, salad bar was well stocked and they kept putting fresh pizza out. They also told us that if we wanted a particular kind of pizza we could order it. The employees seemed to keep the place clean and clear the tables in a timely manner. That said, there was this one poor lady who waited forever for her small to-go pizza. As I watched the employee take it out of the oven and slice it, it was obvious he was a rookie as he moved very slowly. I'm probably not going to order something off the menu until they get their act together. Really, pizza shouldn't take that long. Good quality pizza, consistently quality pizza but....alway, always put on hold when ordering and never get the time quote right. Always 10-20 minutes later than time quoted. I live nearby and am picky about a crispy crust... so must not sit in the box as it causes sogginess/rubber crust. WAY-BETTER than the Round Table next door tho. I used to love round table. SO SAD. Wow I'm not sure why the reviews are so low. I just seriously had the BEST customer service and pizza ordering experience ever. I called to see what specials they had going on and a VERY upbeat and happy person named Anthony answered all of my questions. I could imagine being bombarded daily about what the specials are and how much things cost would be quite annoying. However, Anthony not only didn't make me feel like a nuisance, but he actually made me feel like a valued customer. I've worked as a restaurant manager, and I know about quality customer service. If I was still in the business I would definitely have him work for me. Mountain mikes is very lucky to have a great employee like Anthony. I'm not sure if he is manager or not, but he definitely should be. Thank you Anthony for your OUTSTANDING customer service. One worker was standing around watching tv another worker was just doodling on a chalk board while the manager was just hanging out in the office. There was only one customer in the restaurant other than us. We waited over an hour for one large pizza. ONE. While we waited a lot of workers were just standing around. We asked how much longer and one girl told the other girl 20 minutes and then she proceeded to tell us 10 minutes! Why lie to your paying customers!! Should have gone to Round table instead. We have pizza Friday every week from this location because we live right down the road. We always have it delivered and are quoted an hour to an hour and a half and 90% of the time it is delivered well past that time frame and takes 2 plus hours. The staff is always very nice. The lettuce was brown, the sodas were empty or flat, and they couldn't keep up with the demand of 4 tables.There were 2 tables of employees from the hospital that couldn't get more then a piece of pizza and flat soda for 12 dollars. Disappointing ! My husband and I went there today for the lunch buffet . We waited to be helped at the cash register and when we finally were helped we were told that we couldnt get the buffet because it ended at 1:30pm , i looked at the time and it was only 1:41pm! There was also 3 pizzas out for the buffet and a stocked salad bar! The worker just stood there and said it like she didnt even want to be bothered (and shes the one who was bussing a table and saw us come in and made us wait to even be helped) !
